Abstract:In order to investigate the effects of microwave-NaOH pretreating waste activated sludge under separately thermophilic anaerobic digestion process(TADP) and mesophilic anaerobic digestion process(MADP),the experiments were conducted to evalute the process stabilities,organic matter reduction,methane yield and dewaterability of a digested sludges,by using a semi-continuous and completely mixed reactor.During the opration period,TADP and MADP were stable and well-functioned without ammonia inhibition.Organic matter reduction of TADP was superior to that of MADP.Methane yield of TADP was higher than that of MADP.Compared with the mesophilic digested sludge,the dewaterability of thermophilic digested sludge was lower.The results showed the semi-continuous TADP and MADP fed stably with the pretreated waste activated sludge without neutralization.
