<正> 一、课题确定与实施地处长江金三角腹地的茅山地区,分别于1974和1979年发生了5.5和6.0级地震,这种五年内原地重复发生中强地震的例子在中国东部是绝无仅有的.它所造成的损失又远比边远地区同级地震、甚至强震还要大,仅据6.0级地震震害调查,房屋倒塌六万多间,死伤二千多人,其直接经济损失达二亿多元.溧阳地震发生在这一特定的地理环境中,并造成如此严重

THE RECENT PROGRESS AND LOOK FORWAND TO THE FUTURE FOR THE STUDY ON THE SEISMO-GEOLOGY IN MAOSHAN DISTRICT

The recent progress (from 1983 to 1986 years) of the study on the seismo-geology in the Maoshan district,has been looked back in this paper.The main field of progress are included as follows: 1.The structures and geometric characteristics along the Maoshan fault zone; 2.The aetivlty and model of the fault zone: 3.The evolution of teetonic stress field in the studing area; 4.The tectonic factors for the occurrence of Liyang earthquakes. Finally,the authors have put forward some subjects on the looking forward to the future.
