A fabric filter has been on-line for one year on a coal-fired boiler that is primarily a peaking unit within the power schedule. For the first six months, Eastern Kentucky coal with 2.5% sulfur was the fuel source for 30% of the time, with low-sulfur Montana coal constituting the remaining fuel during the operation period. Bag life has been excellent with no bag failures reported to date, and the pressure drops have been low. There has never been an auxilliary heat source to preheat the fabric filter for start-up, nor to reheat the fabric filter when operating at reduced load with associated low back-end temperatures. Conclusions are that the filter cake formed does protect the bags from blinding at low load conditions, and a special acid-resistant finish applied to the glass fibers protects the bags when high-sulfur coal is burned at low temperatures. Overall, this installation provides an excellent data base for cycling service and high-sulfur coal usage with a fabric filter.  相似文献

Fabric filtration systems have been employed in industry for over a century with relatively few technological modifications. However, with the recent substantial increase in energy costs, conservation in energy consumption has become vitally important. As a result, the filtration systems of yesteryear may not be the best approach for future applications. Recently, an external electrical field was considered in fabric filtration of industrial dust with very promising initial results. An increase in the collection efficiency, particularly for fine particulates, and a decrease in the pressure drop was observed. In this paper the further results of an experimental program in the investigation of pressure drop in the electrostatic fabric filtration in industrial dust control are presented. The basic apparatus, a bench-scale electrostatic fabric filtration system, creates a representative dust cake under specific conditions of operating parameters and charge levels. The results clearly indicate that filter and dust cake resistance, or pressure drop, decreases substantially with the increased electrostatic field strength for all industrial dust samples tested, regardless of fabric type and other relevant parameters.  相似文献

As a follow-up to a pilot study, a full scale investigation of applying high velocity fabric filtration to coal-fired boiler fly ash control was conducted. Two filter systems were separately applied to two 60,000 lb/h coal-fired boilers. Performance evaluations conducted over the course of a year included total mass removal efficiency and fractional efficiencies. One filtration system employed Teflon felt as the filter media while the second system employed Gore-Tex, a Polytetrofluorethylene (PTFE) laminate on PTFE woven backing. During the course of the year, a limited number of glass felt and woven glass bags were introduced into the house containing Gore-Tex. As a separate option, the second system was outfitted entirely with woven glass bags. Preliminary results indicate acceptable performance at air-to-cloth ratio of 6 to 1. Future plans call for utilizing one of the baghouse systems for SO2 removal.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of an evaluation of excessive salt emissions from 16 hogged fuel boilers in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. Logs transported or stored in sea water, absorb substantial amounts of salt which is noncombustible, and is emitted as a fine particulate when the hogged fuel is burned, contributing to opacity and particulate emissions. Control measures considered are fuel pretreatment, combustion modification, use of conventional particulate control devices (electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, and wet scrubbers), and several novel particulate control devices.The best available control technology appears to be a mechanical collector-fabric filter combination; some electrostatic scrubber type devices have also shown excellent capability.  相似文献

A carborundum fabric filter was retrofitted to the Cameo No. 1 unit in 1978. Cameo Station, owned and operated by Public Service Company of Colorado, is near Grand Junction, Colorado, and No. 1 unit (22 MW) was first placed in service in 1958. The purchase contract for the fabric filter was written on July 2, 1976, but due to problems in obtaining an emission permit from the state of Colorado, actual construction did not begin until February, 1978. The fabric filter, designed with 1.92 gross air-to-cloth ratio and reverse air, was placed in service December 18, 1978. This paper covers the design aspects, construction features, startup procedures, and acceptance testing.  相似文献

A fabric filter baghouse was installed on an 85 MW unit at the City of Colorado Springs' Martin Drake Power Plant. This baghouse retrofit was placed on line in September 1978. During the initial operation, some minor design and operational problems arose. Minor modifications were made to the baghouse system which eliminated these problems. The baghouse is experiencing a relatively low operating pressure drop and continues to maintain zero visible emissions.  相似文献

Results of a recent intercomparison on the determination of trace elements in simulated air filter samples are reported. A large scatter of results is obtained for some elements and systematic differences between laboratories are observed. The performance of different methods, in particular neutron activation analysis and atomic absorption spectrophotometry, used by the various laboratories is discussed (air filter analysis; intercomparison; trace elements; control charts).  相似文献

Microbiological Safety Cabinets are designed to provide protection to an operator from aerosol hazards that may be generated when handling infectious material. In addition, some types of cabinet can provide protection to the work being handled. Several national standards have been published in recent years which define the construction and performance of these devices; the three types of safety cabinet designated Classes I, II, and III are defined and described in this paper. A measured degree of operator protection is required at the front aperture of Class I and II cabinets, and a new method for assessing operator protection factor based upon a challenge aerosol of potassium iodide is described. Cabinet performance is discussed in relation to containment test results using this system. Working procedures and unsuitable environments can prejudice the containment performance of open-fronted cabinets by several orders of magnitude, and various aspects of this problem are discussed and illustrated. The importance of on-site commissioning tests to ensure adequate operator protection is emphasised. The application of safety cabinet testing techniques has been extended to assess the performance of fume cupboards (hoods), complete laboratories, and special “hybrid” installations such as may be used for handling carcinogenic or radiopharmaceutical material.  相似文献

潜在蒸散发对水资源评价和气候变化均具有重要意义。采用Penman-Monteith公式和气象观测资料计算了中国西南地区90个气象站的潜在蒸散发,并采用多种统计方法分析了潜在蒸散发的时空变化特征。结果表明:(1)西南地区近52a的平均潜在蒸散发为3 209.8 mm,其中云南省潜在蒸散发最高(3 664.7 mm),其次为四川省(3 015.0 mm)、重庆市(2 972.4 mm)、贵州省(2 958.0 mm)。四季潜在蒸散发空间分布特征与年不同,从大到小排序为夏季,春季,秋季,冬季。(2)西南地区整体呈增加趋势(0.9 mm/10 a),其中31个站点呈减少趋势(p0.1),17个站点呈增加趋势(p0.1),其余站点变化趋势不显著。大部分站点春季(55.6%)和夏季(63.3%)呈减少趋势,秋季(62.2%)和冬季(58.9%)则呈增加趋势。(3)经MannKendall突变检验,该区整体潜在蒸散发的突变时间为1995年(p0.05);单个站点突变检验显示,76个站点发生突变,突变年份集中于1980s,未发生突变的站点主要分布于青藏高原东缘。整体上看,近52a来西南地区潜在蒸散发略呈增加趋势,并存在突变点,但部分站点存在相反的变化趋势,这和复杂的地形环境和气候特征有较大关系,体现出西南地区水文气象变化的独特性。  相似文献

Radiation dispersal devices (RDDs), or dirty bombs, are terrorist weapons designed to scatter radioactive materials in large urban areas. Although the main intent of a RDD is to produce general panic and chaos, other impacts such as health, environmental, property and economical damage may also occur. Although one certain method of reducing health risks from a RDD event is to remove the radioactive contaminants from the environment immediately, rapid cleanup after a RDD event may be impossible in many cases. However, preventing the migration of the radioactive contaminant is crucial. Although it may be necessary to allow the contaminant to remain in place, preventing its migration is still essential. Fixatives can reduce or eliminating migration potential of a contaminant introduced by a RDD. This paper reviews the significance of fixatives in response to a RDD event and some of the products which have been identified for such a purpose. Many of the products are promising for application. However, many reports lack quantitative information to allow for effective comparative evaluation. Further, key parameters, such as shelf life and product toxicity, are not typically evaluated. We recommend that standardized performance parameters be established to allow for better comparative evaluation.  相似文献

The electrostatic granular filter developed by Combustion Power Company combines a moving-bed filter with an electrostatic grid for high-efficiency collection of particulate. The coulomb charge occurring naturally on particulate from combustion or other processes in which tribocharging occurs is sufficient such that imposition of an electric field substantially enhances mechanical collection in the packed filter. A mathematical model is presented which accounts for the major parameters affecting electrostatic performance. Experimental data developed in an industrial unit retrofitted with electrostatic equipment and a pilot-scale filter demonstrates dramatic improvement in opacity and outlet loading; the industrial unit achieved 99% collection efficiency with less that 4 Iwd (1kPa) pressure drop. Data from the pilot-scale filter has shown that collection of micron-size particulate is especially enhanced with the electric field and has confirmed the 99% overall collection capability demonstrated in the industrial unit. The design of a 420,000 acfm (1200 m3/min) system being installed at Weyerhaeuser Company's Longview, Washington plant is also discussed.  相似文献

产业生态系统(IES)作为可持续发展的重要实践工具,在国内外得到快速推进并取得显着成效。但由于IES独特的生态化产业链接属性和成长环境。造成大量不稳定问题逐步浮现并且已经成为影响产业生态系统取得成功的重要障碍。以Cape Chades、Kahundborg等生态工业园发展为案例。对出现稳定性问题的IES进行回顾。然后,通过生态系统的稳定性内涵的研究,探讨IES稳定性的相关概念。该文的主要研究成果集中在通过大量国内外文献研究所得到的17个IES稳定性的可能影响因素。通过对这些日素的研究,把它们划分为结构、技术、外部三个纬度,其中结构性影响因素包括:地理位置、成员距离、核心组员、生态产业链长度、行业多样性、相互依赖、系统关联度等7个;技术性影响因素包括:技术充足、技术革新、信息交换平台、技术机密壁垒等4个;外部性影响因素包括:政府支持、市场变动、新能源新材料、公众压力、法律制度、经济支持等6个。最后展望未来相关研究的发展趋势与可能的突破点。指出可以通过在国内开展大样本IES的统计调查。通过研究这些影响因素与稳定性之间的数量相关关系,确认其中正在突出影响我国当前产业生态系统稳定发展的因素。  相似文献

Alpha particle emitting radionuclides may be released into the atmosphere as a result of a severe nuclear accident, the malevolent use of radioactive material or some other incident. Rapid detection methods are then of crucial importance for carrying out well-timed protective actions. The present paper demonstrates that a method in which an aerosol sample is collected on a filter and directly analysed by high-resolution alpha spectrometry in a vacuum chamber, but without radiochemical sample treatment, is suitable for field measurements. A detection limit of less than 0.1 Bqm(-3) for (239)Pu is achieved assuming 1-h sampling using a glass-fibre filter and 1-h data acquisition. This value is higher than in the case when sampling is performed using a porous membrane filter. A measurement system consisting of standard components is mounted in a vehicle designed for rapid field measurements.  相似文献

森林的过滤器效应是指森林对污染物所具有的净化缓冲作用,这是森林生态系统所具有的重要生态服务功能之一。森林生态系统对污染物的截留、吸附与净化一般是通过污染物在森林生态系统中的乔木层与灌草层植物、枯落物和土壤(微生物)等组分间的转化过程来实现,阐明森林生态系统各组分对污染物的净化效应是正确评估森林过滤器效应的关键。系统综述了森林生态系统各组分对污染物净化效应的国内外主要研究成果,指明了目前该方面研究存在的问题和努力的方向,并指出目前国内已有的大多数研究还处于实验观测与现象揭示阶段,缺乏对过程与机理的深入研究,很少进行多因素的动态综合研究和系统分析,这都限制了我们对森林生态系统对污染物净化过程内在运行机制和客观规律的正确认识和评估。把整个森林生态系统当作一个过滤器,从植物、凋落物、土壤、微生物几个亚系统方面介绍了森林过滤器对污染物净化缓冲作用方面的主要研究进展。  相似文献

1962~2012年西南地区极端温度事件时空变化特征   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
基于西南地区88站1962~2012年日气温数据,采用百分位阈值法定义极端温度事件,结合线性倾向率、Mann-Kendall秩次相关法、反距离加权插值法对其时空变化进行了分析。结果表明:极端温度指数存在明显的空间分布差异,暖日指数、暖夜指数、冷夜指数和年内日最低气温整体上均由东南向西北逐渐降低;霜冻天指数则由东南向西北部逐渐升高,西北部梯度变化明显;冷日指数和年内日最高气温呈马鞍状分布,较高值均在西南和东北部;因多数地区高温天数极少,故没有明显的梯度变化。霜冻天指数、冷夜指数和冷日指数减少趋势明显,分别为2.7、4.6和3.5d/10a;暖日指数和暖夜指数、年内日最低气温和最高气温均呈增加趋势,分别为3.6、4.9、0.4和0.1℃/10a;高温天指数变化不显著。整体上来看,西南地区极端高温事件和极端低温事件分别呈上升和下降趋势,但有部分区域呈相反变化趋势,体现出西南地区气候变化的独特性。  相似文献

低碳农业园区建设是推动温室气体减排的重要手段,低碳农业园区发展决策需要绩效评估的支持。而目前关于该类园区绩效评估尚属亟待研究的新课题。通过理论分析和实地调查,在弄清了东滩低碳农业园区基本运作现状的基础上,首次提出了低碳农业园区建设绩效评估指标体系,并利用AHP确定了各指标权重。然后利用东滩低碳农业园区的数据,并结合与常碳农业的比较,评估了该园区的建设绩效。结果显示:该指标体系能够很好地评估该园区的绩效水平,反映了其绩效结构。虽然该园区建设的社会效益等方面若干指标急需改善,但其经济效益、资源循环利用与环境保护水平得到了很大的提高,综合低碳效应非常明显,发展潜力很大。因此,低碳农业园区具有很好的推广价值  相似文献

Geothermal (ground source) heat pumps (GHP) and permeable pavement systems (PPS) have demonstrated their effectiveness in both industry and academic research during recent decades. To meet the rising demand for sustainable, recyclable and energy efficient techniques, research has focused on the combination of techniques to enhance existing or develop new applications.

This paper reports on an experimental programme that combined GHP with PPS for nutrient removal and system energy balancing. Experimental data collected over a 3-year period have provided evidence of highly efficient removal rates of up to 99% for ammonia–nitrate and biochemical oxygen demand; and 96% removal rates were obtained for orthophosphate–phosphorus. This paper also contains energy efficiency ratio (EER) and coefficient of performance (COP) calculations. Cyclic heat removal and heat rejection allowed for stable temperature and pump COP and EER sustainability. The results prove that PPS systems are appropriate for GHP installation, delivering high and stable pollutant removal with EER efficiencies between 1.5 and 5.5.

The combination of GHP with PPS has the potential to provide a new sustainable and eco-friendly practice.  相似文献

The design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems is still a challenging engineering task which requires experienced and informed decision-making. These systems have a great energy-saving potential at the system level rather than at the level of the individual products of which they are composed. European environmental product policies have been very useful in facilitating a homogeneous rating scheme which can be used to compare the energy performance of different products that provide the same service. This paper proposes a simplified design method which uses the performance of components that are regulated by European product policies to obtain the overall performance of heating systems in residential buildings. It is a flexible method and allows different product configurations to be assessed so as to optimise the system performance during the design phase. The method is tested on a real case study with domestic hot water and space heating systems. The case study shows the potential for improving the heating systems according to the performance levels of its products currently available in the market. Results of the domestic hot water system show that upgrading its storage tank to the maximum energy class (A+) could bring the highest energy savings ( 4162 kWh/y).  相似文献

Control of particulate emissions from pulverized coal fired steam generators is becoming a significant factor in the siting and public acceptability of large coal burning power plants. The particulate emission limit established by the EPA for new coal fired boilers is 0.03 lb/106 Btu (13 ng/J) Possibly more restrictive than this is the state of New Mexico's particulate regulation which calls for no more than 0.05 lb/106 Btu (22 ng/J) total, and no more than 0.02 lb/106 Btu (9 ng/J) less than 2 microns in diameter. This paper will evaluate the effect of these stringent limitations on the technical feasibility and economics of dry particulate removal. Electrostatic precipitators have been the dominant particulate collection device in the electric utility industry for many years because of their low capital and operating cost. However, increasingly stringent emission standards have led to substantially higher costs for precipitators. These costs have increased sufficiently for fabric filtration to become a competitive alternative in achieving cost effective control. This paper will compare the economics and performance of fabric filtration with respect to conventional electrostatic precipitators. The paper will also address the preliminary evaluation procedures that should be followed in order to select the appropriate device for new or existing coal-fired boilers.  相似文献

土地利用规划环境影响评价是针对土地利用的宏观结构调整与布局对环境可能造成的影响作出的预测性评估。当前我国的土地利用规划环境影响评价工作刚刚起步,国内还没有形成公认的范例,旨在通过实例研究建立一个适用于土地利用规划环境影响评价的方法。选用综合指数和协调度指标相结合的方法对贵州省毕节地区的土地利用规划环境影响进行评价,并且系统地探讨了基于该方法的评价指标体系的建立。结果表明,毕节地区土地利用规划修编方案对生态、社会和经济环境的综合影响属中等水平协调,通过适当的环境影响减缓措施加以改善即可。  相似文献
