Abstract:The growth and distribution of plants are closely associated with the degree of water use.How do plants make use of water and what are the changes in the mode of plants in the seasonal changes? In particular,in the arid area,how can the limited water sources be allocated to make plants have efficient absorbance so as to keep the environment from becoming deteriorated? The answers of these questions all depend on the study of the plant water sources.This paper describes the principle and methods of applying hydrogen and oxygen isotope to tracing plant water use sources,and reviews the advances of the application of plant water sources.
