| Abstract: | A thorough understanding of extracellular polymers(ECP)is of great importance in discovering the nature of biological treatment process.From this point of view,the progress of research on ECP was summarized in the paper with focus on characteristics and sources of extracellular polymers,their effects on wastewater and sludge treatment,and the methods of extracellular polymers extraction.Finally,some questions were proposed for further study. |
