| 摘 要： | 湿地公约文本使用的英语是英国英语，其使用的词汇与美国英语有微妙的区别，湿地国际(中国)官方文本对《湿地公约》中湿地定义的汉译不确切。文章讨论了英国英语和美国英语中与湿地有关的几个词语在含义上的差别，重译并解剖了几个典型的湿地定义。

| Abstract: | The English used in the text of the Convention on Wetlands (short for Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat) is British English, in which the vocabulary used is a little different in meaning from American Eng- lish. The translation for the wetland definition in the official Chinese copy of the Convention on Wetlands by Wetland International (China) is inaccurate. The difference for several words concerning wetland definition between British English and American English is discussed and some typical definitions for wetland are retranslated and explained here. |
