In this study, synthesize hydroxyapatite (HA) suspensions sedimentation was used after usual terms as support for adsorption of heavy metals ions. Thus, the effectiveness of chitosan, produced from shrimp waste, in the flocculation of turbid suspensions resulting from the treatment of water contaminated with heavy metals was studied by adsorption on HA. Different particles sizes of HA were mainly controlled in this work (an average of granule size ranging from 1.6 to 63 μm). The results of Cu2+ and Zn2+ adsorption on HA showed relatively fast kinetics, with removal extent of 88–95 % by varying the initial total metal concentration. High removal rates were obtained for Cu2+. Chitosan was found to be able to eliminate by flocculation more than 98 % of turbid suspensions generated by metals adsorption on HA after only 30 min of sedimentation. Effects of pH and dose of chitosan on the coagulation–flocculation process were also studied. The optimal dose of chitosan was found between 0.2 and 2 mg/L which corresponds to an optimal pH ranging from 6 to 7.  相似文献

Chitosan is a natural biopolymer which can be used to replace aluminum salts and chemical polymers as a coagulant to avoid the human health problems caused by the residual of aluminum and chemical polymers in water. Chitin is a major component in shrimp and crab shells, and chitosan can be produced from chitin via a deacetylated process. Since the biodegradation of chitin is very slow, large amount of discards from the processing of crustaceans has become a major concern in seafood industry. Therefore, more works are need to find the possible applications of chitin, chitosan and their derivatives. This research used chitosan as a coagulant to recover wheat dregs in the wastewater from washing the mash and the lauter unit in a brewery, and regards this study as an example to understand the influences of the characters of the wastewater on the treatment plant of brewery. The result shows that the␣wastewater from the mash and the lauter units can have the best treatment efficiency at the coagulant dosage of 120 mg/L in the original pH 4.5. Increasing the solution pH decreased the turbidity removal efficiency. The dominant mechanisms for chitosan to remove colloids in the␣wastewater are charge bridging and neutralization, and the later becomes less significant in␣the high pH. The coagulant of chitosan removed most of the colloidal form organic matter in the wastewater, but it has only little effect on the removal of dissolving organic matter. Chitosan is a natural material, after coagulation the sludge from the mash and lauter wastewater can serve directly as an animal husbandry fodder after been dehydrated. Therefore, the loading to wastewater treatment plant and the cost of treatment could be reduced.  相似文献

In this study, a high-rate fibre filter was used as a pre-treatment to stormwater in conjunction with in-line flocculation. The effect of operating the fibre filter with different packing densities (105, 115 and 125 kg/m3) and filtration velocities (20, 40, 60 m/h) with and without in-line flocculation was investigated. In-line flocculation was provided using 5, 10 and 15 mg/L of ferric chloride (FeCl3·6H2O). The filter performance was studied in terms of pressure drop (ΔP), solids removal efficiency, heavy metals (total) removal efficiency and total organic carbon (TOC) removal efficiency. It is found that the use of in-line flocculation at a dose of 15 mg/L improved the performance of fibre filter as measured by turbidity removal (95%), total suspended solids reduction (98%), colour removal efficiency (99%), TOC removal (reduced by 30–40 %) and total coliform removal (93%). The modified fouling index reduced from 750–950 to 12 s/L2 proving that fibre filter can be an excellent pre-treatment to membrane filtration that may be consider as post-treatment. The removal efficiency of heavy metal was variable as their concentration in raw water was small. Even though the concentration of some of these metals such as iron, aluminium, copper and zinc were reduced, others like nickel, chromium and cadmium showed lower removal rates.  相似文献

介绍了壳聚糖的理化性质及其作为絮凝剂的优点,探讨了壳聚糖的絮凝机理,分析了壳聚糖絮凝效果的影响因素(包括废水p H、絮凝温度、搅拌转速及时间、壳聚糖投加量、壳聚糖脱乙酰度及相对分子质量、废水浊度),总结了壳聚糖改性和复合后在废水脱色处理中的应用。指出:未来还需更深入地研究絮凝机理,同时也需进一步研究影响絮凝效果的因素;新型壳聚糖絮凝剂将向更高效、成本更低且环境友好的方向发展。  相似文献

High fluoride levels in drinking water have become a critical health hazard. In the present study, the performance of magnesia-loaded fly ash adsorption in the removal of fluoride from aqueous solution was investigated in a batch study. The effect of contact time, dosage, pH, temperature and agitation speed was studied at different values. The maximum removal efficiency was 88 % at 150 min. The effective dose of adsorbent was found to be 2.5 g/l. The optimum pH was found to be at pH 4. Kinetic studies and isotherm studies were also performed to understand the ability of the adsorbents. The monolayer adsorption capacity determined from the Langmuir adsorption equation was found to be 11.61 mg/g. The kinetic measurements suggested the involvement of pseudo-second-order kinetics in adsorption and were controlled by a particle diffusion process. Overall, the results of this study suggest that magnesia-loaded fly ash is an environmentally friendly, efficient and low-cost adsorbent, useful for the removal of fluoride from aqueous solution.  相似文献

Extraction and depolymerisation of chitin and chitosan from shrimp waste material was carried out using fish proteases aided process. A high deproteinization level (80 %) was recorded with an Enzyme/Substrate ratio of 10 U/mg. The demineralization of shrimp waste was completely achieved within 6 h at room temperature in HCl 1.25 M, and the residual content of calcium in chitin was below 0.01 %. The degree of N-acetylation, calculated from the 13C CP/MAS-NMR spectrum, was 85 %. The chitin obtained was converted to chitosan by N-deacetylation. X-ray diffraction patterns also indicated two characteristics crystalline peaks approximately at 10° and 20° (2θ). Chitosan was then evaluated in the treatment of unhairing effluents from the tanning industry. A result showed that chitosan as a coagulant has good performance in alkaline pH and at concentration of 0.5 g/L. Within these conditions, chitosan could decrease turbidity value, total suspended solids (89 % at 1.5 g/L), biological oxygen demand (33.3 % at 1.5 g/L) and chemical oxygen demand (58.7 % at 1.5 g/L).  相似文献

以聚合氯化铝(PAC)和淀粉-丙烯酰胺接枝聚合物(ST-AM)为原料,合成了一种新型的无机-有机复合絮凝剂(PACSAM)。考察了PACSAM对活性染料、直接染料模拟印染废水及实际印染废水的脱色效果,并初步探讨了絮凝机理。实验结果表明:在很宽的pH范围内,PACSAM均表现出了良好的脱色性能;在PACSAM加入量为25m g/L时,PACSAM对实际印染废水的脱色率、COD去除率、浊度去除率分别为96.4%,92.1%,98.5%,废水处理效果明显好于壳聚糖和PAC。PACSAM的絮凝机理包括化学反应、分子间氢键、电中和及架桥作用等。  相似文献

One of the major concerns of mining companies is the safety of their tailing dams. Among the cares required to operate such a dam, a proper treatment of the effluent composing its waste stands out, since that, waste must be treated before returned to the environment. In the process of bauxite beneficiation, the effluent level of turbidity is the discard parameter that deserves attention. In this work, quaternized chitosan (TMCCl?) derivative with cationic charge was synthetized and investigated to be used as coagulant in bauxite treatment for tailing dam effluent. The chitosan (CHT) was quaternized by methylation reaction. The quaternized chitosan structure was characterized by the following techniques: FTIR Spectroscopy and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Its thermal stability was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis. After quaternized chitosan was obtained, analysis with aluminum sulfate, protonated and quaternized chitosan were executed in jar-test apparatus. The tests were conducted in order to find the optimum pH, velocity gradient, coagulant and alkalizer dosages, as well as coagulation, flocculation and decantation time. The studied coagulants showed good results and reduced the effluent turbidity to levels below determined by legislation. By comparing the coagulants, it was possible to state that quaternized chitosan presented higher reduction of effluent turbidity levels; the tests were performed in the same conditions.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of recycling alum-based sludge (AbS) generated from drinking water treatment facility for turbidity removal. A response surface methodology (RSM)-based modeling and factor analysis were first implemented for assessing the optimal conditions of four independent factors, such as initial turbidity concentration, humic acid (HA) concentration, pH, and AbS dose on the water turbidity removal via the use of AbS as a coagulant agent. The optimum values of the four main variables were determined as initial turbidity concentration?=?59.65 NTU, pH?=?5.56, AbS dose?=?19.71 g/L, and HA concentration?=?12.28 mg/L, and at the optimum conditions, the percentage of turbidity removal was obtained as 94.81 (±?1.01)% for real water. At the optimum conditions of AbS usage as a coagulant for real water samples, monitoring of water quality parameters of the process indicated no health-related concerns in terms of hardness (all types), alkalinity, pH, residual aluminum, and even bacteriological (fecal and total coliforms) contamination. The results indicated a potential for AbS recycling in the treatment plant as a coagulant agent, although some requirements should be fulfilled before full-scale application.  相似文献

采用混凝-Fenton试剂氧化或混凝-臭氧氧化两种氧化技术预处理上海某医药集团原料药废水。实验结果表明:采用聚合氯化铝(PAC)和聚丙烯酰胺(PAM)复合混凝处理该废水,在混凝pH为9.5、混凝时间1h、PAC和PAM加入量分别为600mg/L和12mg/L时,COD的去除率可达23%;混凝后废水再分别用臭氧氧化和Fenton试剂氧化处理,臭氧氧化明显比Fenton试剂氧化经济有效,在臭氧氧化pH为10、臭氧加入量为15g/L、臭氧氧化时间为1h的条件下,废水COD去除率为27.8%,废水BOD5/COD明显提高,为后续生化处理提供了良好的条件。  相似文献

采用自制改性高分子絮凝剂巯基乙酰聚乙烯亚胺处理含Hg2+废水。实验结果表明:当Hg2+的质量浓度100 mg/L、絮凝剂的加入量3.7 mg/L、废水pH=5.0、浊度为0时,Hg2+的去除率达到88%;Hg2+和悬浮物在废水中共存时,当Hg2+的质量浓度100 mg/L、浊度127 NTU时,Hg2+和悬浮物可相互促进彼此的去除,浊度的去除率由40%左右增至95%以上;用该絮凝剂处理实际废水(Hg2+的质量浓度 20~25 mg/L、浊度126 NTU、pH=3.5),当絮凝剂加入量为4.2 mg/L时,Hg2+的去除率为84%,浊度的去除率为97%,且处理效果明显优于相同条件下的传统絮凝剂。  相似文献

The effectiveness of Fenton process in municipal landfill leachate treatment, as a pre- or post-treatment approach, has been demonstrated. However, no general recommendations of universal validity could be made in the term of optimized conditions affecting Fenton process. At the first stage of this study, collected leachate samples from Aradkooh site, Tehran, Iran, were investigated using one-factor-at-a-time method to find out optimum coagulation pH and flocculation time values. Subsequently, the obtained results in addition to data issued previously by the authors were employed to develop a predictive model of the true response surface, namely chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency. Finally, the main parameters of Fenton procedure, i.e. initial pH, [H(2)O(2)]/[Fe(2+)] molar ratio, Fe(2+) dosage, and coagulation pH were optimized taking advantage of the above-mentioned quadratic model. The derived second-order model included both significant linear and quadratic terms and seemed to be adequate in predicting responses (R(2)=0.9896 and prediction R(2)=0.6954). It was found that the interaction between initial pH and Fe(2+) dosage has a significant effect on COD removal. While, the optimal [H(2)O(2)]/[Fe(2+)] molar ratio was independent of ferrous ion dosage. The optimum conditions for the maximum COD removal of 50.76% for the parameters of initial pH, [H(2)O(2)]/[Fe(2+)] molar ratio, Fe(2+) dosage, and coagulation pH were found to be 5.8, 8.0, 22,500mg/L, and 8.7 respectively.  相似文献

In this study, melB tyrosinase was applied for enzymatic removal of linear and branched p-alkylphenols from aqueous solutions. First, systematic studies were carried out to estimate the effects of the process parameters such as the temperature, pH value, and enzyme dose on quinone conversion of p-cresol as a model phenol compound. A variety of p-alkylphenols were removed from aqueous solutions through the tyrosinase-catalyzed quinone conversion and subsequent nonenzymatic adsorption of quinone derivatives on chitosan beads at pH 6.0 and 30 °C under the optimum conditions determined for p-cresol. The % removal values of 98–100 were obtained for p-n-alkylphenols. Branched p-alkylphenols with a weak estrogenic activity containing 4-tert-butylphenol and 4-tert-pentylphenol, which underwent no quinone conversion by commercially available mushroom tyrosinase in the absence of H2O2, were also effectively removed by further increasing either the melB tyrosinase concentration or the amount of added chitosan beads. The present technique is much effective in the fact that a series of reactions rapidly progress under mild conditions and the chitosan beads can be readily separated from the reaction medium after the enzymatic treatment.  相似文献

SBA-15/PAMAM Nano adsorbent was synthesized by the proficiency of SBA-15 as an original compound, 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane as a bridge chemical compound and polyamidoamine dendrimer (PAMAM) in the role of a multifunctional amine end group for adsorption of acid blue 62 (AB62) from aqueous media. The synthesized adsorbent was characterized by transmission electron microscope, field emission scanning electron microscope and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscope. A response surface methodology was employed to evaluate the simple and amalgamated factors of the operating variables subtending initial pH (2–12), adsorbent dosage(0.01–0.03 g), contact time (5–120 min), initial dye concentration (40–600 ppm) and temperature (25–45?°C) to optimize the operating statues of the treatment method. These parameters were altered at five levels pursuant to the central composite design to appraise their effects on AB62 removal through analysis of variance. Analysis of variance represented a high coefficient of definition amount (R2?=?0.9999) and acceptable prediction quadratic polynomial model was concluded which ascertain the suitability of the model and a high correlation among the predicted and empirical amounts. Utmost color removal efficiency was auspicated and empirically accredited. The optimum conditions relied on acquired results for AB62 removal were at an initial pH of 2, adsorbent dosage of 0.03 g SBA-15/PAMAM, dye concentration of 40 mg l?1, time contact of 60 min and temperature of 25?°C.  相似文献

Hydrogels are in use for encapsulation of curcumin for possible use in wound healing. Encapsulation helps in targeted delivery and enhanced activity of curcumin. We report here a pH sensitive hydrogel developed from chitosan. The hydrogel was prepared by reaction of chitosan and d-glucose, facilitated by the reducing agent Na-cyanoborohydride. The maximum yield of the hydrogel was obtained at pH 4.5 with the amount of chitosan, d-glucose and Na-cyanoborohydride as 0.3, 2.0 and 2.0 g respectively. A maximum curcumin loading efficiency of 74% was observed with curcumin amount in the feed at 0.15 g. The release study revealed a sustained release pattern over a period of 80 h with an initial burst release. Curcumin loaded hydrogel showed mild antibacterial activity against Proteus mirabilis and Enterobacter aerogenes.  相似文献

以高炉渣为原料,分别采用酸浸及碱浸-酸化工艺得到铁、铝离子及聚硅酸,再将铁、铝离子引入聚硅酸制得聚硅酸硫酸铝铁(PSAFS)混凝剂。考察了PSAFS的聚合条件对焦化废水混凝效果的影响,并与市售混凝剂进行了对比。实验结果表明:PSAFS的最佳制备条件为n(Al+Fe)∶n(Si)=0.53,混凝剂p H=1,熟化时间0.5 h,熟化温度60℃;PSAFS加入量为4 m L/L时,混凝效果最好,对焦化废水的浊度和COD的去除率分别达到98.9%和74.5%;PSAFS的性能优于市售的3种混凝剂。  相似文献

采用混凝—气浮工艺对ABS树脂生产过程中的丁二烯聚合工段和乳液接枝工段混合废水进行预处理,优化了工艺条件。实验结果表明:最佳药剂组合为CaCl2和阳离子型聚丙烯酰胺(FO4440SSH),最佳CaCl2投加量为75 mg/L,最佳FO4440SSH投加量为10 mg/L,最佳废水pH范围为5~7;最优操作条件为以288 r/min的转速搅拌混凝1 min,再以72 r/min的转速搅拌絮凝20 min;混凝阶段的最佳G值为159.9 s-1、GT值为9 594,絮凝阶段的最佳G值为24.5 s-1、GT值为29 400;优化条件下,废水的浊度与COD去除率均可达98%以上。  相似文献

Sunflower residue, an agricultural waste material for the removal of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) from aqueous solutions were investigated using a batch method. Adsorbent was prepared by washing sunflower residue with deionized water until the effluent was colorless. Batch mode experiments were carried out as a function of solution pH, adsorbent dosage, initial concentration and contact time. The results indicated that the adsorbent showed good sorption potential and maximum metal removal was observed at pH 5. Within 150 min of operation about 97 and 87 % of Pb and Cd ions were removed from the solutions, respectively. Lead and Cd sorption curves were well fitted to the modified two-site Langmuir model. The adsorption capacities for Pb and Cd at optimum conditions were 182 and 70 mg g?1, respectively. The kinetics of Pb and Cd adsorption from aqueous solutions were analyzed by fitting the experimental data to a pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the rate constant was found to be 8.42 × 10?2 and 8.95 × 10?2 g mg?1 min?1 for Cd and Pb, respectively. The results revealed that sunflower can adsorb considerable amount of Pb and Cd ions and thus could be an economical method for the removal of Pb and Cd from aqueous systems.  相似文献
