The Development and Application of Native Leeches and Hirudin |

| Abstract: | The hirudin is the most potent specific inhibitor of thrombin. The inhibitor is undergoing clinical trial as a novel anticoagulant and antithromotic agent currently. Leech is a kind of traditional chinese medicines,which isof antioncotic and antiphlogistic function. The histroy of leeching and hirucin,the strategies and significance to devel-op hirudin are discussed in this paper. |
