On database design for city's public safety planning

The paper aims at presenting the author's idea on how to design a city public safety database in hoping to provide all the essential information for the public safety planning, management and decision-making. Such a database should be composed of the basic safety information, the geographic information and all the means and facilities to organize and retain the information concerned. In the given paper, an improved method of New Orleans' public safety planning design model was adapted to heighten the database efficiency. The trial application proves that the present project is in a position to provide all the system supports for the storage and management of the city public safety planning information and ensure the successful computer's running and decision-making.
