Theoretical and empirical studies have been conducted on the genuine saving (GS) based on neoclassical economic theory to
assess sustainable development (SD). However, only market prices and statistical national accounts have been used in empirical
studies due to limited data availability. The data availability limits to measure GS only in the past and current, causing a wide gap with theoretical results. In this paper, we propose computing GS using an integrated assessment model
(IAM) as connected to the mainframe model of macroeconomy. This enables us to use shadow prices, rather than market prices,
obtained through an IAM, which ensures substantial consistency among variables. An example would be endogenous capital–output
ratio and the rate of TFP. Also, our indicator of GS is more comprehensive in that they now account for various resources,
environmental degradation, and land use. Our simulation results, with a particular focus on GS with population change (GSn)
and with technological change as well (GSnt), show a sustainable future for up to the end of the century thanks to declining
population in the latter half of the century and technological progress, although GS without accounting for population and
technology tend to be negative, driven by, among others, capital depreciation and net primary productivity degraded by land

The co-pyrolysis of sawdust and polyethylene was carried out in a TG-DTG system and a U-shape tube reactor. This research was focused on the interaction between sawdust and polyethylene during the pyrolysis process. Concentration of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) may affect its degradation kinetics in advanced oxidation systems, and combinations of two or more systems can be more effective for its mineralization at low concentration levels. Degradations and mineralizations of 0.045mM 2,4-D using O(3), O(3)/UV, UV/TiO(2) and O(3)/UV/TiO(2) systems were compared, and influence of reaction temperature on the mineralization in O(3)/UV/TiO(2) system was investigated. 2,4-D degradations by O(3), O(3)/UV and UV/TiO(2) systems were similar to the results of earlier investigations with higher 2,4-D concentrations. The degradations and total organic carbon (TOC) removals in the four systems were well described by the first-order reaction kinetics. The degradation and removal were greatly enhanced in O(3)/UV/TiO(2) system, and further enhancements were observed with larger O(3) supplies. The enhancements were attributed to hydroxyl radical (()OH) generation from more than one reaction pathway. The degradation and removal in O(3)/UV/TiO(2) system were very efficient with reaction temperature fixed at 20 degrees C. It was suspected that reaction temperature might have influenced ()OH generation in the system, which needs further attention. 相似文献

This study aims to provide the approach for inherent safety design of onshore LNG plants to be applied at the very early stages (concept definition phase) of the project development. Onshore LNG plant development project starts from the “Concept Definition” phase, where financial feasibility is estimated and major conditions, such as site location and plant foot print, are set.The inherent safety design basic criteria and design measures should be identified and selected when setting the basic conditions during the Concept Definition phase of the project development, such as the site location (relative location from populated areas), site condition (prevailing wind direction) and plant production capacity (number of process train, number of product tanks). The safety measures, which are usually not fully developed at the project early stages in the current design execution practices, are the emergency systems, which mitigate an accident escalation, the modularized plant and layout, and the tank selection.The inherent safety design measures discusses in this paper were identified based on the categories of plot plan, emergency system, and module plant application.The proposed approach will contribute to improve inherent safety design of onshore LNG plants and it will also yield schedule and cost benefits. 相似文献

Phytoplankton standing crop (chlorophyll a) and primary productivity were recorded, and zooplankton biomass was estimated in the two large bays of Australia, the Great Australian Bight on the south coast (December, 1965) and the Gulf of Carpentaria on the north coast (December, 1968). In the Gulf of Carpentaria, the phytoplankton standing crop (average, 27.3 mg chlorophyll a m-2) and primary productivity (average, 133.1 mg C m-2 h-1), as well as zooplankton biomass (average, 305.3 mg wet weight m-3) are much higher than in the Great Australian Bight (12.1 mg chlorophyll a m-2, 18.2 mg C m-2 h-1, 7.1 mg wet weight m-3, respectively). The unexpectedly low productivity values in the Great Australian Bight are attributable to environmental conditions of this bay, which obtains neither replenishment of nutrients from the land nor receives upwelling of deep water. 相似文献

Montastraea annularis, M. faveolata, and M.␣franksi are three recently separated species that together dominate reefs of the tropical western Atlantic. Despite morphological,
life-history, ecological and genetic differences, the legitimacy of their status as separate species has been questioned.
This controversy stems from both the scarcity of unambiguous, diagnostic differences among them, and from the possibility
of extensive hybridization associated with their approximately synchronous reproduction in sympatry. Here we report on fertilization
trials and the timing of spawning, both of which suggest that the potential for hybridization may be limited. Crosses between
M. faveolata (the most genetically distinctive taxon) and the other two species were largely unsuccessful, as were selfed matings for
all three species. M. annularis and M. franksi showed no evidence of fertilization barriers, but the timing of spawning typically differed between them by 1 to 2 h. We
also found that spawning times in the field of M. annularis and M. faveolata were non-overlapping in 1995, and that the timing of spawning in M. annularis could be experimentally shifted forward by simulating earlier than natural sunsets. These findings from Panamá and Honduras,
particularly given their consistency with comparable observations and experiments elsewhere, provide evidence of reproductive
isolation and support the separate species status of these three taxa. Some hybridization may occur under natural conditions
at these sites, particularly between M. annularis and M.␣franksi. Rampant genetic interchange among these taxa in Central America seems unlikely, however, in the light of the concordant
associations between morphology, reproductive biology and other characters which are observed.

The pulsed high-voltage discharge is a new advanced oxidation technology for water treatment. Methyl Orange (MO) dye wastewater was chosen as the target object. Some investigations were conducted on MO decoloration including the discharge characteristics of the multi-needle reactor, parameter optimization, and the degradation mechanism. The following results were obtained. The color group of the azo dye MO was effectively decomposed by water surface plasma. The decoloration rate was promoted with the increase of treatment time, peak voltage, and pulse frequency. When the initial conductivity was 1700 μS/cm, the decoloration rate was the highest. The optimum distance between the needle electrodes and the water surface was 1 mm, the distance between the grounding electrode and the water surface was 28 mm, and the number of needle electrodes and spacing between needles were 24 and 7.5 mm, respectively. The decoloration rate of MO was affected by the gas in the reactor and varied in the order oxygen > air> argon > nitrogen, and the energy yield obtained in this investigation was 0.45 g/kWh. 相似文献

Nitrate concentrations in 326 recent vegetables and berries sold in Niigata, located in central Japan, were investigated. Maximum nitrate concentrations of 6600 mg kg?1 were detected in samples of komatsuna (Brassica campestris var. perviridis) and mizuna (B. campestris L.). Mean concentrations ranged from 4 mg kg?1(blueberry) to 3500 mg kg?1 (mizuna). Concentrations in spinach ranged from 10 to 6000 mg kg?1 (mean 1500 mg kg?1). Nitrate intake from spinach and Japanese radish (Raphanus sativus) were estimated to be 0.7 and 0.8 mg kg?1 day?1, respectively. These values are equivalent to 19% and 23% of the acceptable daily intake (ADI). Nitrate intake at the 90th percentile was estimated to be 1.3 mg kg?1 day?1 (35% of the ADI) from spinach and 1.6 mg kg?1 day?1 (43% of the ADI) from Japanese radish. 相似文献
