加拉帕戈斯海参捕捞危机是由于大量的移民涌入、激烈的经济竞争以及软弱无力的管理机构所造成的一个典型例子.短时期内,海参捕捞已经成为加拉帕戈斯地区最有煽动性的争议问题.就对新的海洋资源进行高效捕捞来说关键因素并不是渔民本身,而是新的捕捞技术、银行贷款和水产市场.这说明造成每年海参捕捞危机的原因非常复杂而不仅仅因为不断增多的渔民加大了海参的捕捞量.本文通过人口普查数据和渔民注册登记数据分析了该群岛人口的增长情况.还通过一项民意调查来确定人们对海参捕捞和有关规定的态度.定性的采访揭示了海参繁荣的历史,同时海参监测信息也提供了年海参捕捞量的估计值.  相似文献

The potential problem of 1-nitropyrene (1-NP) formation during filter sampling of diesel emissions from dilution tubes is assessed. Rates of formation are calculated using data generated from several independent filter exposure studies. A portion of the 1-NP (12% average) found in participates collected from light-duty (LDD) and heavy-duty diesels (HOD) was found to be due to formation on the filter under average sampling conditions of 10-15/1 dilution at 44°C with 3 ppm NO2 for 23 min. On the average, the concentration of 1-NP in participates emitted from HDD is 16 times less than that found in LDD run under similiar transient conditions. The average emission rate of 1-NP generated from the LDD and HDD was 4.7 μg/km and 1.5 μg/km, respectively for the vehicles operating under Federal Test Procedure (FTP)-transient conditions. Under operating conditions which increase exhaust temperature (increased speed and load), the concentration of nitro-PAH is significantly reduced with a concurrent increase in the concentration of partially oxidized nitro-PAH and dinitro-PAH. The concentration of 1-NP in the particulates measured from HDD in these dilution tube studies (0.33-0.95 ppm, depending upon engine load) is comparable to that measured in highway tunnel experiments (0.54 ppm average).  相似文献

Atmospheric PM pollution from traffic comprises not only direct emissions but also non-exhaust emissions because resuspension of road dust that can produce high human exposure to heavy metals, metalloids, and mineral matter. A key task for establishing mitigation or preventive measures is estimating the contribution of road dust resuspension to the atmospheric PM mixture. Several source apportionment studies, applying receptor modeling at urban background sites, have shown the difficulty in identifying a road dust source separately from other mineral sources or vehicular exhausts. The Multilinear Engine (ME-2) is a computer program that can solve the Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) problem. ME-2 uses a programming language permitting the solution to be guided toward some possible targets that can be derived from a priori knowledge of sources (chemical profile, ratios, etc.). This feature makes it especially suitable for source apportionment studies where partial knowledge of the sources is available.In the present study ME-2 was applied to data from an urban background site of Barcelona (Spain) to quantify the contribution of road dust resuspension to PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations. Given that recently the emission profile of local resuspended road dust was obtained (Amato, F., Pandolfi, M., Viana, M., Querol, X., Alastuey, A., Moreno, T., 2009. Spatial and chemical patterns of PM10 in road dust deposited in urban environment. Atmospheric Environment 43 (9), 1650–1659), such a priori information was introduced in the model as auxiliary terms of the object function to be minimized by the implementation of the so-called “pulling equations”.ME-2 permitted to enhance the basic PMF solution (obtained by PMF2) identifying, beside the seven sources of PMF2, the road dust source which accounted for 6.9 μg m?3 (17%) in PM10, 2.2 μg m?3 (8%) of PM2.5 and 0.3 μg m?3 (2%) of PM1. This reveals that resuspension was responsible of the 37%, 15% and 3% of total traffic emissions respectively in PM10, PM2.5 and PM1. Therefore the overall traffic contribution resulted in 18 μg m?3 (46%) in PM10, 14 μg m?3 (51%) in PM2.5 and 8 μg m?3 (48%) in PM1. In PMF2 this mass explained by road dust resuspension was redistributed among the rest of sources, increasing mostly the mineral, secondary nitrate and aged sea salt contributions.  相似文献

Cyclodextrin‐enhanced flushing of contaminants from the subsurface is a promising innovative remediation technology. It will become more economically viable at more sites if methods can be developed to recover and reconcentrate the cyclodextrin solution after it has been flushed through an aquifer. The goal of this study was to determine if membrane technology is capable of meeting that need. Five membranes with different material properties were tested for this purpose in the laboratory. The results of these tests indicate that there are large differences both in the efficiency of these membranes to extract hydroxpropyl‐β‐cyclodextrin (HPCD) and their stability when exposed to trichloroethylene (TCE) at concentrations near aqueous solubility. Not only does the molecular weigh cutoff (MWCO) of a membrane determine if HPCD can be retained, but crucial selection criteria are the membrane's resistance and compatibility with TCE. Of the five membrane materials tested, only two (polymer composite membrane and polysulfone) met both these requirements. The polymer composite membrane (MPF‐44) showed reliable and stable HPCD recoveries (>95 percent) even when exposed to high TCE concentrations. The polysulfone membrane showed high HPCD recoveries, 88.5 ± 0.4 percent to 97 percent ±1 percent for ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes, respectively. However, membrane swelling and deterioration became a problem at high TCE concentrations (>1,000 mg/L). These problems diminished when the TCE concentration was less than 1 mg/L. Field tests demonstrated that batch mode treatment by ultrafiltration doubled the cyclodextrin concentration from 5 to 10 percent within three hours at a constant operating pressure of 13 psi. Under continuous single‐pass treatment conditions, cyclodextrin concentration also increased, although the rate of increase was much smaller than in batch mode. Seagrasses and their habitat are declining worldwide. Zostera noltii in the Canary Islands has been drastically reduced, mainly by anthropogenic disturbance, to three small surviving patches in a single harbor in Lanzarote. A previous genetic study, using neutral microsatellite markers, revealed that these patches consist of a single clonal individual. Here, an assignment test, using microsatellite data, was used to locate the most likely population of origin from a set of possible donor populations. Our results show that the Moulay Bousselham population in northern Morocco is assigned as the most likely population of origin (88%), although the probability of being at one generation time distance is low (2.7%). This result, however, allows locating the most closely related stands that may be the most successful donor populations for future restoration based on shoot or seed transplantation.  相似文献
