| 摘 要： | 水不仅是人类生存之本。而且支撑着经济和社会的可持续发展。水资源的可持续利用直接关系到城市的可持续发展。从水资源数量、水资源开发利用现状、水资源质量等方面对2001年-2007年厦门市水资源可持续利用水平进行评价，评价结果表明虽然厦门市在节水工作上取得了显著的成效，但是水资源短缺已成为厦门市社会经济可持续发展的制约因素，而且水环境质量也有待改善。最后针对厦门市水资源可持续利用中存在的问题，从开源、节流、保质方面提出对策与建议。
