Organizational scholars have recently shifted their attention to examining organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as a group-level phenomenon. Adopting the input-mediator-outcome model of group performance, we examined antecedents and intermediate processes that predict group-level OCB (GOCB) in small work groups. The results, based on data from 62 work groups representing a variety of industries, revealed that demographic faultlines based on relation-oriented attributes (gender, age, and race) and a task-related attribute (tenure) had differentiated relationships with task and relationship conflict, which mediated the relationships between faultlines and group outcomes (GOCB and group performance). Both task and relationship conflict were negative predictors of group performance. However, task conflict increased GOCB, whereas relationship conflict decreased it. The present study offers evidence of the relationship between demographic faultlines and various group processes and outcome variables in natural work groups. Drawing on multiple group‐level theories, we explored boundary conditions of the relationship between positive group affective tone (PGAT) and team creativity. We collected data from members and leaders of 68 research and development teams and performed hierarchical linear modeling analyses to test our hypotheses. Consistent with the “group‐centrism” perspective, we found that PGAT was beneficial for team creativity only when team trust was low; when trust was high, PGAT had a negative relationship with team creativity. In accord with the “dual‐tuning” perspective, the positive effect of PGAT on creativity was present only when team trust was low but negative group affective tone was high. We discussed the theoretical and practical implications. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The Expansion of Farm-Based Plantation Forestry in Vietnam 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This study targets plantation forestry by farm households (small holders), which is increasing globally and most rapidly in
China and Vietnam. By use of an interdisciplinary approach on three study sites in Vietnam, we examined the trends in farmers’
tree planting over time, the various pre-requisites for farm-based plantation forestry and its impact on rural people’s livelihood
strategies, socio-economic status, income and security. The findings indicated a change from subsistence to cash-based household
economy, diversification of farmers’ incomes and a transformation of the landscape from mainly natural forests, via deforestation
and shifting cultivation, to a landscape dominated by farm-based plantations. The trend of transformation, over a period of
some 30 years, towards cash crops and forestry was induced by a combination of policy, market, institutional, infrastructural
and other conditions and the existence of professional farming communities, and was most rapid close to the industrial market. 相似文献

AbstractIn this study, The essential oil of flowers, fruits, and leaves of Thevetia peruviana, which were collected in Vietnam, were being reported for the first time. The essential oil of flowers was extracted by different methods: n-hexane extraction, distillation water, and supercritical CO2 extraction. The compositions of essential oil of different parts of Thevetia peruviana were analyzed by GC-FID and GC/MS systems. Major chemical compositions of essential oil were identified as monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, terpenoids, and sterol. The activities of total essential oil extracts of the Thevetia peruviana exhibit inhibitory activities against five cancer cell lines. 相似文献
