Abstract: | Long-chain alkylnitriles (CnH2n+1CN, where n=13, 15, 17) (LANs) and long-chain-trialkylamines (NCmH2m+1CnH2n+1CjH2j+1, where m,n = 1, 14, 16, 18 and j= 14, 16, 18) (TAMs) were identified for the first time in biota samples at concentrations ranging from 9–574 ng g−1 and from 157 to 825 (fresh wt. basis), respectively. In addition, the simultaneous occurrence in the aquatic environment of LANs and TAMs were also reported for the first time. The Kb values of both, LANs and TAMs varyied according to the different species but their were comparable to those found for PAHs. |
