| Abstract: | By means of the cases of the Eighth-Five-Year-Plan national key project, this paper first set forth the functions and benefits of integrated technology of remote sensing and geographical information system in the monitoring and evaluation of major natural disasters, then put forward three proposals for the further application of this technology: establishing a national center for monitoring and evaluation of natural disasters: resolving the existing key technical problems: acquiring a user outlooks. |
