1 An ideal integrated national disaster plan would include the following points: 2 First aid training for the general population. 3 Advanced training in critical care for ambulance men. 4 Principles of triage for all emergency services. 5 Application of triage by trained ambulance men. 6 Spreading the casualty load (where possible) to a number of receiving hospitals. 7 The setting up of local disaster co-ordinating committees. 8 The more widespread dissemination of disaster information and reports.
