We analyzed one of the longest-term ecological data sets to evaluate how forest overstory structure is related to herbaceous understory plant strategies in a ponderosa pine forest. Eighty-two permanent 1-m2 chart quadrats that were established as early as 1912 were remeasured in 2007. We reconstructed historical forest structure using dendrochronological techniques. Ponderosa pine basal area increased from an average of 4 m2/ha in the early 1900s to 29 m2/ha in 2007. Understory plant foliar cover declined by 21%, species richness declined by two species per square meter, and functional diversity also declined. The relative cover of C4 graminoids decreased by 18% and C3 graminoids increased by 19%. Herbaceous plant species with low leaf and fine root nitrogen concentrations, low specific leaf area, high leaf dry matter content, large seed mass, low specific root length, short maximum height, and early flowering date increased in relative abundance in sites where pine basal area increased the most. Overall, we observed a long-term shift in composition toward more conservative shade- and stress-tolerant herbaceous species. Our analysis of temporal changes in plant strategies provides a general framework for evaluating compositional and functional changes in terrestrial plant communities.  相似文献

在盆栽和大田条件下,研究4种除草剂对2个强筋小麦品种(“临优145”和“临汾138”)产量及生理特性的影响.结果表明,在推荐用量下,除草剂对成穗数、穗粒数和穗长的影响较小,对株高、千粒重、旗叶叶绿素相对含量(SPAD值)、净光合速率及灌浆进程影响较大.2,4-D丁酯使旗叶SPAD值、净光合速率一直较低,千粒重降低;“巨星”在灌浆前期使旗叶SPAD值、净光合速率保持较高,灌浆中后期快速下降,并使灌浆持续时间相对缩短,千粒重最低,较对照分别低2.40g和0.84g;而“世玛”使灌浆前中期SPAD值和净光合速率较低,但下降相对缓慢,使灌浆持续时间分别延长3.48d和1.86d,“库”容增加,千粒重分别提高1.18g和1.05g,同时具有一定的降低株高作用;“骠马”虽使灌浆持续时间延长,但影响相对较小.除草剂对籽粒生长模型参数的影响,品种间存在一定差异,除草剂对“临优145”初始生长势、快增期和缓增期持续时间、快增期和缓增期平均灌浆速率影响较大,而对“临汾138”的这些指标以及总灌浆持续时间影响较大.分析旗叶光合特性、灌浆进程、千粒重及产量间的相关性,表明除草剂主要是通过旗叶生理和灌浆进程来影响千粒重和产量.图1表7参19  相似文献

To study the effects of quality of water on soil and plant, an experiment was conducted at Rudashat Drainage and Reclamation Experiment Station in 1999. Four irrigation water salinities (2, 5, 8 and 11 ds m(-1)) and two sugar crops (sugar beet and sweet sorghum) were used in this experiment. The results showed that under the same water quality, sweet sorghum used 2700 cubic meter per hectare less water than sugar beet. As the quality of irrigation water decreased, the soil salinity and exchangeable sodium percent increased which caused yield reduction for both plants. Sugar beet by accumulating Na and Cl in its leaves tolerated salinity but its usage as a forage crop caused some limitations, whereas sweet sorghum by not accumulating Na and Cl escape salinity and it can be used as a forage crop without any limitation.  相似文献

通过田间试验研究了4种除草剂在正常剂量下对2个优质小麦品种品质性状、蛋白质组分和旗叶保护酶系的影响.结果表明,整个籽粒灌浆过程中,2,4-D丁酯处理使籽粒蛋白质含量一直较高,世玛处理在灌浆前中期籽粒蛋白质含量较高,但灌浆末期籽粒蛋白质含量最低,巨星和骠马处理影响较小.2,4-D丁酯处理使收获时籽粒蛋白质含量及组分最高,湿面筋含量、沉降值、吸水率、稳定时间和评价值等加工品质最好,世玛处理则使营养品质和加工品质最差,巨星和骠马处理影响相对较小.籽粒灌浆期间,2,4-D丁酯处理使旗叶SOD、CAT和POD活性一直较低,尤其是籽粒灌浆末期活性最低;其它除草剂使旗叶SOD、CAT和POD活性在不同灌浆时期存在差异:灌浆前中期,骠马处理使3种保护酶活性最高;灌浆后期,世玛处理使旗叶中保护酶活性下降缓慢,且活性最高.籽粒灌浆期前期,4种除草剂对旗叶中MDA含量的影响是:世玛>骠马>CK>巨星>2,4-D丁酯,灌浆中后期,2,4-D丁酯和巨星处理使MDA含量快速提高,世玛和骠马处理使MDA含量升高相对较慢,到灌浆末期,2,4-D丁酯使MDA含量最高,世玛处理最低.图5表2参22  相似文献

An investigation was made to see the salt tolerance of 10 weed species of rice. Properly dried and treated seeds of weed species were placed on 9 cm diameter petridishes lined with Whatman No. 1 filter paper under 6 salinity regimes, viz. 0 (control), 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 dS m(-1). The petri dishes were then kept in germinator at 25 +/- 1.0 degrees C and 12 hr light. The number of germinated seeds were recorded daily. The final germination percentage, germination index (GI), seedling vigour index, mean germination time and time for 50% germination were estimated. Root and shoot lengths of the weed seedlings were measured at 20 days after salt application and relative growth values were calculated. Results revealed that salinity decreased final germination percentage, seed of germination as measured by GI, and shoot and root length in all the species. Germination of most of the weed seeds was completely arrested (0) at 32 dS m(-1) salinity except in E. colona (12%) and C. iria (13.9%). The species C. iria, E. colona, J. linifolia and E. crusgalli showed better germination (above 30%) upto 24 dS m(-1) salinity level and were regarded as salt-tolerant weed species. J. linifolia, F. miliacea, L. chinensis and O. sativa L. (weedy rice) were graded as moderately tolerant and S. zeylanica, S. grosus and C. difformis were regarded as least tolerant weed species.  相似文献

On a sandy beach of the island Sylt (North Sea) bacteria and yeasts are distributed according to a characteristic pattern. In regard to the vertical distribution, the highest bacteria numbers are found on the surface area of the sediment (14 million per 1 cc of fresh sediment); there is a continuous decrease with depth. The lowest bacteria numbers are those from the underground water region (20,000 per 1 cc). The highest number of yeasts is 200 per 1 cc of sand. The horizontal distribution has 2 maxima, 1 in the sandy mud flats and 1 in the supralittoral zone, with a bacteria abundance minimum inbetween on the beach slope. Actinomycetes have been identified only in the middle and upper part of the beach slope. In May and August (1967) the average number of bacteria was nearly twice as high as in October, December and March. No definite relation was noted between the abundance of bacteria and yeasts on the one hand, and organic substance and oxygen availability, on the other.  相似文献

The Finnish wood heat treatment technology ThermoWood, was recently introduced to Turkey. Data about the mechanical and physical properties of Turkish wood species are important for industry and academia. In this study two industrially important Turkish wood species, pine (Pinus nigraArnold.) and fir (Abies bornmülleriana Matf.) were heat-treated using the ThermoWood process. Pine and fir samples were thermally modified for 2 hr at 212 and 190 degrees C, respectively. The modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity in bending (MOE), impact bending strength (IBS), and compression strength (CS), in addition to swelling (Sw) and shrinkage (Sh) of thermally-modified wood were examined. The results indicate that the heat treatment method clearly decreased the MOR, MOE and lBS of pine and fir. However, a small increase was observed for CS values of heat treated wood species. The most affected mechanical properties were MOR and lBS for both pine and fir. The reduction in MOE was smaller than that in MOR and lBS. Volumetric shrinkage and swelling of these species were also improved by approximately half. In Addition, the changes in the mechanical and physical properties studied in pine were larger than that of fir.  相似文献

In order to screen out the best variety of wheat (Triticum aestivum) out of eight varieties (viz., HP 1633, BW 11, NW 1014, Sonalika, HUW 468, K 9107, HP 1731 and HUW 234), a field experiment was conducted (from Dec. 2002 to April 2003) in a randomized block design replicated thrice at Crop Research and Seed Multiplication Farm, Burdwan University, West Bengal, India. Various morpho physiological parameters viz., plant population, length of shoot and root, leaf area index (LAI), crop growth rate (CGR), leaf area ratio (LAR), leaf area duration (LAD), net assimilation rate (NAR), yield attributes viz., length of panicles, number of grains per panicle, grain yield, straw yield, pigment content in flag leaf (chlorophyll a, b and total chlorophyll and carotenoid content) were estimated and analyzed statistically Soil bacterial populations were also estimated in the fallow land before sowing of seeds and after harvesting of crop. The HUW 468 variety records higher grain yield, maximum panicle length and maximum chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content.  相似文献

Correlation coefficient analysis conducted on 22 triticale x bread wheat derivatives along with six checks to select true- breeding derivative(s) for future hybridization programme with tolerance to drought and cold stress conditions as well as better quality traits revealed significant correlation of grain yield with spikelets per spike, biological yield, harvest index, leaf area index. Interestingly, the grain yield and drought susceptibility index showed no association. However, with cold tolerance it showed significant positive correlation indicating the desirability of certain plant traits under cold stress. The grain yield exhibited no association with quality traits which might assist in the predictability of high yielding varieties with high protein, total sugars, reducing sugars and non-reducing sugars. Path coefficient analysis revealed that biological yield had the highest positive direct effect on grain yield followed by harvest index, specific leaf weight, stomatal number, 1000 grain weight, stomatal size, spikelets per spike and days to heading. Therefore, indirect selection for these plant traits in order should be exercised in selecting drought tolerant genotypes. Two genotypes (RL-124-2P2 and RL 111P2) were found to be drought and cold tolerant with high grain yield, spikes per plant, spikelets per spike and leaf area index.  相似文献

Allelopathic effect of Ageratum conyzoides L., Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., Parthenium hysterophorus L., and Solanum nigrum L. were examined on seed germination, seedling growth, total protein content and protein profile on Ankur, Bhatt, Bragg, PK -416, PS-1042 and Shilajeet varieties of soybean (Glycine max (L) Merill). Aqueous extracts of weeds (10% w/v) showed both inhibitory and stimulatory influence on percent seed germination and seedling growth in different varieties of soybean. On the basis of per cent reduction in different parameters, the variety Bragg and PS-1042, and Shilajeet were resistant and susceptible respectively to different weed extracts, and among weed extracts, S. nigrum was most effective followed by P. hysterophorus compared to others. The total protein content (mg/g f wt.) in different varieties was increased with all the weed extracts except Bragg with C. dactylon and P. hysterophorus, PS-1042 with A. conyzoides and Shilajeet with C. dactylon, in which it was decreased. The protein banding pattern in different varieties not only differ between control and treatments but also among treatments. The order of susceptibility of different varieties with different weed extracts followed the order: Ankur > PK-416 > Bhatt > Shilajeet > Bragg and > PS-1042.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the antiproliferative properties of extracts of five plants on breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) and their effects on antioxidant activities. The total phenol contents of the extracts were determined to establish a correlation to their antiproliferative effects which were evaluated by the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide viability assay. Enzymes involved in oxidative stress were also determined. Total polyphenol contents of the five extracts varied from 170 to 440 mg L?1 of gallic acid per mg of extract with the highest value for the extract of Sida cordifolia. Cell growth inhibition was observed within 24 h, with inhibitory concentration values ranging from 7.3 to 25 mg L?1 depending on plant extract. At concentrations between 100 and 200 mg L?1, all the extracts exhibited significant reduction of cell proliferation in time-dependent and linear manner. The activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase of cells treated for 24 h with the extract of S. cordifolia were 3.5 U per mg protein and 8 mole H2O2 consumed per min per mg protein higher than those of cells treated with an extract of Viscum album.  相似文献

Cuttings of the marine phanerogam Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile were collected and transplanted in January 1991 at four stations of different depths between 5 and 20 m in the underwater reserve at Monaco (1 ha in area). From January to July, samples of the transplants were collected to study the effect of depth on survival and on chlorophyll and carbohydrate concentrations. In the leaves, chlorophyll concentrations were significantly lower (1.00 mg g-1 dry wt) in cuttings taken from 5 m depth than in cuttings taken from 20 m (1.99 mg g-1). Transplantation of cuttings from 5 to 20 m or from 20 to 8 m did not significantly change the chlorophyll concentration in leaves for a period of 6 mo after transplantation. Cutting and transplantation result in stress, as indicated by a decrease in pigment concentration without change of depth. However, the carbohydrate concentration in rhizomes from 5 m (32 mg g-1 dry wt), is significantly higher than in material from 20 m (17 mg g-1). Cuttings transplanted from 5 to 20 m lost most of their carbohydrate reserves (reaching a minimum of 2.5 mg g-1 in May); cuttings transplanted from 20 to 8 m maintained higher reserves (with a minimum of 20 mg g-1 in June). This may explain why material transplanted from 5 to 20 m exhibited only 52% survival, while material transplanted from 20 to 8 m displayed 80 to 92% survival. Material taken from populations adapted to low light at 20 m is probably more resistant to transplantation stress, particularly when replanted at a higher light intensity in shallow water.  相似文献

A study concerning the effects of elevation and exposure of the spruce forests on defoliation levels of oriental spruce (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) by Ips typographus L. was carried out during 2005 and 2006 in Artvin-Hatila National Park, Turkey Nine spruce stands were selected at 3 zones of elevations (1000-1350 m, 1350-1700 m and 1700-2000 m) and at different aspects to assess the role of elevation and exposure in the crown defoliation level and body length of beetles. Influence of bark thickness and trunk diameter at 1.3 m on the damage caused by the pest was investigated as well. The results of the study were as follows: (1) The mean defoliation level was highest at 1700-2000 m following by 1350-1700 m and 1000-1350 m. (2) The highest defoliation levels occurred on southern slopes following by eastern and northern slopes at 1700-2000 m. (3) No statistical differences were found in the mean bark thickness between tree defoliation levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. (4) Mean trunk diameters of dead trees (level 4) were significantly greater than those with defoliation levels 0, 1 and 2. (5) Mean body length of I. typographus at upper zones was significantly higher than those at middle and lower zones.  相似文献

The various indigenous uses and structure of chir pine forests were studied in Uttaranchal state of the Indian Republic. A questionnaire survey was conducted in 50 villages of Uttaranchal to gather information on the indigenous uses of chir pine. For the study of community composition and structure of chir pine forest, at least 15 quadrats of 10 x 10 m were selected randomly across various localities, and the number of individuals, along with other dominant tree and shrub species, were enumerated in each quadrat. About 10 indigenous uses of chir pine were prominent in Uttaranchal. Besides resin, an important non-wood product, different parts of chir pine, such as cones, trunk, stems, wood, leaves and bark, were used by the local people. Chir pine is a subject of the folklore and mythology of indigenous cultures in Uttaranchal. Chir pine forest formed three major communities in Uttaranchal viz., sal-pine (Shorea robusta-Pinus roxburghii), pine pure stands and oak-pine (Quercus leucho-trichophora-Pinus roxburghii). These communities sustained various multiple-use trees and shrubs along with various edible mushrooms (eg. Agaricus campestris, Morchella esculenta and Sparassis crispa). The results of this study are discussed in the light of chir pine conservation and management policies.  相似文献

研究了大田栽培和自然光条件下,模拟UV—B辐射(UV—B,280~315nm)增强对春小麦生物量累积和产量的影响及评估。UV—B辐射导致叶、茎、根、穗生物量和总生物量累积降低,生物量分配改变,籽粒产量降低。5.31kJ/m2UV—B辐射处理还明显降低收获指数。模型分析表明,UV—B辐射降低总生物量累积速率,总生物量随UV—B辐射增加而降低。预测模型表明,10%和20%的臭氧衰减导致的UV—B辐射增加使籽粒产量、叶和穗生物量明显降低,而根生物量降低较小。  相似文献

为明确外源2,4-表油菜素内酯影响苦荞生长、粒重与产量形成的生理机制,以苦荞品种晋荞2号为试验材料,研究不同浓度的外源2,4-表油菜素内酯处理(0、0.1、0.5、1.0和2.0 mg/L)对苦荞籽粒的灌浆特性、淀粉合成酶、根系形态及活力、叶片抗氧化酶活性及光合特性、农艺性状及产量的影响.结果表明:0.5 mg/L处理时苦荞籽粒的灌浆起始势(R0)、最大灌浆速率(Gmax)和平均灌浆速率(Gmean)最大,而达最大灌浆速率的时间(Tmax.G)最小;随2,4-表油菜素内酯施用量的增加,苦荞籽粒的腺苷二磷酸葡萄糖焦磷酸化酶(AGPase)和可溶性淀粉合成酶(SSS)活性、根系总长度等根系形态指标和根系活力、叶片抗氧化酶活性及光合特性指标、株高、主茎直径、单株粒重和千粒重均呈先增加后降低的趋势,且都在0.5 mg/L处理时达最大.外源2,4-表油菜素内酯的施用能在一定程度上促进苦荞产量的增加,其中0.1、0.5和1.0 mg/L处理与对照相比分别提高产量1.10、1.31和1.06倍,2.0 mg/L处理则降低0.96倍.本研究表明适宜的外源2,4-表油菜素内酯处理(0.5 mg/L)能促进苦荞籽粒灌浆,提高粒重和最终的产量.(图1表8参32)  相似文献

The position of a group of pelagic organisms among the food webs depends upon (1) its abundance in the biomass; (2) the factors allowing its utilization by predators; among these, the size distribution of animals and their bathymetric repartition appear to prevail. In the equatorial and southtropical Pacific Ocean, euphausiids represent 8% of the total macroplanktonic and micronektonic biomass, i.e., approximately 13 g/1000 m3 wet weight (somewhat less in oligotrophic tropical zones, a little more in the richer equatorial belt); Euphausia diomedae accounts for more than 50% of this biomass. Individuals measuring 9 to 18 mm in total length (4 to 37 mg wet weight) constitute 84% of the whole biomass of the group; the importance of each species in terms of size groups is discussed. Depth distribution is examined at the specific level. By night, 75% of the biomass concentrates in the 0 to 160 m water layer (ca. 10 g/1000 m3 wet weight; main species Euphausia diomedae), 22% between 160 and 300 m (3 g/1000m3 main species Nematoscelis spp.), and 3% (0.3g/1000 m3) in deeper layers. During the day, the only species abundant at depths less than 400 m belong to the genera Stylocheiron and Nematoscelis; specimens smaller than 15 mm and 20 mg remain at depths shallower than 200 m, individuals between 15 and 22 mm (20 to 65 mg) appear around 200 to 400 m, and larger animals are restricted to depths below 400 m.  相似文献

为研究水稻不同时期吸收的氮素在其体内的行为,作者利用^15NH^4+和^15NO3^-双标记,对Indica水稻亚种(品种Hinohikari)进行水培,在分蘖期、幼穗分化期、开花期施用,将培养液卢州)20mg/L的NH4NO3换成相同质量浓度的^15TH4NO3或NH4^15NO3;部分水稻在一周后收获,其他分别在分蘖期、幼穗分化期、开花期、成熟期收获。植株分成根系、地上部的底部、地上部的顶部、旗叶和穗部,对各自的全氮、^15N进行测定,计算植物的总吸收量。从施用量、植株总吸收量以及三部分总和的植株氮残存量的比较来研究氮素在两种水稻亚种中的行为。研究结果表明,各个时期的^15NH4NO3或NH4^15NO3处理下水稻的N吸收总量上没有差别,但1周后收获的^15NH4-N处理的水稻中^15N的含量比^15NO3-N要高得多,直到成熟期收获的水稻都有同样的结果,这意味着各个时期吸收的NH4-N和NO3-N有着不同的损失量,吸收的NO3-N比NH4-N要损失得多。水稻叶片的氮素损失可能以N2O和NH3的形式。不同氮肥形态的处理下转移到穗部的氮素的量和来源也不相同,在NH4^15NO3的处理中穗部的^15N主要来自地上部的底部,而在^15NH4NO3的处理中穗部的^15N主要来自分蘖期吸收的^15N,少量来自成熟期并且^15N主要来自植株的各个部分。  相似文献

At three sites (Papanui Inlet, Aquarium Point and Seacliff) on the Otago coast of New Zealand and at one site (Point Loma) off southern California, morphometric and shortterm growth measurements were made of single fronds of plants of Macrocystis pyrifera (L.) C. Ag. near the time of the autumn equinox, in 1977. Near the apex, internodes and laminae were shorter in wave-exposed Seacliff and California populations than in those of Papanui Inlet and Aquarium Point in strong currents, although lamina thickness was similar. In the immature region near the apex, linear relationships were apparent from double logarithmic plots of stipe distance from apex vs node number, internode fresh weight vs length (different in the two areas), lamina width vs length, fresh weight vs lamina area and immature lamina, pneumatocyst and internode fresh weight vs node number. Morphologically, Seacliff plants resembled those in California more closely than those in the other New Zealand populations. The relative growth rate in length of stipe internodes decreased linearly with the logarithm of the distance from the apex, but was less closely related to node number. Extrapolation gave zero growth at 1.6 m at Aquarium Point and 2.9 m in California, where the internode lengths coincided with a change in their weight/length relationship. Slow relative growth proximal to these points indicated a different type (mainly elongation). It is suggested that the first, apical, type of growth, being apparently unrelated to frond length, would be a useful measure of activity over short time-periods. The relative growth rate in lamina area (and probably volume), while also related to distance from the apex, showed a very different pattern, increasing slightly to a peak at 100 to 200 mm and declining to nil by 1 m at Aquarium Point and 2 m in California. Maximal lamina size was maintained for only 10 to 15 nodes at Aquarium Point. Calculated node initiation frequencies were 2.7 d at Papanui Inlet, 2 d at Aquarium Point, and 1 d in California. At the latter sites it took about 2 mo for laminae and 21/2 mo for stipe internodes to mature. Deduced relative growth rates in stipe tissue and pneumatocyst fresh weight decreased from 0.24 (loge units per day) at the apex to 0.11 at 200 mm, where basal lamina tissue had a rate of 0.29, a doubling in just over 2 d. The production of tissue per frond was estimated as 25 and 36 g fresh wt d-1 at Aquarium Point and in California, respectively.  相似文献

森林溪流非木质残体的特征直接关系到流域源头水质环境以及森林生态系统碳及养分等物质的输出格局.为了解岷江上游水源源头高山森林生态系统溪流非木质残体的储量特征,于2013 年8 月高山森林溪流水量最大的季节,在研究区域海拔3 600 m 典型高山森林范围内,沿主河道两岸调查每条森林溪流的非木质残体储量,共找到18 条森林溪流汇入主河道,根据实地采样的可操作性和典型性,选择其中12 条溪流详细调查非木质残体储量,每条森林溪流从尽头到源头每隔10 m 设置一个长度为1 m,溪流实际宽度的样方(源头作为最后一个样方).将样方内所有非木质残体全部采集,低温保存,迅速带回实验室,分别按照树皮、树叶和直径小于1 cm 树枝分离,65 ℃烘干至恒重,测定各组分现存量.然后,将样品粉碎过筛,采用重铬酸钾氧化法测定凋落物有机碳含量,以不同组分现存量与其碳含量计算各组分的碳储量.结果表明:(1)该区域森林溪流非木质残体总现存量和总碳储量分别为657.25 kg 和262.96 kg,单位面积现存量和碳储量为439.70 g·m^-2 和175.92g·m^-2;(2)各溪流中直径小于1 cm 树枝占非木质残体总现存量和总碳储量的69.76%和73.41%,其次为树叶,树皮比例最小且不足10%;(3)尽管溪流长度、面积和流量与非木质残体各组分单位面积现存量和碳储量均无显著相关关系,但显著影响溪流非木质残体总现存量和总碳储量及其在各组分的分配比例;(4)相对于树皮,凋落树叶现存量和碳储量所占比例在流量较小溪流中相对较大.这些结果为深入认识高山森林流域水环境及其在森林生态系统中的重要作用提供新的思路和一定的科学依据.  相似文献
