Abstract:The on-farm costs of erosion preventative measures are one of the crucial points for developing and implementing soil conservation policies. This article describes the use of the modelling system Multiple Objective Decision Support Tool for Agroecosystem Management (MODAM) for calculating the on-farm costs of soil conservation programmes at a participative research project in north-eastern Germany. Within this project, standard average data were adjusted to regional characteristics within a discussion process at a roundtable meeting with local stakeholders. Based on these data, a regional farm model is designed to show the total effects of a soil conservation programme.
