Photolysis behavior of a new herbicide propisochlor in water media as well as the effects of light sources, initial concentration of propisochlor, pH value, dissolved oxygen (DO) level, and salinity on the photolysis process was investigated. It was found that the relationship between initial concentration of propisochlor and its photodegradation rate was negatively correlated. The changes in acidity and alkalinity of the reaction medium influenced the photoreaction rate evidently. In the alkaline solution the degradation was accelerated. In the reaction media with different pH values, the photolysis followed the first-order kinetics. The presence of dissolved oxygen may promote the photolysis and there existed an optimum of dissolved oxygen concentrations. Increasing the DO level can weaken the promotion and even have an adverse effect. It was demonstrated that with dissolved oxygen the photodegradation of propisochlor followed the first-order kinetics equation. The addition of salt ions Ca2+ and Mg2+ changed the ionic strength and solvent polarity, resulting in the effect on propisochlor photolysis. The photoproducts were detected by both HPLC and GC-MS methods. It was found that photolysis products varied under different light sources. Conclusions may be reached that in the photodegradation of propisochlor, the benzene ring remained intact under irradiation of both solar light and high-pressure mercury lamp, and the amido link was relatively stable, while dechlorination was liable to take place; moreover, alpha-hydrogen at the substituent of benzene ring was active.  相似文献

The decomposition of highly toxic chemical warfare agent, sulfur mustard (bis(2-chloroethyl) sulfide or HD), has been studied by homogeneous photolysis and heterogeneous photocatalytic degradation on titania nanoparticles. Direct photolysis degradation of HD with irradiation system was investigated. The photocatalytic degradation of HD was investigated in the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles and polyoxometalates embedded in titania nanoparticles in liquid phase at room temperature (33?±?2 °C). Degradation products during the treatment were identified by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Whereas apparent first-order kinetics of ultraviolet (UV) photolysis were slow (0.0091 min?1), the highest degradation rate is obtained in the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles as nanophotocatalyst. Simultaneous photolysis and photocatalysis under the full UV radiation leads to HD complete destruction in 3 h. No degradation products observed in the presence of nanophotocatalyst without irradiation in 3 h. It was found that up to 90 % of agent was decomposed under of UV irradiation without TiO2, in 6 h. The decontamination mechanisms are often quite complex and multiple mechanisms can be operable such as hydrolysis, oxidation, and elimination. By simultaneously carrying out photolysis and photocatalysis in hexane, we have succeeded in achieving faster HD decontamination after 90 min with low catalyst loading. TiO2 nanoparticles proved to be a superior photocatalyst under UV irradiation for HD decontamination.  相似文献

The extensive utilization of antibiotics in the pharmaceutical therapies and agricultural husbandry has led to the worldwide pollution in environments. In this study the photolysis behaviors of tetracycline (TC) and toxicity of its degradation products were investigated. The results showed that TC photolysis followed first-order kinetics. The photolysis rate was found to be dependent on the initial TC concentration and increasing TC concentration from 10 to 40mgl(-1) led to the decrease of the photolysis rate constant from 0.0045min(-1) to 0.0014min(-1). TC photolysis was highly pH-dependent and strongly enhanced at high pH value. Markedly elevated TC photolysis was also observed in the presence of nitrate and dissolved organic matter. Upon irradiation for 300min, only 15% reduction of total organic carbon (TOC) occurred in spite of quick conversion of 73% of TC, suggesting that a majority of TC transformed into intermediate products without complete mineralization. The intermediate products from TC photolysis were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionisation-mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS) and the main photolysis products of TC were proposed. The toxicity of the photolysis compounds was evaluated using luminescent bacterium, and the results revealed that the toxicity increased with irradiation, indicative of a higher adversity risk of the degradation products of TC on bacteria upon photolysis.  相似文献

The effects of two humic acids (HAs) of different origins on the photodegradation of the chloroacetanilide herbicides acetochlor, propisochlor and butachlor were investigated in this study. One of the tested HAs was a standard sample that was purchased from a commercial source, and the other was isolated from the black soil of Northeast China. The photolysis of all three herbicides followed pseudo-first-order kinetics under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation conditions, regardless of whether HAs were present or not. Both HAs improved the photolysis rates of acetochlor in a dose-reversed way, whereas they inhibited butachlor degradation under all experimental concentrations. The two HAs differed in their effects on propisochlor photolysis, changing from enhancement to inhibition, depending on the origin and concentration of HAs. Element and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy analyses showed that the isolated HAs had more polysaccharides and less aliphatic groups than the commercial HAs, and it was indicated that some characteristic radicals (C═O, O─H and phenolic hydroxyls) in HAs were involved in the photolysis of the herbicides. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analyses indicated that the presence of HAs had no effects on the photolysis pathway and photoproduct species of the three herbicides.  相似文献

Purpose

Ciprofloxacin (CIP), a broad-spectrum, second-generation fluoroquinolone, has frequently been found in hospital wastewaters and effluents of sewage treatment plants. CIP is scarcely biodegradable, has toxic effects on microorganisms and is photosensitive. The aim of this study was to assess the genotoxic potential of CIP in human HepG2 liver cells during photolysis.

Methods

Photolysis of CIP was performed in aqueous solution by irradiation with an Hg lamp, and transformation products were monitored by HPLC-MS/MS and by the determination of dissolved organic carbon (DOC). The cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of CIP and of the irradiated samples were determined after 24?h of exposure using the WST-1 assay and the in vitro micronucleus (MN) test in HepG2 cells.

Results

The concentration of CIP decreased during photolysis, whereas the content of DOC remained unchanged. CIP and its transformation products were not cytotoxic towards HepG2 cells. A concentration-dependent increase of MN frequencies was observed for the parent compound CIP (lowest observed effect level, 1.2???mol?L?1). Furthermore, CIP and the irradiated samples were found to be genotoxic with a significant increase relative to the parent compound after 32?min (P?P?Conclusions Photolytic decomposition of aqueous CIP leads to genotoxic transformation products. This proves that irradiated samples of CIP are able to exert heritable genotoxic effects on human liver cells in vitro. Therefore, photolysis as a technique for wastewater treatment needs to be evaluated in detail in further studies, not only for CIP but in general.  相似文献

Photolysis of PAHs in aqueous phase by UV irradiation.   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9
The photooxidation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was investigated in an aqueous ethanolic solution irradiated with a medium-pressure mercury lamp in laboratory photoreactors equipped with a quartz immersion well. Degradation photolysis of fluorene was more efficient than sensitized photolytic oxidation in the presence of TiO2 suspensions. Photolysis kinetics was dependent on molecular weight and the presence and type of substituents. During the photolytic degradation of fluorene and its derivatives, 9-fluorenone and its corresponding derivatives, which were more resistant to photolysis, were formed.  相似文献

The present work investigated the direct and indirect photolysis of pesticide residues (atrazine, imazaquin, iprodione), in aqueous solutions and under UV-visible radiation (280-480nm). Different kinds of humic substances (HS) were added to samples in order to evaluate their behaviour as possible photocatalysts and their effect on the photolysis of pesticides. The fulvic acids were purchased from the International Humic Substances Society, and they were added to samples in concentrations ranging from 1 to 150 mgl(-1). Titanium dioxide was used as the photocatalyst, in concentration ranging from 10 to 150 mgl(-1). Pesticides photolysis were measured by UV-visible absorption spectroscopy and differential pulse polarography with all used pesticides, reaching total degradation after 2h of irradiation, thus indicating a fast direct photolysis. Photocatalysis by TiO(2) could increase the pesticides photolysis rate up to 40%. This effect, however, was not observed for imazaquin photolysis. Again, except for imazaquin, HS presence showed a positive effect in increasing pesticide degradation, but only within specific concentration ranges (below 10mg l(-1) for iprodione and about 30mgl(-1) for atrazine). Above these ranges HS induce a decrease in the pesticides photolysis rate. Spin-trapping measurements by electronic paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, using the spin-trap DMPO, showed that HS are able to photogenerate hydroxyl radicals, increasing the pesticides molecule degradation. However, the HS also react with the photogenerated hydroxyl radical, influencing the pesticide photolysis, leading to a decrease in the photolysis rate and causing it to be strongly dependent on the nature and concentration of residues in the water to be treated.  相似文献

The photodegradation of the herbicide bensulfuron-methyl on dry soil surfaces in the presence and absence of humic substances was investigated under Xe lamp irradiation. A rapid rate of disappearance occurs in the humus-removed soil. The presence of humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) reduces degradation rates and has a quenching effect on the photodecomposition of bensulfuron-methyl. The quenching effect increases with increasing HA and FA concentration in soil. HA has a slightly greater ability to quenching the photolysis compared to FA. In addition, co-effects of HA and FA on quenching the photolysis are stronger than single effects of HA or FA.  相似文献

Enhancement of p,p'-DDT photodegradation on soil surfaces using TiO2 induced by UV-light was mainly investigated in this work. After being spiked with p,p'-DDT, soil samples loaded with different doses of TiO2 (0%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 3% wt) were exposed to UV-light irradiation for 24 h. The results indicated that the photodegradation of p,p'-DDT followed the pseudo-first-order kinetics. TiO2 accelerated the photodegradation of p,p'-DDT significantly as indicated by the half-life reduction from 23.3 h to 10.4 h, corresponding to the TiO2 content from 0% to 3% respectively. In addition, the effects of soil pH, photon flux and humic substances on p,p'-DDT degradation were investigated. The photodegradation rate increased with the increase of the soil pH and photon flux. The humic substances (2% wt) inhibited the p,p'-DDT photodegradation by reducing the amount of light available to excite the p,p'-DDT and TiO2 or by quenching radicals capable of oxidizing p,p'-DDT. p,p'-DDE, p,p'-DDD and DDMU were main degradation intermediates and they were further degraded in the presence of TiO2.  相似文献

Introduction

The photocatalytic degradation of Orange G (OG) dye has been investigated using synthesised nanocrystalline ZnO as a photocatalyst and sunlight as the irradiation source. The formation of ZnO prepared from its precursor was confirmed through FT-IR and powder X-ray diffraction analyses.

Materials and methods

Surface morphology was characterised by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope analysis. Band gap energy of synthesised nanocrystalline ZnO was calculated using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). Different experimental parameters such as effects of pH, dye concentrations and mass of catalyst were standardised in order to achieve complete degradation of the dye molecules under solar light irradiation.

Results

The kinetics of oxidation of OG was also studied. The complete degradation of OG was evident after 90 min of irradiation at an initial pH of 6.86. The degradation of OG was confirmed by UV?CVisible spectrophotometer, high-pressure liquid chromatography, ESI-Mass and chemical oxygen demand analyses.

Conclusion

The adsorption of dye onto catalytic surface was analysed employing model equations such as Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, and it was found that the Langmuir isotherm model best fitted the adsorption data. The solar photodegradation of OG followed pseudo-first-order kinetics. HPLC and ESI-Mass analyses of the degraded samples suggested that the dye molecules were readily degraded under solar irradiation with nanocrystalline ZnO.  相似文献

The dissipation of 14C carbaryl in undisturbed soil cores, and of quinalphos (25EC and 20AF) after seed and soil treatments, was investigated under field use conditions, in a semi-arid groundnut field. Residues were analyzed by TLC and HPLC and additionally by LSC for 14C carbaryl. The harvested seed kernels were also tested for the presence of insecticide residues. The movement of carbaryl was limited to 15 cm depth in the loamy sand of Jaipur and was detected till 120 days (DT50 of 14.93 days) after application. Bound residues and 1-naphthol had a DT50 of 11.45 and 13.68 days, respectively. Irrespective of the three types of soil samples investigated, the principal metabolite formed on seed and soil treatments with quinalphos, was 2-hydroxyquinoxaline. With seed treatment, a thiol metabolite of quinalphos was also detected. Higher yields of groundnut were realized with quinalphos treatments in comparison to those from control. Post-harvest, no pesticide residues were found in seeds.  相似文献

This work aimed to investigate the effectiveness of ultraviolet (UV) radiation on the degradation of the antimicrobial triclocarban (TCC). We investigated the effects of several operational parameters, including solution pH, initial TCC concentration, photocatalyst TiO2 loading, presence of natural organic matter, and most common anions in surface waters (e.g., bicarbonate, nitrate, and sulfate). The results showed that UV radiation was very effective for TCC photodegradation and that the photolysis followed pseudo-first-order kinetics. The TCC photolysis rate was pH dependent and favored at high pH. A higher TCC photolysis rate was observed by direct photolysis than TiO2 photocatalysis. The presence of the inorganic ions bicarbonate, nitrate, and sulfate hindered TCC photolysis. Negative effects on TCC photolysis were also observed by the addition of humic acid due to competitive UV absorbance. The main degradation products of TCC were tentatively identified by gas chromatograph with mass spectrometer, and a possible degradation pathway of TCC was also proposed.  相似文献

The degradation photoproducts of the fungicide fenarimol obtained from irradiation of aqueous solutions with sunlight were characterised. The photoproducts resulting from samples with different exposure times were extracted and separated using chromatographic techniques. Seven main photoproducts were detected using high performance liquid chromatography with a photodiode array detector, gas chromatography with mass spectrometry detector and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Structures are suggested for possible photoproducts based on the characterisation results, minimum energy geometry of the parent compound, and the mass spectral behaviour of fenarimol. These correspond to the compounds with m/z 328 (three structural isomers (a), (b) and (c)), m/z 294 (two structural isomers (a) and (b)), m/z 292, 278 and 190. Of the various major products detected, the isomer 328(a) is seen to be particularly unstable under the action of sunlight. The most stable photoproducts are found to be those with m/z 294(a), 278 and 190. However, upon prolonged solar irradiation all of these break down to produce polar, low molecular weight compounds. Comparison with our own and other results on fenarimol photolysis indicate significant solvent effects on the process. The combination of these structural characterisation results and previous data from spectroscopic and photodegradation kinetics studies allows us to suggest some possible mechanisms for the photodegradation of fenarimol under sunlight.  相似文献

Degradation of calcium lignosulfonate using gamma-ray irradiation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

Gamma-ray irradiation was proven to be a promising means for the removal of calcium lignosulfonate (CaLS). At a dose rate of 55Gy min(-1), over 90% of CaLS was mineralized to CO(2), H(2)O and sulfates within 3-d irradiation. The degradation of CaLS with the initial CaLS concentrations ranging from 40 to 200mg l(-1) followed zero-order kinetics at the dose rates of 16-150Gy min(-1). The zero-order degradation rate constant was functionally related with irradiation dose rate. Experiments performed with or without addition of radical scavengers demonstrated that the role of *OH was predominant in CaLS degradation and the reductive species made minor contributions to CaLS degradation. Addition of appropriate amounts of H(2)O(2) significantly enhanced the mineralization of CaLS, e.g., addition of 10mM H(2)O(2) at a dose rate of 55Gy min(-1) elevated the mineralization rate constant by five times. The addition of Fenton's reagent to irradiated CaLS solutions facilitated the degradation of CaLS, but no obviously synergistic effect was observed.  相似文献

Endosulfan (1,4,5,6,7,7-hexachloro-8,9,10-trinorborn-5-en-2,3-ylenedimethylsulphite) and quinalphos (O,O-diethyl O-quinoxalin-2-yl phosphorothioate) persistence and their effect on soil microarthropods were studied after repeated applications in cotton fields. Dissipation behavior of insecticides after repeated applications was observed from 78 to 292 days after the first insecticide treatment. At any given time the concentrations of endosulfan β residues were always higher as compared to endosulfan α. From 78 to 85 days, 5.0% and 20.4% decrease in α and β endosulfan residues was observed, respectively. Endosulfan β isomer decreased up to 93.0% in 292 days. Endosulfan sulfate was detected as a major metabolite in the soil samples. Total endosulfan residues decreased by 86.6% from 78 to 292 days. The amounts of quinalphos residues were less as compared to endosulfan at any given time. The residues observed after 78 days of application were 0.88 ng g?1 d wt. soil. At the end of 145 days, a 35.0% decrease in quinalphos residue was observed, which decreased further by 50.9% in 292 days. Among the soil microarthropods studied, Acarina was more sensitive to the applied insecticides as compared to Collembola. Three days after the last treatment, up to 94.5% (p < 0.01) and 71.2% (p < 0.05) decrease in Acarina population was observed in endosulfan and quinalphos treated fields, respectively, compared to control field. In general, no noticeable change in Collembola population was observed after the insecticide treatments.  相似文献

This study evaluated the hydrolysis and photolysis kinetics of pyraclostrobin in an aqueous solution using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–photodiode array detection and identified the resulting metabolites of pyraclostrobin by hydrolysis and photolysis in paddy water using high-resolution mass spectrometry coupled with liquid chromatography. The effect of solution pH, metal ions and surfactants on the hydrolysis of pyraclostrobin was explored. The hydrolysis half-lives of pyraclostrobin were 23.1–115.5?days and were stable in buffer solution at pH 5.0. The degradation rate of pyraclostrobin in an aqueous solution under sunlight was slower than that under UV photolysis reaction. The half-lives of pyraclostrobin in a buffer solution at pH 5.0, 7.0, 9.0 and in paddy water were less than 12?h under the two light irradiation types. The metabolites of the two processes were identified and compared to further understand the mechanisms underlying hydrolysis and photolysis of pyraclostrobin in natural water. The extracted ions obtained from paddy water were automatically annotated by Compound Discoverer software with manual confirmation of their fragments. Two metabolites were detected and identified in the pyraclostrobin hydrolysis, whereas three metabolites were detected and identified in the photolysis in paddy water.  相似文献

The direct photolysis of an important endocrine disruptor compound, di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), has been investigated under monochromatic UV irradiation at 254 nm over a wide pH range (3-11). The investigation was carried out under idealized conditions and has considered both reaction kinetics and the degradation mechanism. It was found that more than 90% of DBP can be degraded within an hour of irradiation in water. A simple model has been developed and used to predict the initial DBP photolysis rate constant at different pH values and initial DBP concentrations. The major decomposition mechanism of DBP is believed to involve the hydrolytic photolysis of the carbon in the alpha and/or beta-position of the ester chain with the production of aromatic carboxylic derivatives. Additionally, multi-degradation pathways are proposed for acid-catalyzed hydrolytic photolysis (pH 3-5), which was found to be useful in explaining the photo-degradation of DBP under acidic conditions. The use of 254 nm UV to photo-degrade DBP was found to be a relatively fast and clean process, especially in neutral to basic conditions.  相似文献
