3M Company of China and 3P (Pollution Prevention, Pay) Program

3M company is a world famous transnational company. 3M's Environmental management program aims to protect the corporation and support its sustainable development. 3M introduced 3P (Pollution Prevention Pay) program in the mid 70's to implement its proactive approach. Since 1975, 4200 projects recognized; over 1.3 billion pounds of pollution prevented; and $710 million saved. 3M's Global Air Emission Reduction Program targets 6.2 MM LBS air releases (U. S.); 50% reduction in waste generated; and 90% reduction in all releases in year 2000. Meanwhile, 3M's 3P Plus Programs have been emphasized and is encouraged to use 'Product Life cycle" in production process.
