Review and Perspective in the Study of Human Behavior during Evacuation from Building Fire

The required safe egress time depends on the time when the evacuation starts after the happening of building fire, and this, in turn, depends on human behavior. Human behavior is a function of physiology and psychology. In this article, the historical background, and the area and scope of research of human behavior are introduced in detail, and its perspective is also discussed. The importance of establishing and collecting the basic data, the model of human behavior and simulation of dynamic system are emphasized.
