Abstract:The study makes a pollutant emission inventory for motor vehicles through an overall investigation of the traffic conditions based on the situation of year 2005 of the urban area of Beijing.Using ADMS system,an air pollutants concentration distribution model is constructed,and quantitative simulation analysis on the pollution emission from motor vehicles in Beijing is conducted.Then a retrospective environmental effect assessment is made on the application of applying motor vehicle emission standard,i.e.Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲand IV.It is concluded that the implementation ofⅠand Ⅱ standards has turned out to be quite big a success.On the baseline of 2005,if Ⅲ and IV standards are implemented,the effect of reducing CO pollution will be obvious in 2015,but for NOX it will just bring the air quality to a level of 2005,and to further improve the air environmental quality,more stringent measures or support policies must be imposed.
