Abstract:The heating and acidification-Fenton oxidation process was used in the treatment of emulsion wastewater. Under the conditions of heating time of 1 h, heating temperature of 95℃ and H2SO4 (98%) dosage of 1.0 mL in 100 mL emulsion, emulsion with an initial COD over 200 000 mg/L and turbidity over 8 000 NTU was reduced to 46 592 mg/L COD and 20 NTU turbidity, which shows the associated process of heating and a- cidification can get a good demulsification effect. Then in the Fenton oxidation, under the conditions of the initial pH of 4, H2 O2/COD of 1.4, Fe2+/H2 O2 of 1/30, the COD of the effluent arrived 18 600 mg/L and the removal rate reached 61.4%. In addition, the B/C of wastewater increased to 0.43 from 0.11 after Fenton oxidation, which makes it possible for further treatment.
Keywords:emulsion  heating  acidification  demulsification  Fenton oxidation
