Abstract:In order to analyze the factors affecting the severity of pedestrian collision accidents with different vehicle types quantitatively,taking the human-vehicle collision accidents data in North Carolina of USA from 2007 to 2016 as the samples,the accidents were divided into three types,including the pedestrian collision accidents with cars,SUVs,and trucks.Taking the severity of the accident as the dependent variable,and the attributes of traffic participants,road,environmental conditions and accident characteristics as the candidate independent variables,the cumulative logistic models were established respectively to carry out the comparative analysis,and the influence of human,vehicle,road and environmental factors on the severity of human-vehicle collision accident was explored.The results showed that the model fitted well through various tests,and the prediction accuracy indexes of three models were all greater than 0.7.There were similarities and differences among the factors affecting the severity of pedestrian collision accidents with different vehicle types.The research results can provide reference for reducing the severity of human-vehicle collision accidents.
