| Abstract: | This paper reviews expert system(ES) applications for two decades in operation and control of biological wastewater treatment processes, and presents some of reasons why control has been difficult problem in these processes. Then the paper analyzes classification,strucure and characteristics of typical ESs for biological wastewater treatment as well as deficiencies of these ESs,and provides future developing trends of ES in the field. |
