Clone spruce trees (Picea abies L. Karst.) were exposed in the Hohenheim open-top chambers to low levels of O(3) and SO(2), singly and in combination, and to simulated precipitation of two pH treatments (Seufert et al., this volume). At the end of five years of continuous exposure, needles from the 13-year-old trees were sampled and analysed for pigments content by means of HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography). The pigment content was determined for three needle age classes. Chlorophyll a content, measured on a dry weight basis, was similar for all needle age classes in the control chambers receiving only the simulated rain treatments at pH 5.0 or 4.0, and the chamber receiving O(3) and the rain treatment at pH 4.0. Also, no differences were noted in one-year-old needles in the chambers with SO(2) and simulated precipitation at pH 4.0 and SO(2) + O(3) and simulated precipitation at pH 4.0. Reductions of approximately 10 and 35% were measured in two-year-old needles from the chambers with SO(2) and precipitation at pH 4.0, and SO(2) + O(3) and precipitation at pH 4.0. The three-year-old needles from these chambers had 40% lower chlorophyll a content compared to the control chambers. No treatment effects were seen on the molar ratios of chlorophyll b, the carotenes, lutein, neoxanthin, and the sum of carotenoids involved in the xanthophyll cycle, violaxanthin + antheraxanthin + zeaxanthin, to chlorophyll [Formula: see text]. The xanthophyll cycle, assayed in one-year-old needles under defined light conditions (520 microE m(-2) s(-1), while light) was active in all samples. Needles from the control chambers and the chambers with SO(2) and with O(3) behaved similarly and differed from the SO(2) + O(3) treated needles by a 50% higher zeaxanthin content reached under light.  相似文献

The recent advancement of digitalization and information and communication technology (ICT) has not only shifted the manufacturing paradigm towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, namely Industry 4.0, but also provided opportunities for a smart logistics transformation. Despite studies have focused on improving the smartness, connectivity, and autonomy of isolated logistics operations with a primary focus on the forward channels, there is still a lack of a systematic conceptualization to guide the coming paradigm shift of reverse logistics, for instance, how “individualization” and “service innovation” should be interpreted in a smart reverse logistics context? To fill this gap, Reverse logistics 4.0 is defined, from a holistic perspective, in this paper to offer a systematic analysis of the technological impact of Industry 4.0 on reverse logistics. Based on the reported research and case studies from the literature, the conceptual framework of smart reverse logistics transformation is proposed to link Industry 4.0 enablers, smart service and operation transformation, and targeted sustainability goals. A smart reverse logistics architecture is also given to allow a high level of system integration enabled by intelligent devices and smart portals, autonomous robots, and advanced analytical tools, where the value of technological innovations can be exploited to solve various reverse logistics problems. Thus, the contribution of this research lies, through conceptual development, in presenting a clear roadmap and research agenda for the reverse logistics transformation in Industry 4.0.

Egg clumps of Ambystoma maculatum were collected from a pond on the south side of the Gaspereau Valley, Kings County, Nova Scotia, to determine the effects of low ambient pH levels on the perivitelline fluid pH. Egg masses were placed in aquaria filled with pond water adjusted to pH 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0. Perivitelline fluid was withdrawn from the eggs at 1, 3, 5, 7, 24, 48, 96 and 120 h after initial immersion, and its pH measured. Initial perivitelline fluid values decreased significantly 7 to 96 h after initial immersion in treatments altered to pH 4.0 and 5.0. Rate of H(+) influx into the perivitelline fluid is much greater in eggs immersed in water at pH 4 than in water at pH 5 or 6. Median Tolerance Limit tests indicated a critical pH value between 3.5 and 4.0 for newly hatched larvae.  相似文献

Growing juveniles of the spruce-living spider Pityohyphantes phrygianus were sprayed with water of different acidity--pH approximately 7 (control), 4.0 (acid rain) and 2.2-in a 2.5-month laboratory experiment. The growth rates did not differ between control and pH 4.0, while there was a significant growth reduction at pH 2.2. A low mortality occurred only in the pH 2.2 group. P. phrygianus seems to be resistant against acid rain although negative long-term effects cannot be ruled out.  相似文献

Viability, germination and tube length were investigated in pollen grains of field-grown 'Summerred' apple trees (Malus domestica Borkh) exposed to deionized water, rainfall or simulated acid rain at pH 5.6, 4.0 and 3.0. Pollen viability and germination significantly decreased with lower values of pH and with increasing number of treatments. The effects of pH 5.6 and natural rainfall were not significant. Electron microscope investigation of vegetative pollen cells of plants exposed to acid rain at pH 4.0 and 3.0 showed modified features in mitochondria, plastids and endoplasmic reticulum.  相似文献

A fluidized zero valent iron (ZVI) reactor is examined for nitrate reduction. Using the system, the pH of solution can be maintained at optimal conditions for rapid nitrate reduction. For hydraulic retention times of 15 min, the nitrate reduction efficiency increases with increasing ZVI dosage. At ZVI loadings of 33 gl-1, results indicate that the nitrate removal efficiency increases from less than 13% for systems without pH control to more than 92% for systems operated at pH of 4.0. By maintaining pH at 4.0, we are able to decrease the hydraulic retention time to 3 min and still achieve more than 87% nitrate reduction. The recovery of total nitrogen added as nitrate, ammonium, and nitrite was less than 50% for the system operated at pH4.0, and was close to 100% for a system without pH control. The possibility of nitrate and ammonium adsorption onto iron corrosion products was ruled out by studying the behavior of their adsorption onto freshly hydrous ferric oxide at variable pH. Results indicate the probable formation of nitrogen gas species during reaction in pH4.0.  相似文献

The influence of clay minerals on the reduction of Cr6+ by citric acid was investigated at pH values 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 at 25 degrees C. The results indicate that montmorillonite and illite greatly accelerate the reduction reactions at pH 4.0 and 4.5, but their effects are dramatically reduced at pH 5.0. The role of clay minerals in accelerating the reactions is in the order: illite>montmorillonite>kaolinite, which has a positive correlation with the amount of Mn2+ adsorbed on the surfaces of these minerals. With light, Fe(3+) also significantly increases reaction rates. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) greatly suppresses the acceleration of the reduction reactions by these minerals, indicating that EDTA competes with citric acid for Mn2+. Thus, the formation of complexes between Mn(2+) and citric acid could be a prerequisite for the acceleration of the reductions of Cr6+ by clay minerals. In addition, there is no relationship between the specific surface area of clay minerals and the reduction rate of Cr6+ by citric acid.  相似文献

利用Fenton强化微电解工艺对煤层气井压裂废水展开预处理研究,以COD去除率和可生化性(B/C)为考察指标,单独工艺正交实验结果表明pH为3、反应时间为90 min、铁碳体积比为1.5∶1和pH为4、反应时间为80 min、H2O2投加量为4 mL/L分别是微电解与Fenton反应的最优条件,各可获得48.1%和44.9%的COD去除率。在最优条件下进行微电解-Fenton联合运行实验,连续61 h内COD去除率均稳定在65%以上,B/C由0.158上升到0.3以上,有利于后续生化处理的运行。  相似文献

The objective of this research was to investigate the performance of the ferrous sulfate bioleaching (FSBL) process in a pilot plant for decontamination and stabilization of wastewater sludge. Batch and continuous experiments, conducted with two 4-m3 bioreactors using indigenous iron-oxidizing bacteria (20% v/v of inoculum) with addition of 4.0 g ferrous sulfate heptahydrate per liter of sludge initially acidified to pH 4.0, were sufficient for effective heavy metal (cadmium, copper, manganese, zinc, and lead) removal yields. The average metal removal yields during the FSBL process were as follows: cadmium (69 to 75%), copper (68 to 70%), manganese (72 to 73%), zinc (65 to 66%), and lead (16%). The FSBL process was also found to be effective in removing both fecal and total coliforms (abatement > 5 to 6 log units). The nutrients content (nitrogen, phosphorus, and magnesium) were also preserved in decontaminated sludge.  相似文献

The purpose of the present study was to investigate in rats the reproductive effects of toxaphene, an insecticidal mixture which has been identified as a pollutant in the Great Lakes ecosystem. Groups of 30 female and 15 male weanling rats were given toxaphene in the diets at 0, 4.0, 20, 100 or 500 ppm in a 1 generation 2 litter reproduction study. Toxaphene treatment at the levels studied had no effects on the litter size, pup weight, fertility, or gestation and survival indices. Toxic effects in the parental rats included depressed weight gain, elevated serum cholesterol, and increased liver and kidney weight and hepatic microsomal enzyme activities. Most of these effects were associated only with 500 ppm toxaphene treatment. Treatment-related histological changes in the liver, thyroid and kidney of adult rats were observed at levels as low as 20 ppm. Based on the data presented, the no observable adverse effect dose of toxaphene was considered to be 4.0 ppm in the diet (0.29-0.38 mg/kg b.w./day depending on the amount of dietary intake).  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the potential of a pure bacterial culture of Pseudomonas with the potential of an indigenous microorganism for malathion degradation by continuous cultivation using two different sets of conditions (with-culture: Pseudomonas, and without-culture: indigenous microorganisms) at varied dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations (4.0 and 8.0 mg/L) in a biosimulator. The samples were analysed for pH, DO and COD (unfiltered). Gas chromatography (GC) revealed that almost 90% of malathion removal was achieved within ten hours of treatment in both studies of with-culture using 4.0 and 8.0 mg/L DO, whereas COD was considerably reduced during the treatment process and the removal efficiency was found to be above 90% in both conditions. The removal of COD was found to be in direct relation to retention time. However, the unfiltered COD and malathion removal efficiency was significantly influenced by DO. The percentage degradation of malathion using 4.0 mg/L DO, with-culture after 10 hours was 90.01%, whereas after 51 hours it was 99.03%. The without-culture studies showed percentage values which were 38.29% after 10 hours, whereas the corresponding value after 51 hours was 96.84%. Similarly, the percentage degradation of malathion using 8.0 mg/L DO, with-culture studies revealed that almost 89.40% malathion degradation was achieved after 10 hours, whereas it was 96.91% after 51 hours after inoculation of the culture. However, for the without-culture studies the value after 10 hours was 52.34%, whereas 96.86% malathion degradation was achieved after 51 hours without added culture. Although no significant variation in the pH was observed during the study the pH values increased gradually during the treatment process in all of the conditions. A critical evaluation of data presented revealed that the degradation potential of Pseudomonas was better when compared to the degradation potential of indigenous microorganisms.  相似文献

本文研制了一种以火力发电厂废树脂为载体的锆负载型氟离子吸附剂 ,并在评价了该树脂对氟离子的吸附性能之后探讨了该树脂用于火力发电厂含氟废水深度处理的可能性。研究结果表明 ,锆的最佳负载的最佳浓度为0 .5mol/L ,该负载树脂的最佳吸附pH为 3.0— 4 .0 ,用填充柱进行的动态实验结果表明 ,pH =3时的吸附容量显著高于 pH=4时的值。利用该树脂对火力发电厂模拟含氟废水进行了双柱串联吸附工艺处理 ,当柱流量为 35mL/min(SV10 )、第二柱穿透时 ,第一柱的吸附容量为 10 2 2 8mg/L湿树脂 ;用 0 .1mol/L的NaOH溶液进行再生 ,柱流量选择为 35mL/min(SV10 )时 ,脱附率在 95 %以上。  相似文献

The desorption characteristics of lead in two variable charge soils (one developed from Arenaceous rock (RAR) and the other derived from Quaternary red earths (REQ)) were studied, and the effects of pH value, organic acid, and competitive ions were examined. Desorption of Pb(2+) decreased from nearly 100.0 to 20.0% within pH 1.0-4.0 in both soils, and then the decrease diminished at pH > 4.0. Organic ligands at relatively low concentrations (< or =10(-3) mol L(-1)) slightly inhibited Pb(2+) desorption, but enhanced Pb(2+) desorption at higher concentrations. In this study, citric acid or acetic acid at higher concentrations (>10(-3) mol L(-1)) had the greatest improvement of Pb(2+) desorption, followed by malic acid; and the smallest was oxalic acid. Desorption of the adsorbed Pb(2+) increased greatly with increasing concentrations of added Cu(2+) or Zn(2+). Applied Cu(2+) increased Pb(2+) desorption more than Zn(2+) at the same loading.  相似文献

Gas exchange was characterized in one- and two year-old spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) and fir seedlings (Abies alba Mill.) which had been exposed to low levels of ozone, sulfur dioxide and simulated rain or a combination of all three variables in open top chambers from 1983 through 1988. The gas exchange measurements were carried out in March 1988 at the end of the five year experiment. The twigs examined did not exhibit any visible sign of injury, specifically no differences were apparent between trees under the treatments of simulated acidic rain at pH 5.0 and pH 4.0. The study of carbon dioxide response curves showed different effects of the pollutants on the tree species. One-Year-old spruce needles treated with O(3) and simulated acidic precipitation pH 4.0 showed noticeable reduction of net photosynthetic rate. Exposure to the combination O(3) and SO(2) at pH 4.0 resulted in a significant depression of photosynthesis in two-year-old needles Transpiration rate was not decreased to a similar extent. No changes either in photosynthesis or transpiration were found in spruce under fumigation with SO(2) alone. These results indicate that ozone is the principal cause of changes in photosynthetic performance of spruce. It alters mesophyll response rather than reducing stomatal conductance. The specific changes that occur in the mesophyll could be diagnosed as inactivation of a carbon fixing enzyme as well as damage of the electron transport system. Fir seem to be more tolerant to ozone. No changes in photosynthesis and transpiration following exposure to O(3) alone were found. However, SO(2) fumigation, alone or in combination with O(3), resulted in a marked decrease of photosynthetic performance. Particularly, carboxylation efficiency and also maximum carboxylation velocity were depressed indicating a reduction in carbon fixing enzyme activity. No differences between single and combined fumigation treatments regarding these variables were determined. However, parameters measured to determine changes in electron transport rate showed a higher depression in the presence of both pollutants. Transpiration also was reduced by SO(2).  相似文献

为了同时去除地下水中的氟和砷,提出了Al/C/Fe复合电极电絮凝法和Al/C—Fe/C依次除氟砷法,并进行效果对比。研究了Al/C/Fe复合电极电絮凝法的影响因素,并对复合电极电絮凝产生的絮体进行了SEM-EDX分析。结果表明,Al/C/Fe复合电极电絮凝法对氟、砷的去除速率分别是Al/C-Fe/C依次除氟砷法的1.43倍和4.73倍;初始氟/砷浓度为4.0/1.0、4.0/0和0/1.0mg/L3种条件下,通过铝极板、铁极板的电流密度均为0.10mA/cm2时,达到最好的除氟除砷效果,与初始氟/砷浓度无关。  相似文献

A survey was undertaken to determine the aflatoxin M(1) contamination of milk and some locally produced dairy products in Abeokuta and Odeda local governments of Ogun State, Nigeria. Samples of human and cow milk, yoghurt, "wara", ice cream and "nono" were collected randomly within the local governments and analysed for aflatoxin M(1) using the two-dimensional TLC. Aflatoxin M(1) contamination in the range of 2.04-4.00 microg l(-1) was noticed only in milk and ice cream. In particular, samples of human milk, cow milk and ice cream recorded high scores of 4.0 microg l(-1), 2.04 microg l(-1) and 2.23 microg l(-1), respectively in Abeokuta local governments and a score of 4.0 microg l(-1) for cow milk in Odeda local government. This indicates a high level contamination in the local governments since the weighted mean concentration of aflatoxin M1 in milk for African diet is 0.002 microg l(-1). Therefore the concentration of AFB1 in feeds which is transformed to AFM1 in milk should be reduced by good manufacturing and good storage practices. Furthermore, there is need for stringent quality control during processing and distribution of these products.  相似文献
