Abstract:The Quantitative structure-Activity (QSAR) are used circrearing to screen and pre-dict the toxicity and the fate of chemicals releaced into the environment. This paper tracesthe development of QSAR studies through varies discriplines and summarizes its accomplish-ment. It is not our intention to review the large body of literature on sucessful QSAR appli-cations, but to discussthe fundamentals and advantags of QSAR. Selected QSAR modelsfrom the fields of ecotoxicology and physicochemcal property esfimation and their applicationIn environment.
