Ultrasonic irradiation is considered an effective way to increase mass transfer between immiscible liquid–liquid phases in a heterogeneous system leading to faster transesterification and higher yield and saving excess methanol and catalyst. In this study, the transesteri?cation of hazelnut oil with methanol and ethanol was performed in the presence of potassium hydroxide or sodium methoxide as a catalyst using two types of ultrasonic irradiation with a probe (20 kHz, 200 W) and a bath (35 kHz, 400 W); a conventional production method was also used. The reaction time, alcohol:oil molar ratio, catalyst type (KOH or NaOCH3), and catalyst amount (wt.% of oil) were studied as experimental parameters. The highest methyl ester conversion was obtained as 98.12% by using ultrasonic probe at a 5:1 methanol:oil molar ratio with KOH 1 wt.% of oil as catalyst in 20-min reaction time at autogenous temperature. The application of ultrasonic irradiation by using a probe decreased the level of energy consumption, showing that this method may be a promising alternative compared with the conventional production method.  相似文献

Leachate from composite samples of automobile-scrap shredder waste was analyzed for trace elements by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, according to the USEPA Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure for solid waste (TCLP). Analytical results confirmed the existence of several environmentally important elements such as barium, cadmium, copper and lead. However, the concentrations of these elements were below the USEPA regulatory limits for the leachate of solid waste. It was also found that representative average values for trace elements, as well as their variability in the leachate of such heterogeneous solid waste, can be arrived at by analyzing composite samples rather than single samples, if a stratified sample selection and composition plan were implemented. Effect of extraction fluids used in the TCLP method was also investigated. The results indicated that the more acidic extraction fluid can leach more of the elements from the shredder waste, regardless of the selection criterion specified in the method.  相似文献

Es wird über Kontaminationen mit synthetischen benzoiden Nitromoschus-Verbindungen Moschus Xylol, Moschus Keton, Moschus Ambrette, Moschus Mosken in verschiedenen Fischarten aus Binnengew?ssern und Forellen aus Aquakulturen, Muscheln, Muttermilch und Humanfett berichtet. Bromocyclen wurde in Sü?wasserfischen — besonders Forellen aus dem Ausland — gefunden. Die Nitromoschus-Verbindungen werden in gro?en Mengen unter anderem als Duftstoffe in Waschmitteln, Seifen, Cremes und Lotions verwendet. Es wird über ?kotoxikologische Wirkungen (Fischtoxizit?t), den biologischen Abbau und das Biokonzentrationspotential dieser Umweltchemikalien in Fischen berichtet. Neben der oralen Aufnahme über die Nahrung mu? beim Menschen die Hautresorption und die inhalative Aufnahme von Nitromoschus-Verbindungen berücksichtigt werden. Um diese Rückst?nde im Menschen und in Lebensmitteln zu reduzieren bzw. zu vermeiden, wird an die Hersteller von Nitromoschus-Verbindungen bzw. an die Riechstoff-, Kosmetik- und Reinigungsmittelindustrie appelliert, aus Vorsorgegründen auf die Herstellung bzw. den Einsatz von Nitromoschus-Verbindungen und Bromocyclen in allen ihren Produkten zu verzichten.  相似文献

This study was carried out to assess the radiological impact of Syrian phosphogypsum (PG) piles in the compartments of the surrounding ecosystem. Estimating the distribution of naturally occurring radionuclides (i.e. (226)Ra, (238)U, (232)Th, (210)Po and (210)Pb) in the raw materials, product and by-product of the Syrian phosphate fertilizer industry was essential. The data revealed that the concentrations of the radionuclides were enhanced in the treated phosphate ore. In PG, (226)Ra content had a mean activity of 318 Bq kg(-1). The uranium content in PG was low, ca. 33 Bq kg(-1), because uranium remained in the phosphoric acid produced. Over 80% of (232)Th, (210)Po and (210)Pb present partitioned in PG. The presence of PG piles did not increase significantly the concentration of (222)Rn or gamma rays exposure dose in the area studied. The annual effective dose was only 0.082 mSv y(-1). The geometric mean of total suspended air particulates (TSP) ca. 85 μg m(-3). The activity concentration of the radionuclides in filtrates and runoff waters were below the detection limits (ca. 0.15 mBq L(-1) for (238)U, 0.1 mBq L(-1) for (232)Th and 0.18 mBq L(-1) for both of (210)Po and (210)Pb); the concentration of the radionuclides in ground water samples and Qattina Lake were less than the permissible limits set for drinking water by the World Health Organisation, WHO, (10, 1 and 0.1 Bq L(-1) for (238)U, (232)Th and both of (210)Po and (210)Pb, respectively). Eastern sites soil samples of PG piles recorded the highest activity concentrations, i.e. 26, 33, 28, 61 and 40 Bq kg(-1) for (226)Ra, (238)U, (232)Th, (210)Po and (210)Pb, respectively, due to the prevailing western and north-western wind in the area, but remained within the natural levels reported in Syrian soil (13-32 Bq kg(-1) for (226)Ra, 24.9-62.2 Bq kg(-1) for (238)U and 10-32 Bq kg(-1) for (232)Th). The impact of PG piles on plants varied upon the plant species. Higher concentrations of the radionuclides were recorded for grass in comparison to broad-leaved plants. Among the species that grow naturally on PG piles, Inula, Ecballium and Polygonium may be radionuclides accumulators. A determined effort is needed at a national level to achieve a common and coherent approach to regulate PG piles or to consider it a resource material rather than waste or residue.  相似文献

In this investigation, Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were prepared by the alkalinization of an aqueous medium containing ferrous sulfate and ferric chloride. In the next step, a Fe3O4–AgCl magnetic nanocomposite was fabricated by the drop-by-drop addition of silver nitrate solution into a NaCl solution containing Fe3O4 MNPs. All prepared nanoparticles were characterized by transition electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Both particle types varied in size from 2.5 to 20?nm, with an average size of 7.5?nm for Fe3O4 MNPs and 12.5?nm for Fe3O4–AgCl nanocomposites. The antibacterial effect of the Fe3O4 MNPs and fabricated Fe3O4–AgCl nanocomposites against Escherichia coli (ATCC 35218) were investigated by conventional serial agar dilution method using the Müller–Hinton Agar medium. The minimum inhibitory concentration was 4?mg?mL?1 for Fe3O4 MNPs and 2?mg?mL?1 for the Fe3O4–AgCl magnetic nanocomposites. Time-kill course assays showed that the Fe3O4–AgCl magnetic nanocomposites successfully killed all inoculated bacterial cells during an exposure time of 60?min. The antibacterial activity of recycled Fe3O4–AgCl magnetic nanocomposites over four 60?min cycles of antibacterial treatment was further tested against E. coli by the colony-forming unit (CFU) method. The antibacterial efficiency of the nanocomposites was constant over two cycles of antibacterial testing.  相似文献
