Abstract: | A systematic study on the structure of the species and population of the earthworms in areas polluted by heavy metals, the species susceptible to pollution, the enrichment of heavy metal in earthworm body and the influence of heavy metal pollution on the activity of isoenzyme and ultrastructure of epithelial cells of the guts and stomaches in earthworm are made. The results showed that the species of earthworms decrease and the content of heavy metals enrich in earthworm bodies with the pollution degree of heavy metals increasing, which of Cd is as much as 47 3 mg/kg (9 18 mg/kg in soil), and that the ultrastructure of the epithelial cell of guts and stomaches of earthworm changes greatly. The experiment of electrophoresis showed that the activity of the peroxidase in which increases and the activity of esterase isoenzyme decreases while pollution degree increases. |
