Service Value Evaluation of Forest Ecosystem in Chizhou City

Based on LY/T1721--2008 assessment standard and the data provided by various governmental agencies of Chizhou City, the forest ecosystem service value was estimated in Chizhou by the methods, sueh as empirical study, literature study and willing investigation. The results showed that in 2009, the forest ecosystem service value and the forest fruit production value of Chizhou were 4. 2325 × 10^10m Yuan and 1. 6897 × 10^10Yuan, respectively. The ecosystem service value was 2.50 times as much as the real value of production. The value of different ecosystem services was as follows： storage and retention of water 〉 biodiversity conservation 〉 fixing carbon and releasing oxygen 〉 atmosphere environment purification 〉 soil conservation 〉 forest recreation 〉 action of forest against natural calamities 〉 nutrient accumulation. The enormously ecological resources of Chizhou were the cornerstone to develop soeio-eeonomy. In the proeess of implementing the overall socio-economic development strategy, it was necessary to protect forest resources and travel sustainably developmental road to construct ecological and harmony Chizhou City.
