The Distribution and Variation of Soil CO_2 Emission Rate in the Panlong Cave,Guilin

Taking the Karst Experimental field in the Panlong cave in Guilin as the test site,selecting scrub brushes on the hillside and depressions,monitoring seasonal variations,spatial distribution and daily variation of the soil CO2 emission rate for a long period of time on a regular basis,once can seen clearly that: ⑴ either on the slope or in the depressions,the soil CO2 emission rate is greater in the top soil than in the deep soil in spring and summer,and it's opponent in autumn and winter.Also,the emission rate is greater on the hillside than in the depressions;⑵ the emission rate of soil CO2 shows obvious seasonal variations.It is 1-3 times higher in summer and autumn(6-9 months) than that in the other periods,and it is also closely related with temperature,soil moisture and biological activity.
