Abstract: | The rate constant for the reaction of diethyl sulfide (DES; C2H5SC2H5) with ozone was determined for the first time, which was (2.77±0.27)×10−19 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 under a room temperature of (289±1) K. Experiments were conducted under supposedly pseudo-first-order decay conditions, keeping DES]0>50O3]0, but having different combinations of DES]0 and O3]0. Cyclohexane was added into the reactor to eliminate the effect of OH radicals. The wall decay of ozone and the role of cyclohexane were also discussed in the present work. |
