Four popular thermally desorbable adsorbents used for air sampling (Tenax TA, Tenax GR, Carbopack B, and Carbopack X) are examined for the potential to form artifacts with ozone (O3) at environmental concentrations. The performance of these adsorbents for the ketone and aldehyde species identified as O3-adsorbent artifacts was also characterized, including recovery, linearity, and method detection limits (MDLs). Using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, 13 different artifacts were identified and confirmed for both Tenax TA and Tenax GR, 9 for Carbopack B, but none for Carbopack X. Several O3 artifacts not reported previously were identified, including: pentanal, 3-hexanone, 2-hexanone, hexanal, 3-heptanone, and heptanal with Tenax TA; pentanal, 3-hexanone, 2-hexanone, hexanal, and 3-heptanone on Tenax GR; and 1-octene and 1-nonene with Carbopack B. Levels of straight-chain aldehyde artifacts rapidly diminished after a few cycles of adsorbent conditioning/O3 exposure, and concentrations could be predicted using a first-order model. Phenyl-substituted carbonyl artifacts (benzaldehyde and acetophenone) persisted on Tenax TA and GR even after 10 O3 exposure-conditioning cycles. O3 breakthrough through the adsorbent bed was most rapid in adsorbents that yielded the highest levels of artifacts. Overall, artifact composition and concentration are shown to depend on O3 concentration and dose, conditioning method, and adsorbent type and age. Calibrations showed good linearity, and most compounds had reasonable recoveries, for example, 90 +/- 15% for Tenax TA, 97 +/- 23% for Tenax GR, 101 +/- 24% for Carbopack B, and 79 +/- 25% (91 +/- 9% for n-aldehydes) for Carbopack X. Benzeneacetaldehyde recovery was notably poorer (22-63% across the four adsorbents). MDLs for several compounds were relatively high, up to 5 ng. By accounting for both artifact formation and method performance, this work helps to identify which carbonyl compounds can be measured using thermally desorbable adsorbents and which may be prone to bias because of the formation of O3-adsorbent artifacts.  相似文献

This research involved the use of response surface methodology (RSM) to investigate the adsorption of Disperse Red 167 dye onto the bamboo-based activated carbon activated with H3PO4 (PBAC) in a batch process. F400, a commercially available activated carbon, was used in parallel for comparison. Analysis of variance showed that input variables such as the contact time, temperature, adsorbent dosage and the interaction between the temperature and the contact time had a significant effect on the dye removal for both adsorbents. RSM results show that the optimal contact time, temperature, initial dye concentration and adsorbent dosage for both adsorbents were found to be 15.4 h, 50 °C, 50.0 mg L?1 and 12.0 g L?1, respectively. Under these optimal conditions, the removal efficiencies reached 90.23 % and 92.13 % for PBAC and F400, respectively, with a desirability of 0.937. The validation of the experimental results confirmed the prediction of the models derived from RSM. The adsorption followed a nonlinear pseudo-first-order model and agreed well with the Freundlich and Temkin isotherm as judged by the levels of the AICc and the Akaike weight. Furthermore, the thermodynamics analysis indicated that, for both adsorbents, the adsorption was a physical process that was spontaneous, entropy-increasing and endothermic.  相似文献

Abstract

Odorous gases associated with livestock operations are complex mixtures of hundreds if not thousands of compounds. Research is needed to know how best to sample and analyze these compounds. The main objective of this research was to compare recoveries of a standard gas mixture of 11 odorous compounds from the Carboxen/PDMS 75–μm solid–phase microextraction fibers, polyvinyl fluo–ride (PVF; Tedlar), fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer (FEP; Teflon), foil, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET; Melinex) air sampling bags, sorbent 2,b–diphenylene–oxide polymer resin (Tenax TA) tubes, and standard 6–L Stabilizer sampling canisters after sample storage for 0.5, 24, and 120 (for sorbent tubes only) hrs at room temperature. The standard gas mixture consisted of 7 volatile fatty acids (VFAs) from acetic to hexanoic, and 4 semivolatile organic compounds including p–cresol, indole, 4–ethylphenol, and 2'–aminoacetophenone with concentrations ranging from 5.1 ppb for indole to 1270 ppb for acetic acid. On average, SPME had the highest mean recovery for all 11 gases of 106.2%, and 98.3% for 0.5– and 24–hr sample storage time, respectively. This was followed by the Tenax TA sorbent tubes (94.8% and 88.3%) for 24 and 120 hr, respectively; PET bags (71.7% and 47.2%), FEP bags (75.4% and 39.4%), commercial Tedlar bags (67.6% and 22.7%), in–house–made Tedlar bags (47.3% and 37.4%), foil bags (16.4% and 4.3%), and canisters (4.2% and 0.5%), for 0.5 and 24 hr, respectively. VFAs had higher recoveries than semivolatile organic compounds for all of the bags and canisters. New FEP bags and new foil bags had the lowest and the highest amounts of chemical impurities, respectively. New commercial Tedlar bags had measurable concentrations of N,N–dimethyl acetamide and phenol. Foil bags had measurable concentrations of acetic, propionic, butyric, valeric, and hexanoic acids.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The overall objective of this pilot-scale study is to investigate the technical feasibility of the removal and destruction of organic contaminants in water using adsorption and photocatalytic oxidation. The process consists of two consecutive operational steps: (1) removal of organic contaminants using fixed-bed adsorption; and (2) regeneration of spent adsorbent using photocatalysis or steam, followed by decontamination of steam condensate using photocatalysis. The pilot-scale study was conducted to evaluate these options at a water treatment plant in Wausau (Wisconsin) for treatment of groundwater contaminated with tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethene (TCE), cis-dichloroethene (cis-DCE), toluene, ethylbenzene (EB), and xylenes. The adsorbents used were F-400 GAC and Ambersorb 563.

In the first treatment strategy, the adsorbents were impregnated with photocatalyst and used for the removal of aqueous organics. The spent adsorbents were then exposed to ultraviolet light to achieve photocatalytic regeneration. Regeneration of adsorbents using photocatalysis was observed to be not effective, probably because the impregnated photocatalyst was fouled by background organic matter present in the groundwater matrix.

In the second treatment strategy, the spent adsorbents were regenerated using steam, followed by cleanup of steam condensate using photocatalysis. Four cycles of adsorption and three cycles of steam regeneration were performed. Ambersorb 563 adsorbent was successfully regenerated using saturated steam at 160 °C within 20 hours. The steam condensate was treated using fixed-bed photo-catalysis using 1% Pt-TiO2 photocatalyst supported on silica gel. After 35 minutes of empty bed contact time, more than 95% removal of TCE, cis-DCE, toluene, EB, and xylenes was achieved, and more than 75% removal of PCE was observed.

In the case of activated carbon adsorbent, steam regeneration was not effective, and a significant loss in adsorbent capacity was observed.  相似文献

The removal of triphenyltin chloride from contaminated simulated seawater with adsorption method was discussed. The adsorbents used are fly ash, nSiO2, and nSiO2/fly ash composite. The results showed that the adsorption of the adsorbents increases with increase in the adsorbent dose, contact time, pH, stirring speed, initial TPT concentration, and decreased with increase in temperature. The adsorption fitted well with the Freundlich isotherm, showing that the adsorbent and TPT combined with function groups and the adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The thermodynamic parameters were also evaluated. Optimal conditions for the adsorption of TPT from simulated seawater were applied to TPT removal from natural seawater. A higher removal efficiency of TPT (>99 %) was obtained for the nSiO2/fly ash composite but not for fly ash and nSiO2.  相似文献

Bursa is one of the largest cities of Turkey and it hosts 17 organized industrial zones. Parallel to the increase in population, rapidly growing energy consumption, and increased numbers of transport vehicles have impacts on the air quality of the city. In this study, regularly calibrated automatic samplers were employed to get the levels of air pollution in Bursa. The concentrations of CH4 and N-CH4 as well as the major air pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, NO, NO2, NOx, SO2, CO, and O3, were determined for 2016 and 2017 calendar years. Their levels were 1641.62?±?718.25, 33.11?±?5.45, 42.10?±?10.09, 26.41?±?9.01, 19.47?±?16.51, 46.73?±?16.56, 66.23?±?32.265, 7.60?±?3.43, 659.397?±?192.73, and 51.92?±?25.63 µg/m3 for 2016, respectively. Except for O3, seasonal concentrations were higher in winter and autumn for both years. O3, CO, and SO2 had never exceeded the limit values specified in the regulations yet PM10, PM2.5, and NO2 had violated the limits in some days. The ratios of CO/NOx, SO2/NOx, and PM2.5/PM10 were examined to characterize the emission sources. Generally, domestic and industrial emissions were dominated in the fall and winter seasons, yet traffic emissions were effective in spring and summer seasons. As a result of the correlation process between Ox and NOx, it was concluded that the most important source of Ox concentrations in winter was NOx and O3 was in summer.  相似文献

A series of porous γ-Al2O3 materials was prepared by solution-combustion and ball-milling processes. The as-prepared powders were physicochemically characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and N2 physisorption measurements and their performances in CO2 adsorption at different pressures (0.5 to 1.5 MPa) and temperatures (40 to 60ºC) were investigated. It was found that γ-Al2O3 synthesized by the solution-combustion process and ball milled at 10 hr exhibited the best CO2 adsorption performance at 60ºC and 1.5 MPa, achieving a maximum of 1.94 mmol/g compared to the four studied materials, as a result of their interesting microstructure and surface properties (i.e., nanocrystallinity, specific surface area, narrow pore size distribution, and large total pore volume). Our study shows that the γ-Al2O3 prepared by solution combustion followed by ball milling presents a fairly good potential adsorbent for efficient CO2 capture.

Implications: In this work, γ-Al2O3 materials were successfully obtained by solution combustion and modified via ball milling. These improved materials were systematically investigated as solid adsorbents of accessible surface areas, large pore volumes, and narrow pore size distribution for the CO2 capture. These studied solid adsorbents can provide an additional contribution and effort to develop an efficient CO2 capture method as means of alleviating the serious global warning problem.  相似文献

Abstract

This study selected biosolids from a petrochemical waste-water treatment plant as the raw material. The sludge was immersed in 0.5-5 M of zinc chloride (ZnCl2) solutions and pyrolyzed at different temperatures and times. Results indicated that the 1-M ZnCl2-immersed biosolids pyrolyzed at 500 °C for 30 min could be reused and were optimal biosolid adsorbents for benzene adsorption. Pore volume distribution analysis indicated that the mesopore contributed more than the macropore and micropore in the biosolid adsorbent. The benzene adsorption capacity of the biosolid adsorbent was 65 and 55% of the G206 (granular-activated carbon) and BPL (coal-based activated carbon; Calgon, Carbon Corp.) activated carbons, respectively. Data from the adsorption and desorption cycles indicated that the benzene adsorption capacity of the biosolid adsorbent was insignificantly reduced compared with the first-run capacity of the adsorbent; therefore, the biosolid adsorbent could be reused as a commercial adsorbent, although its production cost is high.  相似文献

In this study, Chlorella vulgaris, Ganoderma lucidum, and endophytic bacteria were co-cultivated with the stimulation of strigolactone analogs GR24 to prepare pellets. During the purification of biogas slurry and biogas, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were introduced to enhance the removal efficiencies of nutrients and CO2. The results showed that both GR24 and MWCNTs affected the purification of biogas slurry and biogas. The maximum chemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and CO2 removal efficiencies of the Chlorella vulgaris-Ganoderma lucidum-endophytic bacterial symbionts were 82.57 ± 7.96% (P < 0.05), 82.14 ± 7.87% (P < 0.05), 84.27 ± 7.96% (P < 0.05), and 63.93 ± 6.22% (P < 0.05), respectively, with the induction of 10−9 M GR24 and 1 mg L−1 MWCNTs. Moreover, the growth and photosynthetic performance of the symbionts were consistent with the removal effects. The Chlorella vulgaris-Ganoderma lucidum-endophytic bacterial symbionts obtained high growth rates and enzyme activity with the maximum growth rate of 0.365 ± 0.03 d−1, mean daily productivity of 0.182 ± 0.016 g L−1 d−1, and carbonic anhydrase activity of 31.07 ± 2.75 units, respectively. These results indicated that an appropriate concentration of GR24 and MWCNTs could promote the growth of symbionts, reinforce the purification effects of biogas slurry and biogas, and provide a new idea for the simultaneous purification of wastewater and biogas.

This study presents surface ozone (O3) and carbon monoxide (CO) measurements conducted at Bhubaneswar from December 2010 to November 2012 and attempts for the very first time a health risk assessment of the atmospheric trace gases. Seasonal variation in average 24 h O3 and CO shows a distinct winter (December to February) maxima of 38.98?±?9.32 and 604.51?±?145.91 ppbv, respectively. O3 and CO characteristics and their distribution were studied in the form of seasonal/diurnal variations, air flow patterns, inversion conditions, and meteorological parameters. The observed winter high is likely due to higher regional emissions, the presence of a shallower boundary layer, and long-range transport of pollutants from the Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP). Large differences between daytime and nighttime O3 values during winter compared to other seasons suggest that photochemistry is much more active on this site during winter. O3 and CO observations are classified in continental and marine air masses, and continental influence is estimated to increase O3 and CO by up to 20 and 120 ppbv, respectively. Correlation studies between O3 and CO in various seasons indicated the role of CO as one of the O3 precursors. Health risk estimates predict 48 cases of total premature mortality in adults due to ambient tropospheric O3 during the study period. Comparatively low CO concentrations at the site do not lead to any health effects even during winter. This study highlights the possible health risks associated with O3 and CO pollution in Bhubaneswar, but these results are derived from point measurements and should be complemented either with regional scale observations or chemical transport models for use in design of mitigation policies.  相似文献

Two types of diffusive samplers, both of which are compatible with thermal desorption, but differ in their geometry—SKC-Ultra (badge-type) and Radiello (radial symmetry-type)—were evaluated indoors and outdoors under varying temperature, humidity and wind speed conditions, using the graphitized adsorbents Carbopack X or Carbograph 5 to measure 1,3-butadiene and benzene in ambient air. The results obtained by diffusive sampling were compared with results obtained using a conventional active sampling method over both long (1 week) and shorter periods (6–24 h). Analysis and detection were performed using an automatic thermal desorber (ATD) connected to a gas chromatograph-flame ionization detector (GC/FID). Results from each sampler and adsorbent combination were examined using ordinary or multiple linear regression analysis. The overall uncertainty (OU) was also determined. In general, the results obtained with both samplers showed good agreement with those obtained by active sampling. Carbopack X appeared to be a more efficient adsorbent than Carbograph 5 for 1,3-butadiene, but the two adsorbents were equivalent for benzene. No effects of either humidity or air velocity were observed. Minor temperature effects were observed for both samplers for 1,3-butadiene. In summary, the results confirmed the accuracy of sampling rates previously determined for the two samplers and adsorbents. We consider the two samplers to be suitable for stationary and personal monitoring for the general population of 1,3-butadiene and benzene in various environments, indoors and outdoors. They are almost independent of meteorological conditions and may be suitable for monitoring industrial atmospheres.  相似文献

The main objective of this research was to compare recoveries of a standard gas mixture of 11 odorous compounds from the Carboxen/PDMS 75-microm solid-phase microextraction fibers, polyvinyl fluoride (PVF; Tedlar), fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer (FEP; Teflon), foil, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET; Melinex) air sampling bags, sorbent 2,b-diphenylene-oxide polymer resin (Tenax TA) tubes, and standard 6-L Stabilizer sampling canisters after sample storage for 0.5, 24, and 120 (for sorbent tubes only) hrs at room temperature. The standard gas mixture consisted of 7 volatile fatty acids (VFAs) from acetic to hexanoic, and 4 semivolatile organic compounds including p-cresol, indole, 4-ethylphenol, and 2'-aminoacetophenone with concentrations ranging from 5.1 ppb for indole to 1270 ppb for acetic acid. This was followed by the Tenax TA sorbent tubes (94.8% and 88.3%) for 24 and 120 hr, respectively; PET bags (71.7% and 47.2%), FEP bags (75.4% and 39.4%), commercial Tedlar bags (67.6% and 22.7%), in-house-made Tedlar bags (47.3% and 37.4%), foil bags (16.4% and 4.3%), and canisters (4.2% and 0.5%), for 0.5 and 24 hr, respectively. VFAs had higher recoveries than semivolatile organic compounds for all of the bags and canisters. New FEP bags and new foil bags had the lowest and the highest amounts of chemical impurities, respectively. New commercial Tedlar bags had measurable concentrations of N,N-dimethyl acetamide and phenol. Foil bags had measurable concentrations of acetic, propionic, butyric, valeric, and hexanoic acids.  相似文献

Laboratory and field experiments were performed to evaluate integrative measurement methods for atmospheric nitrates, sulphate and sulphur dioxide. Denuder tubes and several filter media were tested under laboratory and field conditions. Effects of sampling variables such as temperature and relative humidity, flow rates, concentration, loading capacity and artifacts due to NO, NO2 and SO2 were also evaluated. The integrative filter sampling method and the ion chromatographic analytical procedure gave a measurement precision (relative standard deviation) of ±11.5 percent for particulate NO3 ? on Teflon and ±15.6 percent for gaseous HNO3 on nylon; for both these constituents, the detection limit was about 0.1 μ m?3.  相似文献

Products of the gas-phase reactions of OH radicals (in the presence of NO) and O3 with the biogenic organic compound 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol have been investigated using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID), combined gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), gas chromatography with Fourier transform infrared detection (GC-FTIR), in situ FT-IR spectroscopy and in situ atmospheric pressure ionization tandem mass spectrometry (API-MS/MS). Formaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanal and acetone were identified from both the OH radical and O3 reactions, glycolaldehyde and organic nitrate (s) were also observed from the OH radical reaction, and the OH radical formation yield from the O3 reaction was measured. The formaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanal, glycolaldehyde, acetone and organic nitrate yields from the OH radical reaction were 0.29±0.03, 0.19±0.07, 0.61±0.09, 0.58±0.04 and 0.05±0.02, respectively, and the formaldehyde, 2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanal and OH radical formation yields from the O3 reaction were 0.29±0.03, 0.30±0.06 (0.47 from FT-IR measurements) and 0.19 (uncertain to a factor of 1.5), respectively. Acetone was also observed from the O3 reaction, but appeared to be formed from secondary reactions. Reaction mechanisms are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Terephthalic acid (TA) is considered as a refractory model compound. For this reason, the TA degradation usually requires a prolonged reaction time to achieve mineralization. In this study, vanadium oxide (VxOy) supported on titanium oxide (TiO2) served as a photocatalyst in the ozonation of the TA with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), having a bandwidth centered at 452 nm. The modified catalyst (VxOy/TiO2) in combination with ozone and LEDs improved the TA degradation and its by-products. The results obtained by this system were compared with photolysis, single ozonation, catalytic ozonation, and photocatalytic ozonation of VxOy/TiO2 with UV lamp. The LED-based photocatalytic ozonation showed almost the same decomposition efficiency of the TA, but it was better in comparison with the use of UV lamp. The oxalic acid accumulation, as the final product of the TA decomposition, was directly influenced by either the presence of VxOy or/and the LED irradiation. Several by-products formed during the TA degradation, such as muconic, fumaric, and oxalic acids, were identified. Besides, two unidentified by-products were completely removed during the observed time (60 min). It was proposed that the TA elimination in the presence of VxOy/TiO2 as catalyst was carried out by the combination of different mechanisms: molecular ozone reaction, indirect mechanism conducted by ·OH, and the surface complex formation.  相似文献

The stomatal resistance, measured with a ventilated diffusion porometer at various times before, during, and after exposure to 20–25 pphm ozone, was followed in water-stressed or well-watered beans, beans exposed at either low (37%) or high (73%) atmospheric humidity, and two tobacco cultivars exposed at the same two humidities. The two tobacco cultivars that were compared were the 03-susceptible Bel W-3 and the 03-resistant Consolidated L. The stomata of the water-stressed but unwilted bean plants closed quickly from a resistance of 2.9 ± 0.3 sec/cm to 8.4 ± 1.0 sec/cm when exposed to O3 whereas those in the unstressed plants closed slowly from a resistance of 2.5 ± 0.6 sec/cm to 5.2 ± 0.8 sec/cm after exposure to O3 for 10 min. Exposure to 03 for 30 min in the moist atmosphere caused no change in stomatal resistance of the bean plants whereas in the dry atmosphere the stomata closed from a resistance of 3.7 ± 0.4 sec/cm to 6.7 ± 0.6 sec/cm, but opened again when ozonation was terminated. With tobacco exposed to O3 in a dry atmosphere the stomata of the 03-resistant cultivar closed more rapidly than the 03-susceptible variety, whereas in a moist atmosphere the stomata of both cultivars closed slowly and equally during the 60 min of ozonation.  相似文献

We describe an experimental system and techniques for sampling and analyzing biogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC). The system uses a Teflon chamber to enclose a single branch of a tree. Temperature, photosynthetic active radiation (PAR), relative humidity and carbon dioxide concentration are continuously monitored with a time resolution of five minutes. VOCs are sampled on tubes containing solid adsorbents (Tenax TA and Carbotrap) with a time resolution of 1 h. Composition and concentration of VOC emissions are measured with a gas chromatographic system equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) for quantitative and a mass spectrometer (MS) for qualitative analysis. To calibrate the system, a diffusion source was built to produce standard mixtures of up to 36 different compounds with mixing ratios at low concentrations and high accuracy. The diffusion rates were monitored over 17 months and showed variations between 0.2 and 7.6% for monoterpenes (expect for α-phellandrene, α-terpinene and γ-terpinene) and between 10.6 and 22.6% for sesquiterpenes. FID response factors calculated from calibration measurements were corrected using correction factors based on the effective carbon number concept. The individual response factors of 23 compounds were combined to a mean response factor (RFm) with a value of 23,100 μV s ng−1 and a standard deviation of 9%. The system described here was used to measure VOC emission rates of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) in 1998 and 1999.  相似文献

The current problem of excess impurities in industrial phosphoric acid (IPA) 54 % P2O5 makes phosphates industries look toward low-cost but efficient adsorbents. In the present study, iron-oxide-modified bentonite (Fe-PILB) was prepared and investigated as a possible adsorbent for the removal of organic matter (OM) like humic acid (HA), chromium (Cr(III)), and zinc (Zn(II)) from IPA aqueous solutions. These adsorbents were characterized using XRD, TEM, and BET. The adsorption of impurities is well described by the pseudo-second-order model. The results indicate that Fe-PILB has a good ability to resist co-existing anions and the low-pH condition of IPA and owns a relatively high-removal capacity of 80.42 and 25 % for OM, Cr(III), and Zn(II). The mechanism of adsorption may be described by the ligand and ion exchange that happened on the active sites. The selected order of adsorption OM?>?Cr3+?>?Zn2+ showed the importance of the competitive phenomenon onto bentonite materials’ pore adsorption. For the adsorption of OM at the low pH of IPA, H-bond complexation was the dominant mechanism. From the adsorption of heavy metals and OM complex compounds contained in IPA 54 % on Fe-PILB, the bridging of humic acid between bentonite and heavy metals (Zn(II) or Cr(III)) is proposed as the dominant adsorption mechanism (bentonite-HA-Me). Overall, the results obtained in this study indicate Fe-pillared bentonite possesses a potential for the practical application of impurity (OM, Zn(II), and Cr(III)) removal from IPA aqueous solutions.  相似文献

A rapid biological method for the determination of the bioavailability of naphthalene was developed and its value as an alternative to extraction-based chemical approaches demonstrated. Genetically engineered whole-cell biosensors are used to determine bioavailable naphthalene and their responses compared with results from Tenax extraction and chemical analysis. Results show a 1:1 correlation between biosensor results and chemical analyses for naphthalene-contaminated model materials and sediments, but the biosensor assay is much faster. This work demonstrates that biosensor technology can perform as well as standard chemical methods, though with some advantages including the inherent biological relevance of the response, rapid response time, and potential for field deployment. A survey of results from this work and the literature shows that bioavailability under non-equilibrium conditions nonetheless correlates well with Koc or Kd. A rationale is provided wherein chemical resistance is speculated to be operative.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Activated carbonaceous were prepared from high-carbon, abandoned straw biomass. With hydrogen sulfide gas as the target pollutant, single factor experiments were employed to assess the effects of activator type, activation temperature, activation time, and liquid-material ratio on the adsorption performance of the prepared carbonaceous adsorbent. The materials were characterized using elemental analysis, SEM, FTIR, and BET. The results showed -OH, -CH-, and -C = O groups exist on the surface of the prepared adsorbent, specific surface area can reach 1104.84 m2?g?1, total pore volume can reach 0.261 cm3?g?1 and, where the pore volume is greater than 80%, well-developed pore structures were present that facilitated adsorption. The experimental results showed the adsorption time could reach 198 min with optimal ZnCl2 activator concentration (30%), carbonization temperature (550°C), and liquid-to-material ratio (3:1). Compared with the existing activated carbon adsorbents, the adsorption effects and preparation cost of this absorbent are advantageous, and the absorbent has prospects for broad market application.  相似文献
