| Abstract: | This paper expounds the countermeasures and their effects which were taken by the local government and seismological agencies during and after the Wuqia earthquake(Ms=7.4)of August 23,1985 at Wuqia County, Xinjiang Autonomous Region.It also discusses several problems arisen in this earthquake. |
