| Abstract: | The envjronmental legislation of the United States has gained great development since 1970s. A system of environmental statuesh as taken shape. Environmental legislation plays, at least, the following roles for the environmental protection of the United States: (1) establishing a system of environmental statutes; (2) creating an institution of environmental administration; (3) establishing a strategy of national environmental management; (4) remedying the defects of common law in environmental protection; (5) promoting environmental awakening of the public. Environmental legislation is needed in the fields of ground water and farmland protection and in some other areas. |
