| Abstract: | A sensitive, accurate and handy method is presented for determination of BOD5. Two flasks of culture solution were prepared. Solution of mercuric chloride or con centrated hydrochloric and was put into one flask, so that the bacteria in it would lose activity. Then two flasks were cultured at same time. Five days after, the dissolvedoxygen was determined using iodometry, by which valne of BOD5 was once measured. This method would avoid interference of consumed oxygen of chemical oxidation. |
