Unilateral congenital short femur: A case report

A case of congenital short femur in an otherwise healthy infant is described. Antenatal sonographic diagnosis was made at 26 weeks of gestation. The left femur was shorter than the right (ratio 0·82–0·85). In this case, the occurrence of congenital short femur was sporadic. The diagnosis was confirmed after delivery. This case illustrates the importance of ultrasound as an early detector of certain congenital anomalies and as a useful tool in their follow-up.     

Humerus and femur length in fetuses with down syndrome

The aim of the study was to assess the value of sonographic measurement of fetal humerus and femur lengths in the second trimester as a screening tool for Down syndrome (DS). We reviewed retrospectively fetal sonographic biometry made at the time of amniocentesis between 15 and 19 weeks. The study group consisted of 27 DS fetuses. The control group comprised 500 normal fetuses chosen randomly. The expected humeral and femoral lengths for a given biparietal diameter were estimated by linear regression equations from the 500 normal fetuses. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was performed to evaluate both the detection rate and the false-positive rate of different cut-off values of measured to expected lengths ratios. The median femur and humeral lengths in DS fetuses were 0·91 times the expected values. No significant differences in the detection rate and false-positive rate were found between the humerus and femur lengths. When the humeral and femoral lengths were combined, we observed a remarkable reduction in the false-positive rate. A measured to expected length ratio of 0·91 detected 44·4 per cent of DS fetuses with 7·6 per cent false positives. These results suggest that the combination of femoral and humeral lengths may permit a more efficient use of ultrasound in screening for Down syndrome than the use of either alone.     

北京市机动车行驶周期的建立方法研究

提出了一种北京市机动车行驶周期的建立方法。行驶周期的确定是建立在准确的行驶工况数据之上的，通过结合使用GPS与OEM两种先进的技术，收集机动车行驶工况数据，为北京市行驶周期的建立提供了新的方法。并通过初步的实路测量试验得到了一个北京市的简易机动车行驶周期，最后与国外的一些著名行驶周期作了对比。     

A simple,rapid, and highly informative PCR-based procedure for prenatal diagnosis and carrier screening of phenylketonuria

The polymorphic information content (PIC) and the degree of heterozygosity of several polymorphic systems within the phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) gene were determined in 85 European Caucasian and 19 Chinese phenylketonuria (PKU) kindreds. The first system examined, a short tandem repeat (STR), had a PIC of 80 and 73 per cent in these Caucasian and Chinese samples, respectively. The degree of heterozygosity actually observed for this system was 81 and 64 per cent in the Caucasian and Chinese PKU families, respectively. Through the addition of a second polymorphism based on a variable number of tandem repeats (VNTR), the PIC was increased to 90 per cent in Caucasians, but only to 75 per cent in Chinese. The degree of heterozygosity observed for this combination was 94 per cent in European PKU families and 67 per cent in Chinese PKU families. The further addition of an Xmnl RFLP increased both the PIC and the level of heterozygosity in Caucasians to 95 per cent, but did not change either of these measures in Chinese. The combined use of these three polymorphisms significantly increases the informativity of prenatal diagnostic and carrier screening procedures in both Caucasian and Chinese PKU kindreds. Furthermore, since each of these polymorphisms can be studied by PCR-based methods, these new tests can be performed more quickly and easily than previous Southern-based procedures.     

学生食堂优化管理的数学模型

从学生食堂的设备及场所、物资的储存与购入、工作人员的管理及就餐者对食堂的要求这4个方面描述了各自对学生食堂管理的影响,得出了评估学生食堂优劣的一般公式Y=n∑i=1ωixi,并着重解决了学生就餐排队等待时间太长的问题,分析了该等待问题在排队论中所属的模型,解决了该课题要研究的问题的一般情况和个别案例,确定了各参数之间的关系.通过分析,得出了最优排队模型、费用模型及服务台数,并证明了最优模型的一般性.     

A familial Xp+ chromosome detected during fetal karyotyping,which is associated with short stature in four generations of a Turkish family

The short-stature homeobox-containing gene (SHOX) on chromosome Xp22.3 was recently identified as an important determinant of the stature phenotype. Deletions of the SHOX gene, some of them due to structural chromosome abnormalities, have been described in patients with idiopathic short stature and Leri-Weill syndrome. Additionally, haploinsufficiency of SHOX is a main cause for short stature seen in patients with Turner syndrome. Here we report an unusual X-chromosome abnormality, which was detected during a fetal karyotyping performed because of a previous child with Down syndrome. GTG banding demonstrated an extra chromosome segment on the terminal part of the short arm of chromosome X in the index case (karyotype: 46,X,Xp+). The same chromosomal abnormality was found in the mother and the maternal grandmother. All carriers of this chromosomal abnormality presented with short stature but no other associated symptoms. Whole chromosome painting of X revealed a homogeneous painting of the abnormal X chromosome indicating that no other chromosome was involved. Additional FISH studies with probe DXS1140 (Kallmann probe at Xp22.3), Quint-Essential X-Specific DNA (DMD probe at Xp21.2), XIST (at Xq13.2), and Tel Xq/Yq were performed, and no abnormality was observed in the intensities or the localizations of the probes signals. However, applying a specific SHOX gene probe (derived from cosmid LLNONO3M34F5) showed a loss of signal on the derivative X chromosome. Our results show that the Xp+ generation led to a deletion of the complete SHOX gene and caused short stature in the presented family. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

针对污水处理系统的特点与要求,探讨了SCADA系统中使用的GSM无线通讯网络,对其典型的两种数据传输模式(利用PPP协议拨号上网的GPRS无线数据分组业务及GSM短消息业务)分析了数据传输方式、通讯流程及两种模式的优缺点。并在上海松江东西部地区分别实现了这两种传输方式,效果良好。     

Shortened fetal long bones: a possible in utero manifestation of placental function

Shortened fetal long bones (SFLB) are usually indicative of a skeletal dysplasia. Our aim in this observational retrospective study was to describe a new association between SFLB, small for gestational age (SGA) fetuses and placental abnormalities, and to suggest an aetiologic explanation. During the last decade we have evaluated nine cases in which SFLB (more than 2SD below the mean) was associated with SGA, abnormal maternal serum placental hormones and abnormal placental sonography. Six cases had significantly increased second trimester maternal serum βhCG and four developed toxaemia of pregnancy or had chronic hypertension. On histology, mature placentas with vascular abnormalities, including chorangiosis, large infarcts and slightly increased syncytial knots were noted. The combination of SFLB, SGA fetuses and placental abnormalities (sonographic, as well as histological) suggested a possible common pathway in the aetiology of this association. 典型锥形结构两点响应控制试验研究

目的研究小长径比结构进行两点振动响应控制时的可行性,提升地面振动模拟真实性。方法针对一长径比约3:1的短圆锥结构,首先以圆锥表面气动载荷为振动输入载荷,通过数值仿真获得结构在自由状态下内部两点的加速度功率谱密度曲线,再采用激励杆和激励板的形式进行两点激励加载,控制要求的两点加速度响应。将真实响应的控制结果与常用梯形谱的控制结果进行对比,分析控制的有效性及结果的合理性。结果通过对比不同的两点激励加载部位,发现振动控制效果会存在明显差异,以仿真的结构响应作为振动控制谱,具有良好的振动控制效果,实际控制的功率谱密度曲线只在局部"谷"的地方和低频段出现超差,实际均方根值与要求均方根值差异较小。结论以仿真得到的结构内部响应作为振动控制谱,可以提高结构地面振动考核的真实性。当振动激励部位选择合适时,对于小长径比结构,也可以得到良好的控制效果。     

拉萨站线缆材料短期试验性能分析

分析了线缆材料在拉萨自然环境试验站中1～2年的短周期试验性能变化。线缆高分子材料在土壤环境中性能变化较小,而在大气环境中力学性能有所下降,HDPE耐环境性能、应力开裂性能下降26％;金属在土壤环境中腐蚀较轻。拉萨大气与土壤自然环境对材料的短期腐蚀（老化）作用比较轻微。     

小边距冲孔模的凹模设计

在五金、家电、办公用品等行业中,常存在一些零件需要先弯曲成形,再进行冲孔。由于结构设计要求,有些孔到弯曲边的距离尺寸较小,尺寸精度要求较高,因此在这类模具设计中,凹模的强度问题较为突出。从结构设计和工艺设计两方面给出了设计这种模具的一些心得体会。     

生活垃圾压缩装备无人值守控制系统设计

针对当前生活垃圾压缩装备作业效率低下的问题,设计与开发了基于智慧环卫理念和GSM短信平台的生活垃圾压缩装备的无人值守电气控制系统,讨论了该系统的硬件选型、软件设计和功能测试。其主要运用远程数据终端和GSM短信平台实现生活垃圾压缩装备无人值守功能,可达到提高垃圾转运效率、减少作业人员数目的目的,具有较好的应用前景。
