North Sea and Baltic Sea populations of the introduced polychaete Marenzelleria viridis (Verrill, 1873) reproduce at different times (spring and autumn, respectively). Enzyme separation by starch gel electrophoresis revealed major differences between specimens from the Baltic Sea and those from the North Sea (collected in 1992 and 1993) but a high degree of homogeneity among populations from the same sea. Three enzyme loci, glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI-A, GPI-B) and malate dehydrogenase (MDH), were fixed to 100% by different alleles in the North and Baltic Sea populations, respectively. Different alleles are dominant for mitochondrial aspartate aminotransferase (mAAT) with allele frequencies of ca. 0.97 in all sampled populations from the North Sea and Baltic Sea, respectively, but heterozygotes were found in all populations. These genetic differences could be due to environmentally induced selection or genetically different origins of the populations, suggesting that populations of the genus Marenzelleria in the North and Baltic Seas may be two different species.  相似文献

Although birds have recently been shown to possess olfactory abilities and to use chemical cues in communication, limited effort has been made to demonstrate the use of odorants in social contexts. Even less is known regarding the use of odorants in species recognition. The ability to recognize conspecifics should be more pronounced in social species. This study investigated the importance of olfactory cues in species recognition in females of two estrildid finch species with different levels of sociality. Combining odor preference tests with chemical analyses, we surveyed whether female zebra finches and diamond firetails are able to distinguish between the species based on volatile traits and whether individuals exhibit species-specific differences in body odorants. Zebra finches are more social than diamond firetails; nevertheless, both species have an overlapping distribution area. Applying an experimental Y-maze paradigm, we showed that zebra finches can use differences in their species odor fingerprints and displayed a significant preference for the odor of conspecifics over that of heterospecifics, whereas diamond firetails did not reveal a preference. Using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, we demonstrated that body odorants of the two species were significantly different in relative composition. This finding demonstrates the potential importance of olfactory cues in species recognition, at least in social bird species. Even these two closely related species displayed remarkable differences in their responsiveness to similar chemical cues, which might be caused by species-specific differences in ecology, physiology, or evolution.  相似文献

Genetic divergence among ten populations of small- and large-egg forms of the brackish-water polychaete Hediste japonica complex was investigated on 14 isozyme loci by electrophoretic analysis. The two forms were distinguishable by complete allele substitutions at five loci, resulting in high genetic differentiation (Nei's D: 0.533 to 0.662). No genetic evidence of hybridization between the two forms was detected in sympatric populations in three rivers. These results indicate that the two forms are reproductively isolated, clearly showing that the two forms are distinct species. The genetic differentiation among populations was higher in the large-egg form (D: 0.005 to 0.111, G ST: 0.435) than that in the small-egg form (D: 0.000 to 0.001, G ST: 0.020). This genetic difference between the two forms seems to be attributable to a difference in their life histories. The average expected heterozygosity was low in populations of both the large-egg form (0.005 to 0.068) and the small-egg form (0.014 to 0.038) in comparison with other marine invertebrates. Spatial variation of populations and their assemblages is an important component of many aspects of ecology, including the maintenance of species diversity. In nature, organisms are generally aggregated in patches or form gradients or other spatially related patterns. This investigation quantified the degree of spatial structure in benthic invertebrate assemblages. It examined the distribution of infaunal assemblages of different size, mobility and contrasting life-history strategies (i.e. meiofaunal nematodes and macrofaunal polychaetes) in two offshore muddy habitats in the Celtic Deep and the NW Irish Sea off the west coast of the United Kingdom. The more heterogeneous habitat in the NW Irish Sea was characterised by higher tidal stress and bottom temperature while greater water depth, mean particle diameter and organic carbon content was typical for the comparatively homogeneous environment in the Celtic Deep. In both habitats, the environmental conditions became increasingly dissimilar with separation. A total of 125 nematode and 88 polychaete species were recorded with 69% of the nematode and 49% of polychaete species present at both study sites. Occurrence frequency of species, species diversity and average similarity of assemblage composition was higher in the Celtic Deep than in the NW Irish Sea. Results from correlation analyses revealed statistically robust relationships of community similarity and sample distance. Given their small size and low mobility, nematodes were more susceptible to within-habitat physical variability than larger-sized, more mobile polychaetes. This, coupled with limits to long-distance dispersal and likely restrictions in gene flow, resulted in a significant decrease in community similarity with distance at the spatial scales sampled (i.e. within 0.1–23 km). Polychaetes, in contrast, combined a higher dispersal potential (>23 km) with a relatively high tolerance to within-habitat environmental variability and these were the most likely causes for non-significant relationships between the similarity of their assemblages and sample distance. The potential mechanisms causing the observed variation and implications of results for environmental management strategies are discussed. An experiment was conducted to optimise rooting in stem cuttings of the mangrove tree species Bruguiera parviflora, Cynometra iripa, Excoecaria agallocha, Heritiera fomes and Thespesia populnea. Cuttings were girdled or non-girdled and treated with the auxins indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and naphthalene-acetic acid (NAA) and amylase, IAA-oxidase, peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase activities were measured. The best rooting performance (in terms of root number) was in stem cuttings of E. agallocha followed by C. iripa and H. fomes when treated with IBA + NAA. IAA and IBA combinations were more effective in T. populnea and B. parvifolia. Variations in rooting response were markedly reflected in amylase, IAA-oxidase, peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase activities. Sharp increases in amylase and polyphenol-oxidase activities were associated with enhanced rooting in E. agallocha, C. iripa and H. fomes. On the contrary, lowered IAA-oxidase and peroxidase activities favoured rooting in T. populnea and B. parviflora. 镉是一种常见的环境有毒重金属元素,不仅影响植物的生长和发育,而且还通过食物链危害人类健康.因此研究镉对植物的影响、分析植物逆境生理过程,对损伤和抗逆机理研究具有重要意义.以镉敏感水稻突变体和野生型(Oryza sativa L.)为材料,采用营养液培养实验,研究了不同浓度镉对水稻叶片活性氧代谢及抗氧化酶化系统的影响.结果表明:镉胁迫使水稻叶片超氧阴离子(O2-·)、过氧化氢(H2O2)、丙二醛(MDA)含量增加,且突变体的增加幅度明显大于野生型.随着镉浓度的提高,超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和过氧化物酶(G-POD)活性均表现为先上升后下降,但SOD活性的变化更明显;过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性则呈一直下降的趋势.在较高镉浓度胁迫下(>5 μmol L-1),突变体叶片的SOD、CAT活性均明显低于野生型.研究结果表明,随着镉胁迫浓度的增加,突变体叶片积累更多的活性氧,产生严重的氧化胁迫,引起了更高程度的膜脂过氧化,这可能是突变体对镉胁迫更敏感的生理原因之一.  相似文献

庐山植物园11种植物的根际土壤氮磷有效性和酶活性   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1

通过比较不同种源植物的土壤理化性质与生物学活性的差异及根际效应,探讨不同种源植物对庐山酸性山地土壤的环境适应性。在庐山植物园内选择引种多年的11种不同种源的常绿树种,在生长季节中采集根际土和非根际土,测定有机碳含量、碱解氮及有效磷含量、脲酶和酸性磷酸酶活性,并分析各树种根际土壤氮磷养分及酶活性的根际效应。结果表明,(1)不同树种之间的根际土壤酸性磷酸酶(P〈0.01)、有效磷(P〈0.05)和碱解氮(P〈0.01)存在明显差异,而脲酶没有差异。(2)根际与非根际土壤氮磷有效性和酶活性表现出不同的特征,大部分树种根际土壤有效磷及酸性磷酸酶存在一定的根际效应(R/S〉1),例如红花木莲Manglietia insignis、桂南木莲Manglietia chingii及云南拟单性木兰Parakmeria yunnanensis的根际与非根际土壤有效磷含量存在显著差异(P〈0.05),红花木莲、桂南木莲、巴东木莲Manglietia patungensis、红茴香Illicium henryi及红皮糙果茶Camellia crapnelliana与乡土树种云锦杜鹃Rhododendron fortunei根际与非根际土壤酸性磷酸酶存在显著差异(P〈0.05)。但是,根际与非根际土壤碱解氮和脲酶差异不明显,有的甚至出现脲酶的根际负效应(R/S〈1),如巴东木莲和红花木莲等树种根际土壤低于非根际土壤(P〈0.05)。(3)不同种源树种影响下的土壤有效磷和酸性磷酸酶的根际效应(R/S比值)明显,原产西南地区的树种如桂南木莲、云南拟单性木兰和巴东木莲与华南地区的红花木莲、红茴香等土壤有效磷的根际效应(R/S〉1.5)比原产华东亚热带地区的深山含笑Michelia maudiae和云锦杜鹃更明显,相应的酸性磷酸酶的根际效应也较高。土壤脲酶和碱解氮的根际效应却不明显。(4)土壤有机碳与碱解氮、有效磷和酸性磷酸酶存在显著正相关关系(P〈0.01),土壤碱解氮与有效磷(P〈0.01)和酸性磷酸酶(P〈0.05)具显著正相关关系,酸性磷酸酶与pH值(P〈0.05)显著负相关,说明根际土壤有机物质的积累对根际微区的理化环境及根际土壤养分活性具有重要影响。  相似文献

在梁子湖湿地区域内分别采取稻田、沉积物、荒滩、藕塘的土壤样品,测定了与土壤碳、氮、磷转化相关的多酚氧化酶、磷酸酶和脲酶的活性及有机质、N、P含量,分析了湿地土壤酶的活性与土壤有机质、N、P的关系。结果表明:尿酶的活性(以NH3-N计)在0.084~0.255mg·g-1之间,磷酸酶的活性(以酚计算)在8.239~30.898mg·g-1之间,多酚氧化酶的活性(以I2计)在0.577~1.467ml·kg-1之间。脲酶可促进土壤全氮的降解转化。脲酶活性与土壤有机质、全N都呈显著正相关;磷酸酶的活性与土壤磷的转化关系密切。磷酸酶的活性与有机质、全P和速效P都呈正相关,但与有机质的相关性不显著;与速效P的相关性只在水田中达到显著水平;与土壤全磷的含量间相关性显著;多酚氧化酶的活性与土壤碳、氮、磷有密切关系。多酚氧化酶的活性与有机质、全N、全P的含量均呈负相关关系,与有机质的含量之间的负相关在水田和湖泊沉积物中达到显著水平。  相似文献

富营养化湖泊夏季藻类生长旺盛、光合作用强烈,湖水pH值普遍升高,因此相关生态因子变化对沉水植物生长影响的研究成为沉水植物组建和水生态恢复的基础。采用实验室模拟方法,研究了中营养(TN0.60mg·L-1;TP0.04mg·L-1)和富营养(TN4.20mg·L-1;TP0.28mg·L-1)两种状态下不同pH(7,8,9,10)对轮叶黑藻(Hydrilla verticillata)生长、叶绿素含量、抗氧化酶和MDA含量的影响。研究发现,培养21d后,pH10时两种营养状态黑藻生长均受到明显抑制,富营养状态下抑制程度更加显著;pH7和pH8时富营养状态增加植物叶绿素含量,pH10时富营养状态叶绿素含量低于中营养状态。超氧化物岐化酶(SOD)和过氧化物酶(POD)在富营养状态下pH8时活性大幅上升,pH9时出现下降,而中营养状态下在pH9时活性才有所升高;过氧化氢酶(CAT)在两种营养状态下,pH9时活性均显著上升,pH10时在富营养状态下受到明显抑制;富营养状态下在pH7~9时,植物丙二醛(MDA)含量随着pH升高显著上升,并且均显著高于中营养状态,在pH9时与中营养状态差异达到最大。研究表明,pH对轮叶黑藻的影响与营养状态相关,当pH大于9时,两种营养状态下轮叶黑藻均受到一定胁迫,富营养状态下作用更加显著。  相似文献

白洋淀作为我国富营养化湖泊湿地的典型代表,湿地中的生源要素迁移转化直接影响水质演变趋势,湿地系统中的酶在生源要素的循环过程中具有难以替代的作用,直接影响生源要素的迁移转化特性。于2007年3-11月在白洋淀设置固定监测点,研究土壤磷酸酶含量的时空分布规律及其与土壤营养元素间的相关关系。研究结果表明,在人为污染源等因素影响下,湿地中土壤酶表现出较明显的空间分异规律。垂直层面上,湿地土壤表层0-10cm是酶活性最高区域,同时表层土壤磷酸酶活性普遍大于中下层土壤。水平空间分布上,从府河河口区域至白洋淀中心区域磷酸酶活性基本呈现减小趋势。结果表明在污染较严重的河口区域,磷酸酶活性小于污染较轻区域,使得河口区域土壤中磷含量将进一步累积,有可能导致水体污染进一步加剧,需要采取相应的对策和保护措施。  相似文献

为探讨长期施肥条件下玉米生育期内土壤酶活性的动态变化及其与土壤肥力的关系,该文对北京褐潮土定位试验田第12年的土壤酶以及土壤养分因子进行了测定和分析.结果表明.土壤过氧化氢酶、磷酸酶在玉米拔节期出现活性高峰.土壤脲酶在玉米拔节期及成熟期出现两个活性高峰,土壤蔗糖酶在整个玉米生育期内活性变化幅度较小.长期施肥能明显提高土壤中蔗糖酶、脲酶、磷酸酶活性,其中有机肥与化肥配施对于增加土壤中蔗糖酶、脲酶、磷酸酶活性尤为显著.长期施肥降低土壤中过氧化氢酶活性.并且以NPK配施有机肥处理的土壤过氧化氢酶活性降低幅度最大.土壤酶之问及其与土壤养分因子之间具有明显相关性,其中蔗糖酶、脲酶及磷酸酶与土壤养分各因子均呈显著或极显著正相关,除碱解氮外,过氧化氢酶与其余各养分因子呈显著或极显著负相关.  相似文献

分析测试了铅锌矿冶区Pb、Zn、Cu、Cd复合污染条件下的土壤酶活性,分析了土壤重金属污染状况与土壤酶活性的相关关系。结果表明,随着采样点偏离废气排放口主导风向程度增大,Pb、Zn、Cu、Cd综合污染指数PI逐渐降低,土壤蛋白酶、脲酶、过氧化氢酶的活性逐渐增高且差异显著,变化程度中大到小的顺序为蛋白酶→脲酶→过氧化氢酶。剖面分布上,综合污染指数PI〉5的样地,基本呈现随土壤深度增加而土壤酶活性降低的趋势。蛋白酶、脲酶、过氧化氢酶的活性间呈极显著正相关,3种土壤酶活性与全磷呈极显著正相关,与有机质相关性较低。蛋白酶、脲酶、过氧化氢酶等土壤酶活性分布特征对矿冶区污染程度和土壤生态系统特性具有一定的指示作用。  相似文献

In order to evaluate the ecological consequences and potential mechanisms of specific C compounds on soil microbial processes under climate warming, we injected solutions of two modelled root exudates, 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT) and 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl ester (DBP), respectively, into soil at two concentrations (20 and 1000?µg?g?1 soil). For all treatments, soils amended with the two phenolic compounds were incubated at two temperatures (20°C and 30°C) for 30 days. The responses of soil enzyme activity and microbial property to modelled root exudates to some extent depended on temperature regime, exudation component, and addition concentration. For example, the addition of BHT tended to decrease the soil enzyme activities. However, DBP addition generally increased the two metabolic enzyme activities at 30°C, and tended to decrease the two enzyme activities at 20°C, but a significant reduction was observed only at a high concentration at 20°C. The microbial biomass and enzyme activity were generally lower at 30°C compared to those at 20°C, when averaged across all treatment combinations. Taken together, our results indicated that the amounts and quality of liable root-derived C can differentially affect microbial processes, and various environmental changes will greatly complicate root–microbe–soil interactions in forests.  相似文献

Levels of genetic polymorphism were surveyed at two enzyme loci (LAP, PGI) in 2 intertidal and 6 subtidal species of the bivalve genus Macoma living in the waters of the San Juan Islands (Washington and Canada). The temporal environmental variability-genetic variability hypothesis predicts that intettidal species should have greater levels of genetic polymorphism than subtidal species. This is not true for the genus Macoma. However, at the PGI locus, genetic polymorphism was proportional to niche breadth in both the intertidal and subtidal species, but only for intertidal species at the LAP locus. These results support the contention that temporal environmental variability is not necessarily important in maintaining genetic variability, but that environmental heterogeneity may select for increased polymorphism at some loci.  相似文献

SO2是一种常见的全球性大气污染物,对人类健康和生态系统有严重的危害。多数植物在SO2胁迫时不能正常生长发育,因此研究SO2对植物的影响、分析植物逆境生理过程,对损伤和抗逆机理研究具有重要意义。文章以3周龄的拟南芥(Arabidopsis thalianal L.)植株为实验材料,对幼苗进行SO2(2.5、10、30mg·m-3)连续熏气,定时(8、56、104、152h)检测地上部分抗氧化酶活性和可溶性蛋白质含量的变化。结果表明,SO2熏气前期超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和过氧化物酶(POD)活性诱导性增高,其中SOD活性增加最快,8h后即显著高于对照,并具有浓度效应,POD活性在SO2暴露8h后略有增高,56h、104h时明显增加;熏气152h后,SOD和POD活性显著降低。处理组和对照组的过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性和可溶性蛋白质含量在熏气前期略有增高,152h后有所降低。研究结果表明,环境中较高浓度的SO2对植物细胞具有氧化胁迫作用,并可能产生氧化损伤效应。  相似文献

The relationship between the rainwater composition on two consecutive rain days was analyzed. Logrono, a remote station in the North of Spain was chosen for the analyses. The concentration of the major ions in the rainwater of the first rain day is linearly related to the concentration of the second rain day except for those ions whose source is the soil (Ca2+ and Mg2+). These ions are related to SO4 2? and NO3 ? in the first rain day, but not in the second.  相似文献

Deep-sea squids, Moroteuthis ingens and Gonatus antarcticus, were collected in the slope waters off the Falkland Islands and their reproductive systems preserved and investigated onshore. Changes in oocyte length-frequencies at maturation and spawning, and their fecundity were studied. These squids, as well as many other species, are characterised by a synchronous oocyte growth and ovulation. Oviducts are not used for ripe egg accumulation and consequently the universal scale of Lipinski (1979) cannot be applied to assign female maturity. M. ingens spawns near the bottom; its fecundity is 168–297 thousand eggs. Maximum egg size is 1.8–2.7 mm. G. antarcticus spawns midwater; its fecundity is 10–25 thousand eggs. Egg size is 3.2–3.3 mm. In M. ingens spawning takes place in the austral autumn and winter, in G. antarcticus—in austral winter. Our data and the literature data show that the so-called “synchronous ovulation” probably occurs in all deepwater squids. This pattern is very rare among fish, but is quite common among benthic octopods that brood their egg masses.  相似文献

通过室内避光培养法研究了添加不同质量分数使它隆对土壤酶活性、土壤呼吸强度以及土壤全酚的影响.结果表明使它隆在0.5 mg·kg-1和5 mg·kg-1质量分数时对土壤多酚氧化酶、酸性磷酸酶和呼吸强度的影响为轻微抑制-激活-恢复稳定的趋势,50 mg·kg-1质量分数时为轻微激活-抑制-恢复稳定的趋势;使它隆在0.5 mg·kg-1和50 mg·kg-1质量分数时对土壤脲酶活性的影响为激活-恢复稳定的趋势,5 mg·kg-1时则处于抑制-激活的趋势;各质量分数的使它隆浓度对土壤蔗糖酶和土壤全酚均为抑制作用,且质量分数越大抑制越强烈.研究表明,施用一定量的使它隆对土壤生态环境是安全的.  相似文献
