Abstract:This paper reports a novel experimental unit consists of a polypropylene(PP) hollow fiber membrane module as an absorber and the absorbent solution of 30% methyldiethanolamine(MDEA) for removing sulfur dioxide from flue gas.The performance of the unit was evaluated in terms of the gas and liquid flow rates,absorbent temperature and gas residence time in the hollow fiber membrane module.The research findings indicated that its desulfurization efficiency could be as high as 86%.
