摘    要:天然地震资料和实验室资料均表明,震级与频度对数之间的关系不是一条严格的直线。它们可用两条斜率不同的直线来拟合,从而得到高震级b值b_H和低震级b值b_L。大量震例和实验发现在地震前或岩石破裂前b_H和b_L的比值在增加,因此,b_H/b_L可作为预报地震的一种前兆。本文还对岩石破裂前b_H/b_L值增加的物理本质进行了初步的讨论。


Journal of Seismology ON CAPABILITY OF EARTHQUAKE PREDICTION BY RATIO BETWEEN HIGH MAGNITUDE b-VALUE AND LOW MAGNITUDE b-VALUE
Abstract:Both the data of nature earthquakes and experiments in laboratory show that the relation between magnitude and logarithm of frequency is not a rigid straight line. It can be imitated by two straight lines with different slope. Then the high magnitude b-value bH and the low magnitude b-value bL can be obtained respectively. It is discovered that the ratio between bH and bL increases before carthquake and rock fracture. Therefore, the change of bH/bL can be used as a precursor for earthquake prediction. The physicai nature of increasing of bH/bL before rock fracture is discussed preliminarily.
