This paper introduced general situations of Cyprinus in Yunnan and its problems of preservation.There are.16 species of Cyprinus in China,12 Species among them are distriburcd in Yannan,11 species are.cn- demic.All of them are.cndangered by changing environment.Some of them have been rare,endangered or extinet,It Js important for preserving the species of Cyprinus in Yuman.We know that every species of Cyprinus is a gene pool and can be used for improving the characters of culturod flocks in the future.Most in- troduced economic species can not breed naturally,but wild fishes of Cyprinus are adapted environment they live,and can breed naturally,this is a good character for fishery.And thcy are also a resource,that provide meat for man,Finally preserving methods arc proposed.One is that species of Cyprinus can be presserved onsite or offsite,the.other is that their sex cells or embryoes can be preserved by freezer in very low tempera- ture.
