摘    要:
生态系统评价对于生态系统的可持续经营以及社会可持续发展具有重要意义。本文简要介绍了在生态区域评价的发展过程中具有重要意义的一系列事件,阐述了生态系统评价在北美和全球的发展过程、生态系统评价的有关概念、内容及其对于生态系统可持续经营的重要意义,同时还介绍了我国参与新千年生态系统评估的一些行动,并对中国的生态系统评价提出看法。

Abstract:
Ecological region assessment is an innovation in ecology. It's so significant for sustainable management with ecosystems and sustainable development of society that ecological region assessment has a rapid development in North America and in the world. In this paper a series of important events in the development of ecological region assessment are briefly introduced. They are the Forestry Ecology Management Assessment Team, Canadian Ecological Region Classification, the 11th World Forestry Congress and the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. From these events we can get some basic knowledge about the general development of ecological region assessment in North America as well as in the world, such as some important concepts and contents about ecological region assessment and its importance to sustainable management with ecosystems. Besides these, we can recognize the response in China to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. Finally, some suggestions about the Chinese Ecosystem Assessment are put forward.
