| Abstract: | The metaphysical and under-metaphysical thoughts were a couple of important conceptions in ancient Chinese philosophy.And ancient Chinese philosophers had deduced many important ideas from these conceptions and gotten a lot of success in everyday practice.The development of ancient Chinese science and technology had kept ahead in the world for thousands of years,including the earthquake resistant structures—and these were also dependent upon the philosophical thinking of those philosophers.With some examples of architectures,the ancient and modern philosophical thoughts in building of earthquake resistant structures are compared in this paper.And the comparison shows that most of the thoughts can be summarized into metaphysical or under-metaphysical conception.Furthermore,the comparison can also give some useful ideas for the building(design) of earthquake resistant structures. |
