This paper discusses the fundamental connotations and characteristics of soil-fertilizer basis and sustainable de veloping agriculture.From the aspects of historical experience and lessons,reality of single-faceted developing economy and land capacity monitoring status,the paper demonstrates the importance of soil-fertilizer basis for the sustainable developing agriculture,analyses the current situation of soil-fertilizer basis in Guangdong,and put forward countermeasures of strengthening soil-fertilizer basis,such as establishing and improving the relevant laws and regulations,increasing cropland area with rational plan,improving cropland of mid-and-low-productivity,and protecting cropland environment.
