Application of purge and trap in organic pollutant analysis

The method of purge and trap as enrichment method of trace volatile organic compounds was developed in the middle of the 1970's. The method has the advantages of simple operation, rapid, high sensitivity, high enrichment rate, better accuracy and precision, and without using toxic organic solvents. Since then, purge and trap-gas chromatography, and gas chromatography/mass et al have been coupled to determine environmental organic pollutants. It already achieves satisfied results. Thus the method of purge and trap in organic pollutant analysis will be increasingly and extensively applied.
