Central and Eastern European countries are a hotspot area when analyzing the impacts of climate change on agricultural and environmental sectors. This paper conducts a socio-economic evaluation of climate risks on crop production in Hungary, using panel data models. The region has a special location in the Carpathian basin, where the spatial distribution of precipitation varies highly from humid conditions in the western part to semiarid conditions in eastern Hungary. Under current conditions, crop systems are mainly rainfed, and water licences are massively underexploited. However, water stress projected by climate change scenarios could completely change this situation. In the near future (2021–2050), most of the crops examined could have better climatic conditions, while at the end of the century (2071–2100), lower yields are expected. Adaptation strategies must be based on an integrated evaluation which links economic and climatic aspects, and since the results show important differences in the case of individual systems, it is clear that the response has to be crop and region specific.  相似文献

Cleaning is one of the most important, delicate, and at the same time controversial processes in the conservation treatment of paintings. Although a strict definition of cleaning would be the removal of dirt, grime, or other accretions (surface cleaning), in the conservation field, cleaning is used in the broader meaning to include thinning/removing altered or “unwanted layers” of materials without damaging or altering the physicochemical properties of the surfaces to be preserved. The cleaning of unvarnished paintings is one of the most critical issues that are currently discussed. Several studies exist regarding different cleaning tools, such as gels, soaps, enzymes, ionic liquids, and foams, as well as various dry methods and lasers, but only a few have been performed on the risk associated with the use of water and organic solvents for the cleaning treatments in relation to the original paint binder. The aim of the study is to verify analytically the behavior of water gelling agents during cleaning treatments and the interaction of the following elements: water or organic solvents applied for the removal of gel residues with the original lipid paint binder. For this purpose, the study was conducted on a fragment of canvas painting (sixteenth to seventeenth century) of Soprintendenza per i Beni Storici, Artistici ed Etnoantropologici del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Superintendence for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia), Udine by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, and scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

We evaluated the relationship between play behavior and motor development in juvenile Beldings ground squirrels (Spermophilus beldingi). We observed the social play behavior of juvenile S. beldingi during their primary play period and conducted motor skills tests at the beginning and end of the play period. We also placed different-sized boxes in juveniles natal areas during the play period and observed box climbing behavior to assess the difficulty of non-social play tasks undertaken by juveniles. Rates of social play were greater in heavy compared to light individuals, supporting the idea that juveniles must selectively allocate available energy among competing demands such as growth and play behavior. Juveniles played almost exclusively with littermates; however, they did not play at equal rates with all partners. Rather, they tended to have one preferred partner and to devote significantly less time to playing with each additional partner, indicating that stability and familiarity are important in social play interactions. Motor skill levels at the end of the play period were greater among juveniles who played with many compared to few partners, suggesting that exposure to a variety of play interactions helps facilitate motor development. Improvement in motor skills was greater among juveniles who played at high compared to low rates, had several compared to few male play partners, and engaged in several compared to few play bouts with male partners, suggesting that elements of play with male partners prominently influence motor development. The partner with whom males played at the highest rate tended to be male, and rates of social play were highest in male biased litters, raising the possibility that improvement in motor proficiency arising from play with males may be especially important for young males. The size of experimental boxes that juveniles climbed increased during the play period, supporting the idea that individuals choose play tasks that pose the greatest challenge.Communicated by T.
