| Abstract: | The region along China coast is frequently and heavily hit by storm surge.Based on geologic and historical records,this paper reveals the seriousness of storm surge along China coast.With the rapid development of economic,the effect of storm surge disaster will become more and more serious.The causes of storm surge and its characteristics are discussed in detail.The tropical cyclone and extracyclone contribute greatly to the formation of storm surge in research region.Besides,the mechanism of disaster and losses caused by storm surge are discussed,and the strategy for defensive countermeasures are put forward. |
