| Abstract: | Three strains of Nitzschia ovalis Arnott grew at temperatures from 15°–36°C and at salinities from 5–40 S Optimum growth occurred at combinations of 25°, 27.5° and 30°C and 25, 30 and 35S. This estuarine benthic diatom tolerates wide salinity and temperature conditions while demonstrating resistance to ultraviolet irradiation at 350 nm. |
