A new electrochemical adsorptive stripping voltammetry method was developed for the determination of trace amounts of copper in food and water samples. The study of electrochemical behavior of Cu ion indicated that Cu(II) and Schiff base formed a complex in H3BO4–NaOH buffer solution (pH?=?7.25). An accumulation potential of ?100 mV (vs Ag/AgCl) was applied while the solution was stirred for 60 s. The response curve was recorded by scanning the potential, and the peak current of ?0.31 V (vs Ag/AgCl) was recorded. The peak current and concentration of copper accorded with linear relationship in the range of 0.04–120 ng mL?1. The relative standard deviation (for 12 ng mL?1 of copper) was 1.73 %, and the detection limit was 0.007 ng mL?1. The possible interference of some common ions was studied. The proposed method was applied to the determination of copper in water, rice, wheat, tea, milk, and tomato with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Spectrophotometry in combination with ionic liquid-based dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) was applied for the extraction and determination of formaldehyde in real samples. The method is based on the reaction of formaldehyde with methyl acetoacetate in the presence of ammonia. The variation in the absorbance of the reaction product was measured at 375?nm. An appropriate mixture of ethanol (disperser solvent) and ionic liquid, 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazoliumhexafluoro-phosphate [C6MIM][PF6] (extraction solvent) was rapidly injected into a water sample containing formaldehyde. After extraction, sedimented phase was analyzed by spectrophotometry. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.1–20?ng?mL?1 with the detection limit of 0.02?ng?mL?1 and limit of quantification of 0.08?ng?mL?1 for formaldehyde. The relative standard deviation (RSD%, n?=?5) for the extraction and determination of 0.8?ng?mL?1 of formaldehyde in the aqueous samples was 2.5%. The results showed that DLLME is a very simple, rapid, sensitive, and efficient analytical method for the determination of trace amounts of formaldehyde in wastewaters and detergents, and suitable results were obtained.  相似文献

A novel and robust method for the simultaneous determination of lead, cadmium, arsenic, and nickel in atmospheric particulate matter by multi-element electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry was developed, using zirconium–iridium coating as permanent modifier (140 μg Zr and 4 μg Ir). After 300 atomization cycles, it was necessary to add 2 μg of Ir. Due to the varying concentrations of Pb in atmospheric particulate matter, lead was monitored at two wavelengths, at the less sensitive line of 261.4 nm for high concentration samples (>20 μg?L?1) or at 283.3 nm for the low concentration samples. Matrix-matched calibration had to be performed for quantitative recoveries (96–102 %). Following this approach, the four elements were determined in atmospheric particulate matter samples from an industrial area near the city of Athens in two different time periods (cold–warm) with limits of detection of 5.5 ng?m?3 for Pb at 261.4 nm and 0.29 ng?m?3 at 283.3 nm, 0.019 ng?m?3 for Cd, 0.14 ng?m?3 for As, and 0.22 ng?m?3 for Ni. Lead, Cd, and As levels were very low, whereas Ni content was at comparable levels with other areas worldwide.  相似文献

The present research reports on the application of modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes as a new, easily prepared, and stable solid sorbent for the column preconcentration of ultra-trace amounts of cadmium in aqueous solution. Multiwalled carbon nanotubes were oxidized with concentrated HNO3 and modified with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol and then were used as a solid phase for the column preconcentration of Cd(II). Elution was carried out with 0.5 mol?L?1 HNO3. The amount of eluted Cd(II) was measured using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Various parameters such as pH, sample and eluent flow rate, eluent concentration, breakthrough volume, and interference of a great number of anions and cations on the retention of analyte on sorbent were studied. Under the optimized conditions, the calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.67 ng?L?1 to 5.0 μg?L?1 and the detection limit (3Sb, n?=?7) was 0.14 ng?L?1 in initial solution. A preconcentration factor of 300 and relative standard deviations of ±3.6 % for seven successive determinations of 3 ng of Cd(II) were achieved. The column preconcentration was successfully applied to the analysis of river water, waste water, and Persian Gulf water sample.  相似文献

The present study reports on the application of modified groundnut shell as a new, easily prepared, and stable sorbent for the extraction of trace amount of Cr(III) in aqueous solution. 2-Hydroxybenzaldiminoglycine was immobilized on groundnut shells in alkaline medium and then used as a solid phase for the column preconcentration of Cr(III). The elution was carried out with 3 mL of 2 mol?L?1 HCl. The amount of eluted Cr(III) was determined by spectrophotometry using cefaclor as a complexing reagent and by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Different experimental variables such as pH, amount of solid sorbent, volume and concentration of eluent, sample and eluent flow rate, and interference of other metal ions on the retention of Cr(III) were studied. Under the optimized conditions, the calibration curves were found to be linear over the concentration range of 13–104 and 10–75 μg?L?1 with a detection limit of 3.64 and 1.24 μg?L?1 for spectrophotometric method and FAAS, respectively. An enrichment factor of 200 and RSD of ±1.19–1.49 % for five successive determinations of 25 μg?L?1 were achieved. The column preconcentration was successfully applied to the analysis of tap water and underground water samples.  相似文献

In this study, an ultra-sensitive and highly selective, rapid flow-injection spectrophotometric method for the determination of iron (II) and total iron has been proposed. The method was based on the reaction between iron (II) and 2′, 3, 4′, 5, 7-pentahydroxyflavone in slightly acidic solution with a strong absorption at 415 nm. The carrier solution used was 1?×?10?5 M 2′, 3, 4′, 5, 7-pentahydroxyflavone in 0.1 M HAc/Ac? buffer solution at pH 4.5. Parameters that affect simultaneously the determination of iron (II) and interfering ions were tested. The relative standard deviation for the determination of 50 μg L?1 iron (II) was 0.85 % (n?=?10), and the limit of detection (blank signal plus three times the standard deviation of the blank) was 3 μg L?1, both based on injection volumes of 20 μL. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of iron (II) and total iron in water samples and ore samples. The method was verified by analysing a certified reference material Zn/Al/Cu 43XZ3F.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive, and accurate UV spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of nickel in synthetic mixture and water samples. The method is based on the complexation reaction of nickel ion with cefixime, thus leading to the formation of Ni–cefixime complex in ethanol-distilled water medium at room temperature. The complex showed the maximum absorption wavelength at 332 nm. Beer’s law is obeyed in the working concentration range of 0.447–4.019 μg?mL?1 with apparent molar absorptivity of 7.314?×?103?L?mol?1?cm?1 and Sandell’s sensitivity of 0.008 μg/cm2/0.001 absorbance unit. The limits of detection and quantitation for the proposed method are 0.016 and 0.054 μg?mL?1, respectively. The factors such as cefixime concentration and solvent affecting the complexation reaction were carefully studied and optimized. The method is validated as per the International Conference on Harmonisation guideline. The method is successfully applied to the determination of Ni(II) in synthetic mixture and wadi water samples collected from Al Rustaq. The same water samples are also analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Both methods determined the amount of Ni(II) in water sample and found to be approximately the same.  相似文献

A new spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of nanomolar level of malachite green in surface water samples. The method is based on the catalytic effect of silver nanoparticles on the oxidation of malachite green by hexacyanoferrate (III) in acetate–acetic acid medium. The absorbance is measured at 610 nm with the fixed-time method. Under the optimum conditions, the linear range was 8.0?×?10?9–2.0?×?10?7?mol?L?1 malachite green with a correlation coefficient of 0.996. The limit of detection (S/N?=?3) was 2.0?×?10?9?mol?L?1. Relative standard deviation for ten replicate determinations of 1.0?×?10?8?mol?L?1 malachite green was 1.86 %. The method is featured with good accuracy and reproducibility for malachite green determination in surface water samples without any pre-concentration and separation step.  相似文献

A simple, rapid, and efficient dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction method, followed by UV–Vis spectrophotometry was developed for the preconcentration and determination of Pd ions in water samples. Pd ions react with α-furildioxime (chelating agent) to form a hydrophobic complex. Various parameters were altered to study and optimize their effects on the extraction efficiency, such as pH, ligand concentration, the type and volume of extraction and dispersive solvents, extraction time, and salt concentration. Under optimized conditions, the method exhibited an enrichment factor (C org/C aq) of 25 and recovery more than 98 % within a very short extraction time. The linearity of the method ranged from 10 to 200 μg?L?1. The limit of detection was 1.1 μg?L?1. The relative standard deviation for the concentration of 100 μg?L?1 of Pd was 2.3 % (n?=?10). Finally, the developed method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of Pd in tap, river, mineral, and sea water samples.  相似文献

In this study, a ternary Zr(IV) system with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP) and fluoride was chosen on the basis of dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction method. Zirconium was extracted into the fine droplets of dichlorobenzene as extracting solvent. These drops dispersed as a cloud in the aqueous sample with the help of ultrasonic waves, and the procedure was done. Finally, atomic absorption spectrometry was applied for the determination of zirconium. The effects of different factors that influence complex formation and extraction, such as pH, amounts of complexing agents, type and volume of the extracting solvent, as well as sonication and centrifuging time, were optimized. Under optimum conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range of 150.0–800.0 ng mL?1 with a limit of detection of 44.0 ng mL?1. Relative standard deviation was calculated to be 4.1 % (n?=?7, c?=?400.0 ng mL?1). The enrichment factor was 80. The proposed method was successfully used to determine the zirconium in several water, wastewater, and soil samples.  相似文献

This study reports a very selective, easy, and precise method for rapid separation of trace amounts of copper in aqueous samples using octadecyl silica-bonded phase membrane disks modified by 2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(thio)]dianiline (EDTD) combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination. In addition, the synthesis and spectral characterization of EDTD have been described in detail. All the affecting experimental variables such as pH, amount of modifier, eluent type, sample and eluent flow rate, interfering ions, and disk capacity were also investigated. The target analyte (trace copper) was quantitatively retained at pH?=?4 and eluted with 6.0 mL of 0.5 M HNO3 at flow rates of 40 and 10 mL min?1 for analyte passage and elution steps, respectively, through the disks modified with 17.0 mg of EDTD. The proposed method also allows an enrichment factor of about 500 and has a detection limit of 0.005 ng mL?1. The method has been successfully applied for isolation and determination of copper in different water samples, peppers, and standard alloys.  相似文献

The developed method is based on cold-induced aggregation microextraction of Se(IV) using the 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ionic liquid as an extractant followed by spectrophotometry determination. The extraction of Se(IV) was performed in the presence of dithizone as the complexing agent. In this method, a very small amount of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate was added to the sample solution containing Se-dithizone complex. Then, the solution was kept in a thermostated bath at 50 °C for 4 min. Subsequently, the solution was cooled in an ice bath and a cloudy solution was formed. After centrifuging, the extractant phase was analyzed using a spectrophotometric detection method. Some important parameters that might affect the extraction efficiency were optimized (HCl, 0.6 mol L?1; dithizone, 4.0?×?10?6 mol L?1; ionic liquid, 100 μL). Under the optimum conditions, good linear relationship, sensitivity, and reproducibility were obtained. The limit of detection (LOD) (3Sb/m) was 1.5 μg L?1, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 1.2 % for 30 μg L?1 of Se(IV). The linear range was obtained in the range of 5–60 μg L?1. It was satisfactory to analyze rice and various water samples.  相似文献

A new complexing agent, 2-((2-((1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2yl)methoxy)phenoxy)methyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (BIMPI), was used in cloud point extraction and applied for selective pre-concentration of trace amounts of cadmium in cigarette samples. Cadmium was complexed with BIMPI in a buffer solution (pH?=?10) using Triton X-114 as surfactant and quantitatively extracted into a small volume of the surfactant-rich phase after centrifugation. Under optimized conditions (pH?=?10.0, 0.8?×?10?4?mol?L?1 BIMPI and 0.08 % (w/v) Triton X-114), calibration graph was linear in the range of 34.0–1,670.0 μg?L?1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of Cd in various cigarette (tobacco) samples which gave satisfactory results.  相似文献

The dissipation kinetics and method for estimation of residues of chlorpyrifos and lambda-cyhalothrin in cardamom were studied and developed. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation arrived for the compounds were 0.01 and 0.025 μg?g?1, respectively. Gas chromatographic response of chlorpyrifos and lambda-cyhalothrin residues was linear in the range of 0.01–0.50 μg?g?1 and the mean recovery obtained was 97.3 % for chlorpyrifos and 98.9 % for lambda-cyhalothrin with satisfactory relative standard deviation values. The mean initial residues of chlorpyrifos applied at a concentration of 0.05 % in cardamom was 2.5 μg?g?1 and the residue was 8.1 μg?g?1 after processing, with a processing factor of 3.24, while lambda-cyhalothrin when applied at 0.0025 % resulted in initial residues of 1.63 μg?g?1 that magnified to 4.86 μg?g?1 on curing, with a processing factor of 2.98. The half-life of chlorpyrifos was in the range of 5.1–5.24 days while that of lambda-cyhalothrin was in the range of 4.40–4.55 days. The processing factor arrived at in the above experiment lead to the conclusion that the residues of chlorpyrifos got magnified to 3.24–3.68 times and that of lambda-cyhalothrin got magnified to 2.98–3.46 times of initial residues, consequent to loss of weight due to dehydration during curing.  相似文献

In this research, a microfunnel-assisted headspace liquid-phase microextraction technique has been used in combination with hydride generation to determine arsenic (As) by UV–Vis spectrophotometry. The method is based on the reduction of As to arsine (AsH3) in acidic media by sodium tetrahydroborate (NaBH4) followed by its subsequent reaction with silver diethyldithiocarbamate (AgDDC) to give an absorbing complex at 510 nm. The complexing reagent (AgDDC) has been dissolved in a 1:1 (by the volume ratio) mixture of chloroform/chlorobenzene microdroplet and exposed to the generated gaseous arsine via a reversed microfunnel in the headspace of the sample solution. Several operating parameters affecting the performance of the method have been examined and optimized. Acetonitrile solvent has been added to the working samples as a sensitivity enhancement agent. Under the optimized operating conditions, the detection limit has been measured to be 0.2 ng mL?1 (based on 3sb/m criterion, n b?=?8), and the calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.5–12 ng mL?1. The relative standard deviation for eight replicate measurements was 1.9 %. Also, the effects of several potential interferences have been studied. The accuracy of the method was validated through the analysis of JR-1 geological standard reference material. The method has been successfully applied for the determination of arsenic in raw and spiked soft drink and water samples with the recoveries that ranged from 91 to 106 %.  相似文献

A new kinetic method has been developed for the determination of iodine in water samples. The method is based on the catalytic effect of I? with the oxidation of Indigo Carmine (IC) by KBrO3 in the sulfuric acid medium. The optimum conditions obtained are 0.16 M sulfuric acid, 1?×?10?3 M of IC, 1?×?10?2 M KBrO3, reaction temperature of 35°C, and reaction time of 80 s at 612 nm. Under the optimized conditions, the method allowed the quantification of I? in a range of 12–375 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.46 ng/mL. The method was applied to the determination of iodine in river and city water samples with the satisfactorily results.  相似文献

In this paper, a simple, fast, and inexpensive method is introduced for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of crystal violet (CV) and malachite green (MG) contents in aquatic samples using partial least squares regression (PLS) as a multivariate calibration technique after preconcentration by graphene oxide (GO). The method was based on the sorption and desorption of analytes onto GO and direct determination by ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometric techniques. GO was synthesized according to Hummers method. To characterize the shape and structure of GO, FT-IR, SEM, and XRD were used. The effective factors on the extraction efficiency such as pH, extraction time, and the amount of adsorbent were optimized using central composite design. The optimum values of these factors were 6, 15 min, and 12 mg, respectively. The maximum capacity of GO for the adsorption of CV and MG was 63.17 and 77.02 mg g?1, respectively. Preconcentration factors and extraction recoveries were obtained and were 19.6, 98% for CV and 20, 100% for MG, respectively. LOD and linear dynamic ranges for CV and MG were 0.009, 0.03–0.3, 0.015, and 0.05–0.5 (μg mL?1), respectively. The intra-day and inter-day relative standard deviations were 1.99 and 0.58 for CV and 1.69 and 3.13 for MG at the concentration level of 50 ng mL?1, respectively. Finally, the proposed DSPE/PLS method was successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of the trace amount of CV and MG in the real water samples.  相似文献

In the present work, a batch preconcentration technique using nanoclay with 5-(4-dimethylaminobenzylidene)rhodanine coupled with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry was developed for the separation and determination of trace amounts of palladium. In this method, the sample solution was stirred with nanoclay as an adsorbent. Then, adsorbed palladium was subsequently eluted with HCl in acetone (1.5 mol L?1) and, finally, this eluate was injected to electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Under the optimum conditions, the limit of detection and linear dynamic range were found to be 2.6 and 10.0–133 ng L?1 (in original solution), respectively. Furthermore, the enrichment factor and relative standard deviation of seven replicate determinations were 148 and ±5.1 %, respectively. This suggested method is simple, selective and sensitive and can be applied to the extraction and determination of palladium in water, tea leaves, synthetic sample and certified reference material with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The determination of mercury in crude oil and petroleum products is particularly difficult due to the volatile nature of both mercury and the matrix, which may lead to significant loss of the analyte. A simple extraction method for total mercury has been developed to determine total mercury in crude oil using cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The homogenized crude oil sample was diluted to 5, 10, and 20 % (w/w) in toluene. The diluted crude oil samples were spiked with 10 and 40 μg/kg (w/w). The samples were extracted using an oxidant/acid solution, BrCl/HCl. The mercury was extracted into the aqueous phase; the ionic mercury was then reduced to volatile elemental mercury (Hg0) by stannous chloride (SnCl2). The mercury vapor was detected by Merlin cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectrometry at a 253.7-nm wavelength. The average recoveries for mercury in spiked diluted crude oil (10 and 40 μg/kg, w/w) were between 96 and 103 %, respectively, in 5 and 10 % spiked diluted crude oil. Whereas, low recoveries (<50 %) were recorded in 20 % diluted spiked crude oil. The method detection limit was calculated as t (0.01)(n ? 1)?×?SD where t is the student's value for 99 % confidence level and standard deviation estimate with n???1 degrees of freedom. The method detection limit was found to be 0.38 μg/kg based on 5 g of diluted crude oil sample. The method is sensitive enough to determine low levels of mercury in crude oil.  相似文献

Highly rapid and selective vortex-assisted liquid–liquid microextraction based on solidification of organic drop has been used for determination of cobalt ion. 2-Nitroso-1-naphthol (2N1N) was used as a selective complexing agent to form stable cobalt–2N1N complex which can be extracted with 1-undecanol at a short time by the assistance of vortex agitator system followed by its determination using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In vortex assisted, vigorous vortex stream as well as the vibrant effect of vortex system cause very fine droplets of extraction solvent to be produced and extraction occurred at a short time. Some parameters influencing the extraction process such as pH of samples, concentration of 2-nitroso-1-naphthol, extraction solvent volume, extraction time, ionic strength and surfactant addition, as well as interferences were evaluated in detail and optimum conditions were selected. At the optimum conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range of 15 to 400 μg L?1 of cobalt ions. The relative standard deviation based on ten replicate analysis of sample solution containing 50 μg L?1 of cobalt was 3.4 %. The detection limit (calculated as the concentration equivalent to three times of the standard deviation of the blank divided by the slope of the calibration curve after preconcentration) was 5.4 μg L?1. The accuracy of the proposed method was successfully evaluated by the analysis of certified reference materials. This selective and highly rapid method was used for determination of cobalt ions in different water samples.  相似文献
