Performances of Poly-m-phenylene isophthalamide and its application in individual protective clothing

he development process , performances , manufacturing , processing and application of PMIA （ poly-m-phenylene isophthalamide ） were introduced in this paper .PMIA is a kind of high performance flame retardant fiber with wide application prospect in work safety .The application value in work safety has gained wide acceptance since the advent of PMIA .Since PMIA has both advantages and disadvantages in its application in work safety , so in this paper it was suggested to make best use of the advantages and bypass the disadvantages in the following means, including fiber modification , fiber production process improvement and fiber processing optimization .It showed that PMIA could play an important role in work safety and generate great social and economic benefits by properly application in this field .
